When it comes to under age drinking at a pub/club, both parties are at fault. The parents of the person drinking under age, and the pub/club for not performing an ID check. Both are equally at fault.

*badger*s.

Its 100% the person who is underage and made the choice to break the law who is at fault.

I will concede that the parent may be at some fault if they've not bothered to teach them right from wrong.

The poor sod behind a bar that is stacked 4 punters deep for hours on end getting paid minimum wage and getting hassle for not serving faster certainly shouldn't be held accountable when the door staff who have significantly less work to do should be filtering underagers out.

WHY AM I STILL AT WORK. IT'S NEARLY BATHTIME AND I WANT A BATH AND A CUDDLE AND I'M STILL AT WORK WAITING FOR SOMEONE TO CALL ME BACK SO I CAN HAVE HIS PASSPORT DETAILS

The only upside is i'm packing him off somewhere sandy to get potentially shot at. So minor victory. Still, sweet jesus, argh

You mean you're not sending him as cargo?

Not all pubs have door staff and the licensee of a pub/club has a responsibility of due care and attention. Namely, making sure people are not served who are drunk and/or under age. So it's not it's actually part of their job.

Regarding the parents, they are still responsible. It's a harsh out look, but it is true.

Having worked as a door supervisor for 28 yrs now . I can honestly say that society has changed and not for the better , iid checks for everyone are definetly the way forward , it deters a lot of trouble makers as they can be identified and logged onto our database and then shared with other businesses. , police. , cab services etc .

I would rather socialise in a premises that is in control of its clients . Than a bar / premises that is in it purely for out and out profit and sod the publics safety . These sort of places don't last long anyway. . Especialy nowadays with the licensing being up to local councils rather than the police. Too much trouble and your licence is withdrawn .

How can a 14 year old pay, for not wearing a seat belt? The fine is £100 and the child is the one who is prosecuted. How is it enforceable when a 14 year olds source of income, is from their parent(s)?

Edit:- who polices the database (in regards to I.D. checking, so you can log the trouble makers)? It sounds like a system, that could be easily used by someone with a grudge. Unless you take a picture of the person, with their I.D., it could be used by people to start bad mouthing a person(s). Slippery slope that one.

The Very Important System at work crapped out again, just as I was about to close the week and open the next one. And that's after five hours of scheduled maintenance yesterday.

That, and I'm apparently terrible at electronics. To say nothing of needing to do some more electronics shopping, as 10kOhm resistors throttle the circuit down to nothing.

Oh, and one more thing. I placed an order with a local webstore on Saturday. I reminded them yesterday that I ordered some stuff and would like to know the delivery date. Today morning, I get a half-assed letter that they just found my payment and sent the goods.

Wankers.

I can't believe this *suitcase*. Almost none of the instructions regarding a NE555 timer that are available online give resistor values that would be close to reality. So what the 10kOhm resistors throttle the circuit down to nothing at 5V input voltage? Slap a 150kOhm *fruitcage* or two on that *badgeress*, I don't care!

And so, the only one that gave sane resistor values was some obscure one on Instructables.

I get tonsiloliths (or similar spelling) which are horrid little pebbles made of food particles, snot and bacteria in my tonsils.

I get them because my tonsils are utterly ruined, they are in tatters.  They look like swiss cheese, there is more hole than flesh.

The tonsililiths absolutely stink and give me bad breath.  Sometimes when I am running or cycling one is dislodged by my heavy breathing and lands in my mouth.  If I accidentally bite down on it the smell and taste is so bad I am nearly sick.

I have a waterpick which is like a jet wash for my mouth, it gets rid of them but that also makes me gag and I don't have one at work.

The NHS won't cut my tonsils out because of money.

I'm considering chopping them out myself R. Feinnes style.

I also get those. I just get a pair of long tweezers ( The kind you feed reptiles with) and push either side of it to pop them out. Make sure youre looking over a mirror so they fall out of your mouth though. It's kind of gross, like squeezing alien eggs out of your tonsils. You'll need exceptionally good control over your gag reflex to pull this off.
