amateurstuntman
Roast dinners remain unrestricted. It is simply being replaced as the national dish with peanut butter cups. The nut allergy people can eat something else...
scorch
So the French will cease calling us roast beefs, and instead call us nut cuppers.
hitmanNo2
When you're browsing YouTube, from England, have your location set as United Kingdom and a video is blocked on copyright grounds because it contains content from Channel 4. OK YouTube. Good one...
Hedganian
Gotta love the ridiculous international copyright laws that mean you can't watch a free video on a free website...
Mike_West
Though I do agree on only two things about UK prisons, one they should be used as a workforce like the US ones Oh, there is a catch regarding that one. There were cases of corruption in the US that involved judges sentencing people on charges in order to put them in private prisons that profited from their work. So I'd be careful of that one. And if people prefer being jailed to whatever *suitcase*'s going on outside, well, that's a problem with the outside, not with the prisons. Also, the *fruitcage* postal service. The Chinese punted my parcel out ten days ago, aaand it's gone. Didn't show up in the sorting facility, much less the customs. What the hell are they doing with it?
Hedganian
No one said private prisons. They'd still be government owned and operated. No more of this G4S BS either...
shmook
Stunt said Chinese prisons...!
Hedganian
I'm sure the Chinese government runs prisons - but perhaps I misread his post?
DrAlexanderTobacco
The reason you can't watch Channel 4 videos on Youtube is because Channel 4 specifically are blocking them - Not youtube. They want anyone from the UK to use their *suitcasey* 4OD player instead.
hitmanNo2
Ah. That makes sense in a kind of 'old people running a company' way. They have the ability to offload expensive bandwidth but choose to direct right back at themselves. Muppets.
shmook
I'm sure the Chinese government runs prisons - but perhaps I misread his post? Mike said private prisons, I was in agreement with you that Chinese one are state-owned
hitmanNo2
I think private prisons are fairly rare worldwide. Only a handful of countries use them IRC.
amateurstuntman
Nobody would run a corrupt prison in Stunt's Britain, they'd be too scared of ending up in it. I am working on a new idea too. All court cases only get one lawyer, the lawyer is just there to make sure both sides get treated fairly. If he or she messes up they go to jail. I am also considering professional jurors. DrAlexanderTobacco
Car people! Lend me your ears and kindly advice. I've recently bought a Yaris from a mate, got quite a good deal for it and it's cheaper to insure than my shitheap of a fiesta. I've been driving it for a week and it's a solid car so far. There is one niggling issue I notice every time I drive, however. Normally, when the steering wheel is turned off-centre, left or right, one expects the wheel to return to centre line when you accelerate. In the Yaris, however, this feature doesn't trigger unless the wheel is at a 45 degree angle or more. This makes the car feel jerky at times, as you're constantly compensating for this lack of compensation. I've done some preliminary googling and lots of people say it's a "Yaris thing" - And truthfully it's probably something I can get used to, but I'd prefer to get it working if I can. Does anyone have any ideas as to what it might be? I've seen suggestions ranging from camber on the tires to damage on the steering rack. I've booked it in for aservice on the 22nd anyway, so I'll ask then as well.
shmook
Check power steering pump fluid level first. Seen it on a Peugeot and fluid was down
Hedganian
If there's a fault, a full service should highlight it.
Tommygunn
DrAlexanderTobacco, I don't know what Mark of Yaris you have but I have a Mark I and there is one main problem to keep an eye on with age. That is the connection between the ends of the anti-roll bar and the suspension arms which utilises a simple, and crappy, bolt and rubber isolator arrangement. The original part is junk and will bend and perish causing horribleness. Best to buy an aftermarket set and replace. Otherwise, a very reliable car. Tom.
DrAlexanderTobacco
Looks like I have a Mk 1 Thanks for your help guys, I'll mention all of this to the mechanic!
Tommygunn
Your steering issue is unlikely to be related to the roll bar, however, if you do replace the connecting bolts give me a shout and I'll let you know which ones I went with because there are several aftermarket versions out there. I've booked it in for aservice on the 22nd anyway, so I'll ask then as well. It's not the best of ideas to let the car do that. You should be in control of the vehicle at all times. saying that, it's possibly underinflated tyres, over inflated tyres, or a banjaxed PAS system. Check power steering pump fluid level first. Seen it on a Peugeot and fluid was down PAS fluid level is a good one to check - it'll be easy enough to find. Make sure you use the right stuff, some cars are picky about it. Worn anti-roll bar links won't cause that issue. They'd cause wandering steering, a knocking noise or possibly a nasty bounce when going hard around corners. best bet would be to take it to a decent toyota specialist and ask them. might just be characteristic of the cars. DeltaZero
It will be the caster of the car.. If it's that it's unchangeable and genuinely a "Yaris thing".. It's the physical geometry of the car and the set up. But worth a shot with everything else! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
