r.ocelot
Maybe not be a set of Kirin grips, but these are actually better: Larry Davidson's Monkey Grips: Steel magwell for the V12 as well. Thanks hkssr20det!
Fellowz
i soo want a V12
r.ocelot
For a good reason too. They're just fantastic, as I'm sure other owners can testify. The one thing I hate is that the barrel doesn't move back when the slide is moving, unless you're pointing above the x-axis. CAUTION: Don't stare for too long at the grips, you may experience dizziness.
RSP1
Looks awesome, esp. the grips. Do they look less, well, confusing in real life?
r.ocelot
Depends on how far you're from the gun. 5 inches away? Not so much. Anywhere over 1 ft = instant headache.
hkssr20det
Monkey Grips for life! The TM Delta below is also rocking Monkey Grips: Full metal TM 1911s PGC Colt M1911A1 PGC Colt Delta Elite Guarder Springfield Armory M1911A1 (for sale soon) Edited September 11, 2007 by hkssr20det
rhyyke
hkssr20det, how was the fit on the pgc kit? how much modding did it take to make it work? im thinking of getting the SA one myself. Edited September 11, 2007 by rhyyke
my_plague_666
but sometimes it does and other times it dont. thats what is wierd. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> temperature difference. but i would put it down to lack of gas, TM 1911s are known to only just hold enough gas even with a standard valve and plastic slide
ViciousV10s
Beautiful TMs HKS, the only thing I dont like is that silver trigger, it looks strangely out of place.
BigAl
Yeah, the Thunder Ranch Grips look odd on this aswell, better on a tuned up combat piece. Still nice guns.
hkssr20det
I am thinking about swapping the body to the SFA kit, but I like the UNERTL trigger, it still remains one of my favorite parts. The new sights are amazing, crisp, clear silver dots which look milled in. The Delta took some fitting in terms of rail to slide fitment (just some basic sanding), but the leg of the outer barrel was cut all wrong (and my second kit is screwy as well). I basically had to reshape it and lower the locking point so the gun would fire without binding up. That was a new one to me.

TheLair
Ive never really been a huge fan of the DE, but that looks damn good
BigAl
Love that first shot with the Colgate Glint ( the light reflecting of the medalion ). Looks great definately worth the work, though you should finish it off with the correct hammer. Edited September 11, 2007 by BigAl
hkssr20det
I have a ring hammer but waiting to fit it when my new longer flat trigger shows up so it will be closer to correct. I am going to try the Hi Capa 4.3 safety as well, closer to the RS but not fully correct.
ferretkiller
hkssr20det, That Pistol is amazing!!! If i were ever to build a sidearm i would like it to look like that.
davedawg123
I'm considering getting a long recoil spring guide and plug set for my TM M1911A1. Has anyone tried the PDI, Carom, or Nineball set?
hkssr20det
I tried the Nine Ball and it broke, but Junior is using it fine now. Don't know what happened but the rod separated from the rear housing on me (even with the ABS slide). I use a silver PDI and it is perfect, typical PDI quality. Carom shot parts seem to be really nice and solid, close to PDI quality if not the same.
davedawg123
Thanks. PDI and Carom are steel, right?
hkssr20det
Yup. PDI is a two piece affair (like WA). I assume Carom Shot is as well.

davedawg123
Could someone take a close up pic of a RS grip bushing or one from a PGC kit for TM M1911A1? I'd like to see if a RS grip bushing is compatible with my Prime frame for TM.
hkssr20det
Ask and you shall receive:
davedawg123
Thanks. I thought RS grip bushings were compatible with PGC's frame? Those bushings look like they slip in from underneath instead of screwing in.
