My eye! Sweet Jesus, Ouch!

People who forward totally rational and clear technical but private e-mails on to their managers without checking, which then get forwarded to a Director who send it down to the MD, who then passes it down to your bosses boss by which time the context and content have been misconstrued, everyone's added comments that are totally out of proportion to the original e-mail (and demonstrate a complete lack of understanding of the subject) and you end up in the middle of a s**tstorm of misunderstanding and political nonsense in which you have to explain what the e-mail was about in the first goddamn place to your managers as if they were 5 year old's before they get the message.

I'd hate that.

A couple of days ago, while logged onto MSN, I recieved a notice that 'A newer version is available. You must install the newer version in order to continue. Would you like to do this now?'

What kind of ###### is this, the only reason why I still used MSNM was because 7.5 was still supported. WLM is just ######. Seriously, it's almost like they decided to go ahead and make everything I liked about 7.5 into garbage. The text background isn't opaque enough (and it's not adjustable), the interface as a whole is ugly and memory consuming, msgplus doesn't support StuffPlug anymore, which means I'm forced to look at ads and *beep* all the time. what the *fruitcage*, seriously. 7.5 is superior to WLM in every way.

But now that I have a bunch of friends on MSN and not AIM, I'm forced to update to WLM in order to stay in touch with them. Microsoft managed to *fruitcage* up again.

Ditto on that viper, i was still running version 7.0 which was a very small file (about 4mb iirc) and ran very fast on this computer, now i've got the *beep* version of live its insanely slow and looks like utter wank.

MSN was a free program, there was nothing wrong with the older versions so why the *fruitcage* did they waste money changing it into a wanktastic pile of *beep*?

And then theres the live inbox i have to use now rather than the old hotmail inbox, again, what was wrong with the old one? Though i have to admit there are at least some things that are better on the new inbox...

OK a few recent ones concerning adverts.

First on the agenda is that stupid Mazda advert, would someone kindly explain to me what the hell is going on in that, some weird looking bloke drives this thing about with a load of rocky horror show audition rejects flying about trying to use some bizarre form of martial arts on it, If you really don't like it that much cut the bull**** run up and kick it, it isn't difficult.

It then finishes with "it's fit" ...... OK..... if you insist?

Next problem, baby adverts more specifically the Muller little stars advert, everything about it makes me want to burn things.

First off they insist on playing the most pathetic cotton wrapped version of "I got life" I've ever heard, they then show all the "darling kidywinks" dancing about with the world around them helping them out at every turn, it's all sunshine butterflies and daisies oh isn't it wonderful now if you'll excuse me I'm going to be sick all over the floor.

Why can't we have more adverts like this instead of the usual rubbish.

I think that's all for now but no doubt I will come up with more.

Former Prime Minister (former since today's elections) - that c*nt can't take the loss like a man and starts quacking about "grey web of corrupt businessmen and politicians" again. On a side note, the acronym of his party's name (Prawo i Sprawiedliwosc - PiS) has been colorfully explained as "Paranoja i Schizofrenia" (Paranoia and Schizophrenia), "Przeproscie i Spierdalajcie" (Apologize and Get The *fruitcage* Out), "Podpierdolimy i Slonce" (We'll Filch The Sun Too - reference to his days as a child actor, when he and his brother (the current President) starred in the movie "About The Two That Stole The Moon") and "Podstep i Spisek" (Deceit and Conspiracy)...

People who ring for technical support, then despite the clearest step by step instructions, they are clearly not listening to a word you say. Why call in the first place? Also those requiring technical support, who only proceed to tell you they 'know about computers' and have done everything to fix it, normally reeling off a load of unrelated uneducated jargon. 'Ive turned the main server on and off'?? WTF? Considering im currently holed up in the server room, in another part of the city, I doubt that very much. If you need support - accept it. Ill listen to you. Ill ask the probing questions. Ill give you the solution in an easy step by step manner. Ill listen to you, but you must listen to me. I dont go into a garage and pretend to know about engines. Oh and computers arent stupid. Period.

Companies who hire people with intelligable accents for the custermer support.

I'm ringing because the service you have provided has frakked up, (again). So what does this company do? Hire people who

A] Can't tell what i'm saying

B] Have such a thick accent you could stand a spoon up in it

C] have no knowledge of their product what so ever.

Yes BT i'm talking about you.

On another note, those people who drive so very slowly around roads they don't know, only to have an ego trip when some one lives there wants to over take.

I accept you do not know how severe the next corner is, really thats no problem. However speeding up when you notice me next to you is really not appriciated.

People that talk on their phones while driving. Either, buy a *fruitcage* bluetooth headset, put it on speaker phone, or turned the damn thing off! I see more people driving like they are drunk becuase they can't manage their phone and a wheel.

People that leave their bluetooth headsets on when they aren't on the phone. (YOU DON'T LOOK COOL, STOP FOOLING YOURSELF AND TAKE IT OFF)

Birds of any kind. Not so much a rant, just they fail, fail big. Ohh and cats. Yes some cats are cool, like the ones that get trashed on catnip and run into the wall lol. But for the most part, cats are evil.

