My eye! Sweet Jesus, Ouch!

Bravery and stupidity are different sides of the same coin.

They did it for honour because everyone told them it was honourable.

In our culture in the same situation (captured) it is instead honourable to make every attempt to escape, disrupt and distract the enemy.

Or survive and return later to continue to fight against a new enemy.

Modern soldiers killing themselves when captured are doing it because they fear the actions of their captors which is hardly the same thing.

Look, depression is a real thing.  It is the most diagnosed illness in Britain.

People deal with it in their own ways.

The most important thing is that they deal with it and the best way to make sure that happens it to be supportive and not dismissive when people try to talk about it.

Now, personally I don't really like Robin Williams' body of work, his type of comedy doesn't really work for me.

Even though I love "Toys" I feel it is despite him, not because of him.

If he did top himself though that might promote a healthy discussion of mental illness which will ultimately be beneficial for a lot of people.

If suicide is for the weak why did samurai warriors practice it as a show of honour !!

I would love to see how many strong people could plunge a sword into themselves and then draw it upwards and to the left and to the right .

Takes a lot of balls !!!

I always thought Samurai committed seppuku so they could 'die with honour' after doing something horribly, tremendously wrong - such as disobeying an order from their boss (Shogun, maybe? Not sure of the word.)

Robin Williams was one of my favourite actors. Good morning Vietnam is a brilliant film, as is Hook, The Dead Poets society, Bicentennial man, and countless others.

The man had a genuine talent to make people laugh, and the world is a poorer place without him.

Angry thread - Turns out the subframe on my new corrado is rotten, and I need a new one.

VW Don't make them anymore.

Nobody makes them anymore.

Drat.

(Also, i need a new exhaust system, drivers side sill and both front wings. And a heater matrix.)

it might not be *that* bad. I bought the car for cheap and was expecting some repairs.

Found a subframe for sale (second hand, obviously) that looks in decent nick. Wing's will be able to get from any early corrado that's being broken.

The sill is a big issue though. :|

At least with the exhaust, it's a good opportunity for a full stainless system.

Just saying... you have to see the good in the bad!

Great minds and all that ;) Sadly the 'zorst will have to take a back seat until/if i get the subframe and sill sorted out.

Not looking to hard then ?? Or is it the rear subframe . They are on the big bay of e as well

Never said I didn't find one, did I? :P. Would've preferred a genuine, new one, is all. That one's not too far away, just waiting on some pictures of the other side to make sure it's not rotten in the same place mine is. It looks alright though, and comes with wishbones and the anti-roll bar, which could both do with being changed on mine - they're looking worse for wear. Quite possibly original.

As for an exhaust (as and when), look at a custom one, as opposed to an off the shelf type. I was quoted around £1100 from a couple of companies for a manifold back system for a jeep I used to have.

Rang a company down the road and they hand made one and fitted it for £400.

Just for future reference :)

Edit, it sounded flipping awesome too!

Also try parts and panels ( wembley ) euro car parts. , German and Swedish

Or the German car company ( Southend )

Or any of the specialist vw breakers / shops . There are loads that stil have vw corrado panels and parts in stock .

If you get stuck pm me .

I used to build and race vw many years ago so I still have a lot of contacts who can source anything vw.

One thing I don't get.

Given that all the English channels in Belgium have Dutch subtitles, why do the Dutch channels have Dutch subtitles? It tells me they are off so why do they keep appear?

Ah well, the food is great and South Park is on so all is good.

Somehow i think shipping from California might be a tad expensive ;)

There's an exhaust place down the road I'm already thinking of badgering for a price - might as well upgrade it while it's off...

Also, All is well! I've found that VW Classic parts list a single, solitary passengers wing!

Good news, too! It's only FOUR HUNDRED EUROS!

I want to move to the Belgian office.

It is nice, they have a pool table, lunch service, speak various languages, support is much easier and they don't get drunk like idiots at social events.

But no I have to go back to the small and stuffy office. It is still a nice place but here is clearly so much nicer......

Damn it.

Asked lady out and she said no. Bit bummed, but at the same time happy that our friendship hasn't gotten awkward, we're still as stupid as we were. Possibly can get away with cuddling her too, which right now is all I really care about physical contact wise.

Friend spotted a Mk18 M203 for a good price, sold pending funds. :( Hope it falls through and the guy is up for holding it until Fri because I want it...

My advice. Find other woman to date and stay friends with this one, easier than worrying about things. :P

As for me I have a very large family to deal with on the same floor as me but they seem to have calmed down now. Hopefully it will stay that way and I will get some sleep.

*fruitcage* post office.

Sold a pistol, packed it up.

Go to post office.

"sorry, we can't post this"

The manager says she will speak to parcelforce, and call me back.

No call back. I go yesterday morning, manager not in and the woman behind the counter couldn't handle it. I go in the evening, and the post office is shut.

I'm livid

Yeah Tw1tch, you cuddle her, she's friend zoned the *fruitcage* out of you. Keep it physical contact free as she's not interested, move onto other women like fire knife says.

Darkchild

Not really "friendzoned" (I'm questioning the existence of such a thing). I asked her out and she said no. Simple as that. We're both cool with it. Physical contact's been a significant part of our friendship for a while now anyway. I just misinterpreted what I took as flirting.

Given that I was pretty much obsessed with the last person I fell for this is great news to me.

Didn't the Post Office have any of their restricted item pamphlets? Feel for you though. Sometimes they can be a right pain.

It does exist, it is usually that point though were you know someone too well to ask them out as it will jeapordise your friendship. It is far too easy to get into though and I have been there before. Friends with benefits might come from it but that is something you have to be very ok with, easy to get jealous / worried about it.

Then again if it really gets in the way there is always hookers and porn to take your mind off of it. ;)

Yeah RM are being bellends about that at the moment. First they have held up a fair few gas pistols for various unknown reasons (probably as they are 'gas') and now they are claiming that the present guidelines restricted sheet isn't even correct. So much for having 'guidelines' and such <_<
