Hissing_Sid
It would appear that David Cameron, the new Tory leader, has given Boris Johnson the job of shadow minister for education. http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk_politics/4515500.stm
Sledge
I for one welcome this move in politics. The slick, spin-doctored types have failed. It's time amiable buffoons were given a shot. If Boris had been Tory leader at the General Election, I'd have voted Tory.

Frangible
You know, I'm all for 'characters' in politics and people who don't fit the stereotyped, PR-friendly, Colgate-white-toothy-smiled, smug, bouffant-haired, 'on message' kind of *albartroth* who seems to infest our political (and pseudo-political) systems and who apparently proliferate throughout our society with every passing year... However.. Boris' messy-haired, bumbling, vaguely genial (if you're not from Liverpool that is) dizzy upper-class twit act strikes me as just that - an act. It's totally contrived, much like Bob Geldoff's scruffiness. It wouldn't surprise me if David Cameron was sharing a line of something 'inspiring' with Geoge Osborn when they thought up this particular idea. However, what do I know? He can't be any worse than the bunch of clowns we've got running the country at the moment!
doc_newstead
You're making the assumption Boris Johnson has parents. Personally, I've always figured he was a pod-person. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Well his old man is a peer isn't he? He was on HIGNFY. And he's exactly the same, only bigger EDIT: He's not a peer, but he was an MEP for a bit. Hooray.
Sledge
And having seen Boris' dad, it seems clear that's no act, it's just the Johnson way. Vote Boris: how can he be worse?
The Waco Kid
I'd love to have Boris as PM. Imagine Dubya trying to talk to him. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> *fruitcage* Changed to: Holy *fruitcage*
Steve Pearson
Boris can't help but always speak his mind and tell everyone what everyone esle is up to, sometimes rather recklessly. I'd vote for him, at least he's got a sense of humour.
