It's free for buyers.

But it is also the buyers that drive it more than the sellers in a way. Yes the sellers bring in money by offering their items but if it wasn't for the buyers the item woudln't get sold. Simple then for eBay to make it more accessible for the buyers and then charge the sellers as they are the ones making profit.

Not be penalising the sellers - the people paying the bills - because you treat them badly they'll leave.

Really, were will they go?

You can't open a shop as the item you sell is too specialised and it will only be for that area, you can't use the competition as eBay have muscled them out and you can't setup your own website as the implimented cost will be too great, especially in the time of a recession.

As terrible as it is eBay is the lifeblood of small business that sell specialist items. In fact many UK business that started small started with the earlier eBay system. Maybe eBay have just grown way to big for their boots.

Well, for a start, they could close their accounts and register on one of the other eBay sites - only the UK and Ireland site has these anti-seller policies at present.

Plus there are still a few alternatives to eBay. They'll grow if eBay drives its customers away. But the real point is that if sellers leave eBay - whether they go somewhere else or just give up - eBay's income will drop, and there will be less stuff for buyers, so less site traffic, so less advertising revenue (I'm sure I remember eBay not having adverts at all, come to think of it), etc, etc.

Once people start voting with their feet, businesses are usually quick to change their ways.

Unfortunatley eBay is the way it is and i doubt maybe 100 of it's potential 1,000,000 sellers is going to make a huge impact.

As much as it pains me to say the British are the worst (bad best) at giving in when someone with a little more authority rules over us, hence why people still use eBay UK even with its faults.

And as for going to one of the other country versions of eBay that wouldn't help as you will start getting the buyers from those sites meaning you have to charge more for flat rate p&p which annoys your english customers as they wont pay it. As much as we cower in the face of authority we step up when on an equal buyer / seller level.

Like all things nowadays we are eventually heading to the one big company owning everything we want.

him in the art of "cocking" his leg, to wee...

Gun and dog are not the same, beware :D

It's probably because I'm fat.

Well that explains you, but what about me?

Are you in fact on fire?

Just because of the rumours about me 'flaming' (take that whatever way you will) doesn't mean i am actually on fire.

I'm not cold even though I spent all day outside in deep mud and in the wind.

That is because I am not just fat, I also have a Snugpak Sasquatch, longjohns, a thermal shirt, a hat and two pairs of socks on, including a pair of sealskinz trekker socks that cost nearly 40 quid.

I'm toasty. Any fool can be uncomfortable.

For some odd reason, I never feel the cold as much compared to other people, especially compared to my other family members. When I was younger, I would go out into the snow without a coat, long sleeve shirt, or anything most people would assume someone who lives in the tundra that is Michigan to wear constantly when outside. In fact, I tend to overheat while outside. These days I just say it's due to body hair, but to be honest, I believe there's something else involved. Furthermore, while my ears and hands may turn red and appear frozen, I feel no effects at all, until a certain pain threshold is reached. Even then, I can still function as usual. It sure makes shoveling snow less of a chore though.

In contrast, i seem to lose functions when it is extremely humid. Makes my summer job at the golf course next door a living hell, lol.

For the folks that don't get cold I suspect your bodies are all face. Most normal people can go out with a bare face but those of us who are all face can go about in January in shorts.

However some of us have all got it *albartroth* about face :D

You've hit on one of my pet hates there, people who go out in *suitcasey* weather wearing inappropriate clothing and then *badgeress* and whine about how they're cold and wet

Edited for spelling
