LoneWolf
1. Dremel off some metal brackets from the bottom of the receiver. Not tough at all. 2. CA released theirs to buy, I thought. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Will +1 for pics of the modded area Cheers, Mike ™
AustinWolv
No sweat, I'll do it later today. But I do stuff like that to help, not to get rep points. This will get you started though: http://www.lonestarairsoft.com/forums/imag...rsoft%20003.jpg It is an old article I did, look under Add-On Cosmetics: http://www.lonestarairsoft.com/forums/arti...rticle&artid=26 Same concept, I can take pics specific to the CA if you like. AustinWolv
Here are the two locations you would cut. The handguard brackets attach to the receiver here: http://www.lonestarairsoft.com/forums/phot...o/2844/size/big http://www.lonestarairsoft.com/forums/phot...o/2845/size/big On the TOP, they were a different part, and it was solid receiver under there. On the CA, they left a huge gap in the receiver there, presumably for battery storage for the Para (?), so I'm unsure how their RIS attaches. ON the Para version, they made those brackets removeable via screws, they aren't welded on. Why they would do it differently between the MkII and the Para is just a guess. Kinda stupid really. One of the fellows in the CA249 thread could shed some light on it for ya.
Zombie666
Ok people. One damn final question 1. What do you have to do to fit a RIS/RAS on the MkII? How much to do? 2. Where can I get a CA MkII stock? Argh! 3. A Sanyo 9.6V 1100mAH is the largest batt I can get, will that be enough for skirmish use? (Ok, that was 3, not one.....) Cheers, Mike ™ <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I used a 1200mAh 8.4 in my CA 249, it held up pretty well, I got about 6,000 rnds down before it quit and it was a freezing cold day, this seems to shorten the amount of time you get out of a battery, don't know why, too technical for me. I did borrow a great double pack custom battery which I believe was 3,000 mAh and 9.6v, I'd definitly consider getting one as the ROF went through the roof and it was still going strong after putting out another 7-8000 rnds. Wish I'd got the guys details as I think he runs an airsoft store.
Hillslam
Ok Lonewolf, I just assumed you've had a CA M249 forever already. Guess I was basing that off your sig pic. In any event - welcome to the support gunning brotherhood. (BTW- you'll also need larger boxer shorts, as just owning a 249 makes your wee wee bigger) EDIT: Oh yeah, I've seen the RAS upper and lower on a CA in person. They look nice on it (though not my cup of tea, also a MkII guy) and the owner, not the most technical of types, didn't mention it was a big deal to mount. These guys here have you covered. EDIT 2: You guys flailing about in the ISAACKs crack me up. Yeh buncha Geardo pimps. But God love ya trudging that monster harness around. Me, give me 2 belt mounted saw pouches, enough for 10k worth of bbs in ziplock baggies and tools and maps and sundry stuff, throw some beef jerky in the bdu pockets and gatorade in the camelbak and I'm golden.
