Hissing_Sid
Just wondering how come we can't attach stuff like Excel spreadsheets to posts? Is it deliberate or just a problem with the forum software? If it's the latter, would it be ok if I renamed a .xls file to .jpg then posted it and gave people instructions for how to convert it back? Obviously if posting .xls files is "against da rulez" then I don't wanna do it.
Arnie
Wierd document formats can have viruses in them. If you need to post graphic data, use the jpeg format - if you need to post data, post it in CSV format in a text file.
nmcabecadas
You also can convert the document to PDF and upload it.
Silver
Sorry for bringing an old topic up. But you should also block bitmap images. I believe for IE users there was an exploit that had something to do with attached bitmaps and how there displayed? This was a long time ago, and may have been patched now, if it has I'll shut up now! [edit] And the fact that bmp's are just bloody huge! Arnie
Ah that exploit was for JPGs I believe, and there's not much I can do about it unfortunately. People just have to ensure that they have their computers patched and updated properly
