I have begun favouring non-obscene yet descriptive type insults.

Troglodyte, oxygen thief, garbage-person etc., I have been calling a guy at work (whose initial is G) G2.  He thinks I know two people called G.

It is actually the Staff Branch for intelligence, since he has none.

I sometimes look at people and earnestly ask them questions like:

Do you have foetal alcohol syndrome?

Do you have an acquired brain injury?

How long did you flat line for?

That's a little insulting - not to them, but to people who actually have those conditions.

My wife, for example, had 3 respiratory arrests and a cardiac arrest resulting in hypoxic brain injury, has suffered two TIAs resulting in further degradation of functionality and uncontrolled epilepsy, and various other health problems.

Sadly, such things aren't amusing in our household...

if someone is being retarded then its ok to call em retarded. If they are actually mentally handicapped then its not ok to call them retarded. thats how i see it.

Surely the opposite?

If a person is classed as retarded, then it's ok to refer that they are retarded, as it's a named condition.

If a person does something silly and you call them a retard for it, then it's derogatory.

I'm not sure that many people who have / know people that do actually have mental retardation would appreciate the word retarded being used and tbh mental redardation seems pretty antiquated, probably for that reason. And on the contrary, I think being derogatory is the point!!

Seriously, if you tried to listen to the local ruling party MPs, you'd get the idea that they must be mentally deficient, burdened with some serious learning disabilities, prone to screaming fits for no reason and ill-behaved on top of all that. Moronic brown-nosing wankers, the bloody lot of them.

Also, yet another game some *Ubarflock* are outraged by, of course by proxy. And who's leading the charge? That duplicitous sniveling spunkrat Tauriq Moosa, who earlier tried to teach Czech people "socially progressive" Czech history and bitched about the lack of black people in "The Witcher 3".

Speaking from experience, I did work with people that had what the council term 'mild disabilities' as in enough for benefits but not enough to need 24hr or specialist care and they called each other a retard all the time.

Suppose it is a bit like the N word, used all the time but only between people that it is meant to offend is it deemed 'ok'.

Tidied out the cupboad under the stairs (AKA The Cupboard O'Doom!) and found I've got a clone M3 shorty, KWA USPc with three mags and my old TM 1911a1 with 4 mags that barely holds enough gas to empty the mag.

I should go skirmishing...

EDIT:

Also I'm nearing the end of the Dark Tower series by Stephen King (great reading, btw) and I feel the need for a long duster coat, faded blue jeans, and a big iron on my hip in a Hard Calibre.

Nobody makes a skirmishable SAA, and I don't have UKARA anymore even if they did :(

Umarex legends series do one. My old boss bought one and showed me it today. Feels incredibly well made. Wait out for skirmish report.

They made multiple references in the books to swinging out the cylinder to reload. So it is some magical wacky hybrid of revolvers.

Makes me wish that I'd not sold my long barreled M500s to get that massive revolver look that they reference throughout the series (despite not being eaten style, but then again I've never been much of an impressionist)

Finishing the last book myself (not for the first time)
