Hedganian
It's almost like they want you to work while you're at work...
Mike_West
I am tired. It's apparently a tiring day as people in other departments seem sluggish too. I'd crack open an emergency energy drink, but I have no idea when the burnout will hit and last thing I want is staying awake at 3AM.

Mike_West
And the IT systems at work went bonkers. So I'm sitting here until 5pm with nothing to do.

Lone_Bullet
I found it's quite a hipster thing to buy genuine vintage stuff or low production high quality reproduction of said stuff and then not take care of it.Peugeot race bikes for examples. Some really old with the thin steel frame et.Rusty, scratched frame; worn down tires and brakepads, almost rusted solid bikechains and loosening handlestraps.Even clothing. Leather, wool, all needs special care and none's given. But oh, the hair and beard! Weekly visit to the barber and 5 different beardoils and hairwaxes...Im glad the hipster period is quite gone. Now to teach these young pseudo environmentalists that flying around the world and the usage of 'everything Cloudbased!' really messes up the environment... Hedganian
I have Netflix. My wife has Amazon Prime. Neither have the film I want to watch. And the industry wonders why people use torrents...
hitmanNo2
You think it's bad now, things are going to get massively worse soon. Streaming services are going to fracture with Disney pulling all their stuff for their own streaming service and others wanting their own service. Things were going well and now piracy is going to skyrocket as people decide they don't want to subscribe to a million streaming services.
Hedganian
Their solution will be trying to clamp down on pirates and suchlike, when the effective solution would be lowering the price and increasing availability of legitimate content.Splitting content providers even further is a terrible idea either way. sandstorm
Well, Disney are doing their damnedest to get content in one place... Namely by buying up everyone else...
Tw1tch
I'm currently preparing for an ultrasound on no kidneys to see if I've any evidence of polycystic kidney disease. My late grandfather had it, my dad and uncle his side both have it. I thought the blood screen was searching for the gene but apparently they were just looking for signs of abnormal kidney function. Hedganian
Good luck, bud. Hope the scan shows no problems.
Lone_Bullet
oh f*ck, Tw1tch. Hope it'll go well and there's no need to worry!
Tw1tch
Unfortunately the radiologist found a few cysts in both kidneys and ten in my liver. However, he did say that doesn't mean I do have PKD and that I'll need to work with my GP and potentially specialists to work out what they are. He also said a bunch of people who lead healthy normal lives show cysts so not to panic yet. Still can't help but be a little nervous though. Fear of the unknown is a powerful thing. I'm not gonna go down without a fight though, medical science is making massive leaps.
Hedganian
Like the man says, it might not be that serious.Stay positive, and keep on top of the doctors.
Hardcore1-6
If you need anything mate, let us all know - someone will be able to help even if it's a lift to an appointment or a cat/bag of airsoft kit/woman to take care of!
Tw1tch
Thanks for the support. I'm quite lucky in its a half hour leisurely walk to the hospital (or about 10 mins on bus). Hoping my GP makes contact soon so we can move forward and kick the out of this.
Hedganian
If you don't hear anything soon, get onto them. Don't just wait until you hear from them, it could take ages.
shmook
Yep, you must nag.
sandstorm
Worst case? They have forgot they needed to call you, as the note was thrown out/shredded/buried on the desk with the other paperwork. Just nag, it's your body, not theirs, so if they forget it'll hurt you, not them...
Gunmane
If necessary, don a monocle and speak in the most posh accent possible and say you are such and such Lord/Baron/Duke's grand nephew. I have reached the point where I think I have become a workaholic, in the sense that I find more moments of functionality at work than at home. Lately I have also come to the realization that I really do not find any reason to get another aeg for the holidays, or PSO scope, etc. I might need a doctor...
Gunmane
Apologies for the double post. My male Havanese Winston spent the past weekend unable to to walk on his rear legs and was in general pain, folks took him to the vet today thinking that his leg issues were occurring again. Turns out somehow a disc moved up into his spinal cord. Vet gave use prescriptions and instructions to keep him either laying down by our sides or in a pen for a few days in the vain hope that the swelling goes down and the disc will move back. If not he will eventually be completely paralyzed in his legs. Mother is in tears and so am I, as it is more likely we will lose him. I haven't cried in so long that all my suicidal thoughts are surging back, and I just want to grab the nearest handgun and get it over with. I took my new job earlier this year as a sign that maybe life would get better, but no, it just has to constantly *suitcase* on my family to the brink of madness.
shmook
How old is he? I know what it's like to see your dog like that, ours suffered from it a lot due to a prostate inflammation, I know it's truly horrible to watch. Having him castrated cured it, although I get that may not help here. Also, please don't look at his pain as an excuse to do something. It's not worth it, it really isn't. I say this as a dog owner too, so I know they are more than just pets - they are a sibling or a child - but to end it all over this is not the way. I cannot stress enough for you to reach out if you are thinking like this, call a doctor, or even a helpline specialising in this. Do you have the Samaritans over there? If not, do you have a non-emergency number for the police? They will be able to put you in touch with someone who could help. I have experienced suicide first hand with a close family member, and while I cannot even pretend to understand how you feel, I have some insight into how you think it may be an option. It's not, really it isn't. You would be missed by those close to you even if you think you wouldn't. You have thought about it before, and got past that. That isn't weakness at not being able to go through with it, it is having the strength to persevere. You can find that strength again, and you don't always have to find it alone bud. Hardcore1-6
I have torn my hamstring. No running, jumping, lifting or anything that might result in further injury. It's not completely off, but a grade 2 that prevents: -sitting comfortably -stairs -lifting anything -moving my leg without hindrance
