Wege
Vektor, you have hit it in one. Some people swear by Glocks, some at them. Hand ergonomics and biomechanics vary by individual. Why else do companies like Hogue or Pachmyer or Uncle Mikes or or or (add your own fav brand here) make grips for a variety of guns. I like a variety of handgun 'shapes'. 1911
It all comes back to personal tastes. I love the feel on the grip on 1911, to me it's the 'perfect' one...doesn't even have to do with biomechanics or what have you. Para and hi-cap infinity have too big of a grip for my hand....but even after that being said, i still love them because of their looks. I find Glocks to be phenomenal, who'd thought 50 years ago that someone would come up with a 'plastic' firearm?? And yet it's one of the most owned guns in the US right now? Firing a 1911 .38 super is easy and fun, firing a S&W 9mm tactical is simply a nightmare. but for some people i know, that gun is his perfect handun, the feel, weight everything. But it's just not for me PS. Mods. Please don't lock this thread...i didnt mean to discuss real firearm...just trying to make a point. Thank you. hhsohn
I realize I'm few days late, but I believe Marcus was interested in Alumagrips... Here's my old pair with Clear anodized Alumagrips with dragons photoetched on it. Sadly, the place that I got it from no longer engraves the clears... Base gun: WA 1911-5.0 SCW Clear Alumagrips with Dragon engraved from gungrips.net Gold bead front sight White paint accented "Infinity" logo
Catchv22
Those M1911s are beautiful. I remember them from the old photo galleries. I have em saved on my computer.
1647
yep, in love with the 1911, found my old springer (god knows who made it), dated about 10 years now! wanna get a new one, seems as though you guys are the experts so just wandering if i can pop a quick question..... for GBB which ones have the best trademarks and what are the differences between the Western Arms Colt U.S. M1911A1 Military (new system and old) as den trinity have them both.. Hissing_Sid
To be honest, looking through this thread, the thing I'm most jealous of is the vast variety of custom stuff available for 1911s. FFor me, it's a shame that some of the airsoft manufacturers don't devote more of their time to making some of the stuff that people want for alternative guns instead of simply creating more and more "pimp" parts for 1911s. Don't get me wrong, as bits of engineering some of the pic's on here are marvellous. I couldn't give two sh1ts for a real-steel HRT (or whatever) but, looking at a full-metal airsoft version, it's easy to see that some of you guys have put in a lot of work and had to order a lot of parts from all over the place. I dunno. To me the 1911 will always just be a "grunts gun". It's like the Ford Escort of guns. Yes, I am jealous btw. I just wish WA or somebody would devote one production line to knocking out a metal slide for my TM Mk23 instead of yet another bl00dy 1911 slide which, to me, looks much the same as any other. Coop
Hey guys Not to hijack a perfectly good thread, but I have a 1911 related question or two. I am interested in buying one of these: (Borrowed from http://redwolfairsoft.com) WA SCW SV Infinity 6 Inch (Green) I fell in love with it the second i saw it..... even if it isn't tactical black. But anyway, I am wondering why is it so difficult to find a holster for a 6" Barrel 1911 doublestack? I've been looking through real steel accessory suppliers and all the holsters I can find fit 5 inch barrels. I'm wondering if i should just save myself $17 USD (Redwolf has the 6 inch at $213 USD and the 5" at $196 USD) and buy the 5 inch barrel version. Is there any significant accuracy increase/difference between the 5" barrel and the 6" barrel? What holster solutions do you guys use/recommend? EDIT: here's the 5" for comparason: WA SCW SV Infinity 5 Inch (Green) Awesome pics guys, keep 'em coming! - Coop Edited November 20, 2004 by Coop
Wingman
The 1911 even in Airsoft is one of the most customizable guns ever created. Just look at the pictures of what has been posted in this topic. Absolutely incredible! There is not a single modern pistol out there that can be modified to such a degree as to fit any shooter-none! Look at the up-grades available for airsoft. It speaks for itself. I'm willing to bet that the only airsoft gun out there with as many up-grades available is the M16/M4 rifle. I gotta tell you, there have been some real nice pictures posted here and I'm jealous as hell! Good work you lucky ............

HaVoC
Well if you look at some reviews... They're pistols. They're designed for CQB. If you get either from a reputable manufacturer it'll be decent...
