krame
I think some of them look good. Someone should try to build one. Has anybody used Alumarips. I'm thinking of getting some clear anodized ones for my TM. Edited November 25, 2007 by krame
lupduck
The SV Tiki is beautiful, very good for Concealed carry, hella pricey though. Collin Farrell used one in Miami Vice, a touch by Michael Mann. All his main characters use .45.
BADMONKEY
Changed some things up... Chrome slide My poor mans MEU 1911 The frame isn't really gray, but a matte black. What ya think?
Romulus
I really like the lines of that gun. For some reason it just looks like it's a tough no-nonsense piece (though I can't put my finger on why) Are you planning on coating your polish job with something so that it doesn't tarnish? BADMONKEY
Yeah I've been thinking about it, not really sure what to coat it with, any suggestions? Something to make it scratch resistant too would be nice.
Romulus
I normally use automotive clear coat on my polish projects and so far it's worked well every time I have used it. I would recommend using something though because it doesn't take long for a surface to start oxidizing.
HellsAngel
Or do you mean annodize... lol Edited November 26, 2007 by HellsAngel
Vamp V^^V
I think he's talking about a polished surface losing it's 'sheen' I don't think that's anodizing.
HellsAngel
I'm taking the ###### out of myself from making a mistake about the word a few pages previously... Nevermind... Lol
Vamp V^^V
Lol, sorry mate, didn't see that
Romulus
I guess that that was a bit of a subtle joke. but yeah....
krame
Put the bull barrel and guide rod setup from my hi-capa on my WE.
Romulus
That actually looks surprisingly good. I guess that I am a fan of full length recoil rods. Did you happen to see it you could fit the 1911 guts in your Hi-Capa? Edited November 27, 2007 by Romulus
hound
i've got to agree with romulus there, the guide rod does look good on the WE. If i'd known that a WE could look that good i could have saved myself a fortune getting one instead of the FM WA's
RockDog
ok Ive had another bash at reassembling my tm1911-a1 into the pgc frame. Top slide is all done with shooters design barrel & chamber and a nineball guide rail. Weighs in a bit now I can tell ya, Im still working on the hammer mech though, so thats why it isnt fully complete yet...doh! I seriously like yours Krame, good work. krame
Thanks guys. Thats looking like a nice gun RockDog. How is the nine ball recoil rod. I might get that one for my TM. That actually looks surprisingly good. I guess that I am a fan of full length recoil rods. Did you happen to see it you could fit the 1911 guts in your Hi-Capa? Thanks, I was surprised at how good it looked too. I love full length recoil rods on 1911's. I haven't tried swapping the blowback chambers but the WE bareel and other guts don't work in the guarder slide. The recoil spring bushing doesn't fit and the barrel bushing wont work because the slide doesn't have notch to lock the bushing. Edited November 27, 2007 by krame
Clockwork_O
Looks very good Rockdog, is it maybe possible to take some high qualty pics of your gun? I'm looking forward receiving my Silver PGC'd 1911 Greetings
hkssr20det
Thanks guys. Thats looking like a nice gun RockDog. How is the nine ball recoil rod. I might get that one for my TM. I have used the Nine Ball. It was OK, not as high quality as the FireFly reods with bearings. For a 1911 I prefer the PDI Unit. Highest Quality, stainless steel.
krame
Thanks hks. Just got my TM 1911.
FriendlyFire!
Where'd you get your TM 1911 from without getting the trades removed, Krame? Edited November 28, 2007 by FriendlyFire!
hkssr20det
Fit the beavertail. Not so easy, and I still have a few parts to finalize.

hkssr20det
Wilson Combat. It did require real fitting.
Whitedingo
Wilson Combat. It did require real fitting. And it doesn't quite contour to the frame right...huh. The hole for the thumb safety is off, isn't it? That's what happened when I fit a real one to my WA. Pictures!
