First-world airsoft shopping problems.  Why in the world does Airsoftgi not want my money?  They put all their stuff on "blowout pricing" which means for most things a few bucks and then excludes all of it from free shipping coupons.  I can have the same stuff in both their cart and on evike (in this case a spare cyma gearbox so I can get an old dboys akms body running plus a few small things to reach coupon code requirements, some ammo, springs, etc.) and because of this stunt evike would win out.  I hate having to turn to them when I want to spread my spending to various shops, but this kinda stuff is just asinine.  Yes, I'm aware evike does the same *suitcase* too.

All I really need is the selector spacer bits that interface with the selector plate and whatnot (I have an old acm qsc gearbox that is missing them), but no, no stateside shop carries spares in stock at all, and any gearbox without the motor such as lonex, zci, etc. all come without the selector bits.

The percentage off codes are generally not worthwhile from these stores if you don't live nearby since the shipping can reach upwards of $20-40 for one item regardless of size/weight/etc. (and the old adage of places raising prices up before putting them on "sale").  Only certain things like LCT models and Promy barrels end up being worth it if you are willing to eat the shipping cost (as they somehow don't fall under "Manufacturer Assured Pricing" somehow).  Most places don't even use codes, they just "apply it" to whatever they want to get rid off.

It was just driving me bonkers that gi wanted to charge such shipping rates for a gearbox that was four dollars less than their competitor because it was a "blowout sale."

Whilst over here we may have things like that, I would kinda say overseas you have more players in the field in terms of shops and despite the import matters you likely have a better time acquiring certain things from the rest of Europe/Asia, though that may be something more to say for certain mainland Europe countries.

Got a migraine from work so I might just be typing gibberish as usual.  Frustrated at the weather lately with folks on the road to and from work and it making the potential weekend skirmish likely a stay home situation (might be only slightly less cold then last time but weather far worse).

I love UK Black Friday.

you get 10-20% off a product that has suddenly been marked up 75% the day before. 😎

I've not seen a good deal yet, in the last few years 'we' have adopted it.

It's always funny watching chavs twat each other over 2 quid off a 36 inch tv though. I do love watching chavs twat each other...!

I had some good deals this year (however I agree that you do need to watch for price hikes just before the event).

Allied Risk Equipment had 45% off their Virtus Outdoors jackets meaning I was able to build a complete set of layers, as well as 20% off StrikeForce Energy. OLight UK had some decent deals on their torches across the weekend in which I got 40% off a pretty sweet torch.

Also, I'm now a qualified first aider. :)

I was just escorted off the hospital grounds by security because the *albartroth* Sister in charge values their irrationally arbitrary visiting times above the wellbeing of the patients, and lied about me being "rude and aggressive" to get security to attend, when in fact I was sitting down the entire and spoke calmly while correcting her repeated misinterpretation of the hospital policies to suit herself.

The wife is now classed as "palliative care" and has been... "encouraged" to sign an advanced directive, she's in a private side room, she struggles to cut her food sometimes due to having arthritis on top of neuropathy and a hypoxic brain injury, no other patients or relatives even knew I was there so it wasn't "unfair to others".

I'm in the process of writing the formal letter of complaint now. Well when I recover from reaction anyway.

Cheers, bud.

Every bloody ward in the place acts like they've got their own set of rules. I had a similar issue on another ward and it was sorted out by the Matron and the snotty nurse was made to apologise. But this was ridiculous, actual security guards turned up, massive ones, trying to claim that *I* was "upsetting the patient" to act like they were doing it for her benefit instead of to enforce the pathetic rules-lawyering of a pathetic woman who's a disgrace to the nursing profession.

I would say make the lot of them skydive off Big Ben without parachutes but that would probably be too good for them.  I like to think my sister would chew the hell out of any nurse staff that did that in a hospital she was working at but I get the feeling those above her would hold her responsible for being a decent human being and not the dung heaps left to continue their *suitcase* heap building.

Took apart my main old kalash to transfer the bits back to the triangle stock receiver last night and found the modify flat hop bucking was torn where the nub makes contact.  Not sure how or why other than perhaps too much pressure on it from the nub or a bb teared it from a jam up or the cold from last game.  Tis the soft type so going to see if the hard version fares any better and got a shs chamber on the way since the original chamber was plastic.  Kinda frustrating since I was looking forward to using it this weekend if I did go out to play though tbh I am not sure if the tear actually effects it much since it the nub is still pushing the bucking material down straight.  Of course, I have no honest clue if these setups have done any of my replicas any better and I wouldn't be surprised if the others with the same setups are also already torn.

I've still not finished my letter, it's now some four pages long. Typed, 12 pt Times New Roman.

The nurse in question is apparently off shift for the next five days, so who knows what will happen tomorrow. I'm not sure I'll even get into the building, but we'll see.

Also, I have cadets tomorrow, and it's valentine's day. Annoying.

Got no words right know, but know that you and your wife are in my thoughts right now. And I'm so p*ssed at the staff...

Hedge, that's *suitcase*. It really is and I'm so sorry to hear it. I know the situation you're in, but I had basically a free pass when my dad and wife were in, the staff were great. Not rubbing it in, what I mean is maybe this one was just a horror, and you will get decent staff from now on.

Keep up with the letter, kick it as far as you can. If you can be bothered, maybe contact the local rag and tell them, and if the hospital has social media, go for that.

They hate bad publicity.

Also, insider tip. Hospital security are big, but can't go hands on. This is why they are big, to intimidate without contact. They used to call us if a customer got stroppy, because their hands are tied... If you refuse to go, they can't lift you off the premises. Maybe get a discreet body camera for your side of the story. I know that's not at the forefront of your mind, but it may cover your *albartroth*.

Holler if you need to bud, happy to chat.

Edit, valentines day. Have this ♥

  • 2 weeks later...

And of course things had to go tits up and my Windows license cannot be transferred to the new system after motherboard and CPU upgrade. Despite the system being installed on the same goddamn SSD that I plugged into the new motherboard.

Weirder still, my Microsoft profile claims that all is fine and dandy. I mean, *fruitcage*, I have two separate Win10 digital licenses, one for my laptop and another for my desktop, and they do have an option to transfer the license over to the new hardware in case of upgrade, but right now, it doesn't work and Windows itself has no idea why. Erroneous Error: Nothing Wrong Happened.

Rather annoying rashes behind my knees, which I think may be the result of my jeans when bending to move stuff at work or something.  Cannot think of any chemicals that might have caused it either, we haven't changed laundry or bath products.

Microsoft logic: have you upgraded your Win7 to Win10 for free when you had the chance? Have you expected us to register that and provide you with that magic "digital entitlement" majiggerig? HAHAHAHAHA *fruitcage* YOU.

Turns out I had to punch in my Win7 serial to re-activate Win10 after motherboard replacement.

That is nuts.