People that tailgate you, then start flashing their brights when you hit the brakes to get them off your tail. Personally, i can't stand it when people tailgate me and I always slow down till they get the hint. Then people that get annoyed by me slowing down and don't get the hint and try and pass me. They suck too.

People that drive Mustangs. I seriously see at least 1 of these ugly monstrosities anytime I go anywhere. I've been at a stop light and had a Mustang on every side of me. They aren't cool. If you want a real car thats built right, buy a European car, like an Aston Martin or Audi. Ford should have had the good sense of not producing them after the 60s, like what Dodge did with the Charger (course now its back and looks like it was built with only rulers). Also the people too *fruitcage* cheap to get the v8 version of those cars. If your buying a muscle car, get the *fruitcage* muscle! Do it right or not at all.

While on the subject of European cars, people that drive BMWs and Mercedes that think they own the road.( your not special, get over yourself!)

/sigh

Much better. Great thread :)

Idiots who list their (censored version) used CD's on Amazon as the uncensored version. I just bought two censored albums listed as uncensored. Who's daft enough to think it's okay for the audio to cut out every couple of seconds? If I wanted to hear that, I'd unplug my speakers every 5 seconds. Why would someone ruin a good album with censorship? Argh!

"Artists" who put swear words in their songs. Come on guys, it's not necessary, and you *KNOW* that it can't be played on the radio or TV like that, so why bother? Is your mind really so small that you can't express yourself without a string of profanity?

BBC...

I own a television, which can be used for a variety of purposes. I am taxed on its ownership, purely because I 'could' use it to watch BBC channels. Can I choose not to watch them? - YES. Am I still taxed? - YES. Does my tax go to any of the other channels?-NO. My tax goes on paying Johnathon Ross £6 million a year. Nuff said.

Anti-competitive doesnt even come close. What happened to freedom of choice. I know - I could choose not to watch TV. But why can I not choose what TV I want to pay to watch?

AAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRRRGGHHHH. Just writing about it makes me sooooo angry. Dont even get me on to the bullying scare tactics of Capita - the license people. 'WE KNOW WHERE YOU LIVE' 'YOU ARE BREAKING THE LAW' etc etc. Guilty until proven innocent.

It's a tax. If you want a TV, you have to pay the tax. It's nothing to do with paying the BBC, the TV Tax money goes to the government, who then give the BBC an unrelated sum. Just like National Insurance Contributions don't have anything to do with your pension, or the NHS. Or Car Tax doesn't go towards the Highways Agency...

If you want a car, you have to pay the Car Tax. If you want to travel by air, you have to pay the Airport Tax. When you buy anything, you have to pay VAT, etc, etc.

Being fair doesn't come into it. Don't think of it as paying for the BBC, which you don't want to watch. Think of it as the goverment taxing you for having a TV, because that's what they're doing. It's just another tax.

I certainly agree its just a tax.

I understand the Wireless Telegraphy Act quite well, in that there is not mention of the BBC, however I would argue that the sum is related.

How your licence is spent

The following information relates to 2006/2007.

Each household's colour TV licence cost £10.96 every month in 2006/2007. On average this was how the BBC used your money:

licencefee2.gif

BBC or not, public perception is based upon education and information. The Queens royal charter states the BBCs entiltlement to collect, enforce and the Wireless Telgraphy Act.

If you want to travel by air, you have to pay the Airport Tax.

When I pay Air Tax, the money does not go to one individual airline. That would be seen as anti-competetive.

If you want a TV, you have to pay the tax.

If i can prove that my television does not have the capability to pick up broadcasted channels, I do not need to pay the tax. Therefore I am not taxed upon the ownership of television. I am taxed upon the ability to operate a television reciever, and watch publically funded broadcasts.

I'm going to have to have a rant about TV Licensing purely on the basis that my PC happens to have a TV card in it, and even though I don't own a cable to hook it up to the access point in my room, nor do I actually wish to as theres not really anything good on normal television, bar Top Gear and maybe 2 other programs, which I can live without I still have to pay the £135 fee on the basis that I could potentially watch television, even though I am actually lacking a crucial bit of hardware to do so, ie the antenna cable, seems totally wrong in my eyes, but I'm hardly going to win that battle.

People who can't pronounce for *beep*.

I mean COME ON, you can't say "coercive"? God Almighty, it's pretty *fruitcage* basic!

Co-Er-Siv!

Rant 2

What the *fruitcage* is up with people who are stupid? I mean come on, how much more stupid could you get?

Teacher asks a question. Teacher has told students answer to question twice. Also directly in the *fruitcage* face of the students.

It takes 5 PEOPLE TO ANSWER IT! IN AN ADVANCED CLASS!

I find it amusing how you Brits think that artists should produce music knowing that they will be censored, or not do it at all. Or think that charging you tax to watch your television is necessary and logical...*wanders off muttering about socialists*

Elitest people who can't understand the basic principles of humanity and the fact that some actually have a biological handicap. Like a pathetic set of cards in the game of poker that is life.I also agree with the fact that music shouldn't be censord. I mean is it like no one has ever heard the saying.

If you don't have anything nice to say. don't say it at all!!!!1
