The person who said their kid might look more like the dad because "they might have more of his DNA"...seems people have been skipping Biology classes.

And I don't get the Pistorious thing either, barring him being a rich and famous git. He's *fruitcage* guilty. He "woke up" and his partner wasn't in bed with him, then locates someone in the bathroom  and shoots through the door, despite not knowing where she is? Even if not guilty of murder that is criminal negligence there.

There is just so much fail with that story that I can't take it seriously, I am sure something dodgy has been going on for it to end up so random as it has.

Though I suppose as a reward / punishment they could make him watch this over and over again til he gets his 'skillz' down:

:P

Isn't that true of all specialist, be it personal trainers/instructors or what Costa does? Kind of makes me think it's a case of a simple idea that only seems simple after it's been done. Can't say I like the bloke, but he's made a few bucks from showing people how to handle a weapon (be it pistol or rifle etc) and made a brand out of it.

I just love how some people think, what Pistoris has done, was just an accident. He meant to kill without knowing who was in the bathroom. That's premeditated, so he's guilty of murder.

Russia has warned that US air strikes against militants in Syria would be a "gross violation" of international law.

Ah ha ha.  So it's it's only OK for Russia to go into other countries and kill people.  They really do live on another planet.

They hadn't become ISIS, or as they like to be known now IS (just plain jane; Islamic State), yet when the US/UK were helping out. Though there were a lot of rebel groups in Syria and surrounding areas at the time ( when the US/UK helped out). Well, they hadn't started ethnic cleansing (at that point).

Not really pro isis, the reason that we didn't intervene in Syria originally, was because nobody could work out who the *fruitcage* we were supposed to be helping. On one side we had relatively liberal democratic rebels, but then Islamists aligned themselves with them, then they started fighting each other and god knows who else. In the end, the government just gave up.

Russia does not want American and British intervention because they, like half the Arab states are terified that the one outcome of this war is a large independent Kurdish state with one of the best equipped, largest and most loyal armies in the M/E. this would be bad for Iran, Russia's ally, and Syria, but also for Turkey, which is increasingly aligning itself away from NATO.

Yet, curiously, it's the Kurdish Peshmerga who actively fight against the Islamic State and hold them back. And the two most common opinions on Kurds I've heard are:

1. They're very solid - if you deal with a Kurd, you can be sure he's honest.

2. Pity the fool who messes with a Kurd. You them off, they'll hunt you down relentlessly. Guess what the IS just did.

Also, IIRC, since the early 2000s, Turkey backed down from their institutionalized harassment of Kurds - they're not granting them autonomy or anything, but it's at least a ceasefire.

Roadworks in front of my window. Like, two *fruitcage*-off huge sidewalks and two-lane street being rebuilt from scratch. Two more weeks of this torture, and the warm weather forces me to keep the window open. On a cold day that's much less of a problem.

Let's hope I don't go bonkers from the noise. Enough that I can't focus on my work.

Trying to juggle two support desks at one is not a lot of fun. One is lots of cases that are easy to respond to, the other is large cases that need work done but are few and far between.

The fact one is in Belgium and has people giving me all sorts of replies really, really doesn't help.

Why do people have to go on holiday and leave things to me?

My front wheel is coming today.

I am happy.

I keep checking the online tracker, it is still "out for delivery".

I am delayed at work with a student who needs help, it's OK, I haven't missed it - it is still down as "out for delivery".

My wife comes home and there is a docket saying that I will have to collect it.

It is still down as "out for delivery".

That's not tracking - thats *suitcase*.

I am sad.

Some *fruitcage* council pleb in Beaconsfield has decided to add a cycle lane and some other lane that looks like a cycle lane but people are parked in it to a stretch of road reducing a two lane road into one and half . So if, God forbid, two cars need to pass each other, you have to drive in the cycle lane.  This can't be right surely?  It's bloody dangerous.
