hkssr20det
I just doesn't fit the notches. It seats perfectly within the frame and with the curve. In the end I could live without it, but now it's done. Next time it will be a RS Duck Tail.
Romulus
Whitedingo - Let me guess, you like 1911's? Nice collection, it's fun to see peoples group photos hkssr20det - The grip safety looks great. Between it and the comp your Delta is really becoming on of a kind.
Whitedingo
Whitedingo - Let me guess, you like 1911's? Nice collection, it's fun to see peoples group photos Maybe a little I'm working on getting 1 or 2 more, maybe building a set of "Hitman"esque silenced 1911s.
Souske
My unassuming WE1911. I painted the slide with a dark gray, while the bottom frame is still black. I'm not why it's not noticeable in the picture. The contrast isn't that great in person, but it's there.
davedawg123
And it doesn't quite contour to the frame right...huh. The hole for the thumb safety is off, isn't it? That's what happened when I fit a real one to my WA. It's not really a matter of the thumb safety hole being off on the airsoft frame. The Wilson drop-in's contour looks the same even when used with RS. Nice work with the beavertail and mainspring housing, Ben. Wasn't it fun?
hkssr20det
How did you cut a channel? I just removed the bar in the frame. So yeah, lots of fun.
davedawg123
Dremel with carbide bit and an assortment of needle files. Cutting the bar would have been much easier but I didn't want to tamper with the (expensive) frame.
krame
Welcome to the club bro! Now then, get the Series 70 Stainless body for it from Boomarms And get some pictures posted! Take that Subie, and that gun in a case of course down to Ponte Vedra beach at sunrise and get some good images eh? Slainte! LOL. Thats a nice mbk but i'm leaning more towards the sfa kit. But then again not many people have the series 70 kit. I shouldn't even ask this but what about the guarder kits. Their 'cheap' even from US retailers. I'm not buying an mbk until I sell my WE though. Edited November 28, 2007 by krame
Clockwork_O
Very nice 1911 collection Whiteindingo, can you take some closeup pics of each 1911? Greetings

Guarder kits are pretty good- And I agree on the Springfield, I'm just liking the idea of a Stainless or Chrome 1911 after seeing "No Country For Old Men" last weekend Here is my Guarder Springfield with real-steel stocks to replicate the Springfield "G.I." model Slainte! hkssr20det
The Guarder Springfield kit is much nicer than the Colt kit. PGC is worth the price premium though....
krame
I love the simplicity if that gun guinness. So, how is the fitting of the guarder kits. Lots of filing and sanding like I had to do with my guarder slide? If there is I just might go pgc if they fit perfect. Edited November 28, 2007 by krame
hkssr20det
They are roughly on par with each other in terms of fitting. Both require some work to get to cycle smoothly. The PGC is just higher quality.

The PGC is just higher quality. What he said The PGC's weren't available when I did mine, and I really wanted a SPA G.I. replica. I think one of them, maybe it's the new Guarder kits have a 'Hecho in Brazil' or something like that on them now, which is technically accurate, but doesn't exist on the real-steel weapon. Much of SPA's 1911 line is actually forged by Imbel then finished at Springfield. Slainte!

The Wilson drop-in's contour looks the same even when used with RS. Not that I noticed on my RS, but ok. Maybe I wasn't paying attention. ETA: Guess you were right. I reinstalled the Wilson Combat on mine, it doesn't contour quite right. I guess it's the angle of that one picture that makes it look much more pronounced than it really is. krame
I think you guys made it even harder for me to decide now. lol. I thought the guarder kits weren't that good, but now.... I do like how the pgc kits come with the barrel and recoil spring.
Whitedingo
Very nice 1911 collection Whiteindingo, can you take some closeup pics of each 1911? krame
That looks so hot. Very unique gun. Your 1911 with the thunder ranch grips is still my favorite of your 1911s though.
krame
Wierd I can't edit my post above. Anyways the time has come, I know you guys are tired of seeing pics of my WE and I am considering selling it. The problem is I can't think of a good price. I was thinking about $150-$160. Maybe a little more if I sell the american legends with it. Well, whatever here are pics of it again with my old painted stock grips.

wolfstein5
Yeah, it actually looks pretty damn nice with the stock grips. Good stuff guys. *sniff* last post. :'( Edited November 29, 2007 by wolfstein5
Clockwork_O
Because I'm a big fan of the American Legends I prefer them on your polished WE. Very nice gun though it's a pity after all this hours of work you're planning on selling it.... Greetings Milan
HellsAngel
Clockwork O, why don't you just get brand new grips from the US of A? They're not that expensive and would be sprakling new
CplHicks
Can anyone confirm if the proud meusoc grips will fit a TM 1911?
