ViciousV10s
Vicious: Cool gun !! I'm still waiting for the metal kit for my TM1911. Is the metal outerbarrel made of steel or aluminium? I'm considering of getting the barrel as well, and thinking of "bluing" it to make it 'black". <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Aluminum. Very nicely crafted. On a side note FYI guys, I had bought the Creation slide and and barrel set just to use the outer barrel. I wanted a black outer barrel....the Creation outer barrel is HORRIBLE and is not designed properly. I really wonder how some companies do their quality assurance...it's as if they dont even test their product. Anyway, NineBall rocks!
Rcas
<{POST_SNAPBACK}> where'd you get that threaded barrel with the detachable adapter? (i'd say lovely gun but that'd just be redundant)
hitmanNo2
The threaded barrel is from X-fire (PDI) It comes with an adapter. The suppressor is a King Arms Delta Force one. I just screwed the adapter into the suppressor.

Mathub
hitman, does the threaded barrel from xfire attach to a guarder chamber ? Cause guarder chamber usually don't want any other barrel than a guarder one.

Guinness
I have a question for Snowman, Mathub, Hitman, evilhippy, 1911 and the rest of the experts here- I have a 1911 IED 4.3 Infinity that has seen better days- hammer broken, slide cracked, etc. But the blowback unit is in perfect shape. Can anyone advise me what slide and frame I could get? I don't know if the IED series is considered "SCW" or just Infinity or what. I want to salvage the blowback unit and go into a metal frame, just don't know which to select from. Any assistance is greatly appreciated! Slainte! -G Edited October 29, 2006 by Guinness
n00b3r
If you just want to use the BBU, then any metal kit will do. If you want to use the striker pin styled hammer sytem, then you should go with a magna frame.

So I understand, the frame and slide selection isn't dependant on the BBU but does depend on the hammer system I want to use? If I want the older SCW system then get an SCW frame and hammer and springs, if I want to update to the new SCW3 hammer system then get the newer frame and parts but I can use this same BBU in the new slide, is that right? First of all, its not a SCW, its a Magna. You can pretty much use any old metal slide for WA as long as it doesnt use barrel bushing, due to the fact that 4.3" IED is cone barrel, look for any old 4.3" infinity metal slide; it should work. If your blowback breech doesnt fit due to rear sight cutting and screw holes, you need to buy yourself a new breech to fit. I had to buy a new breech, and rear sight for the slide. Metal body is really hard to get now, even then. I got mine when I was on holiday in HK, custom made by Clarence Lai. You can get any type of frame (old magna), and it should fit just fine, the only draw back is if you get the original 5" frame, the dust cover wouldbe too short, 1 solution would be to buy a 6" frame and cut the dust cover. If i may suggest, dont worry about the frame, just get a metal slide. As for your hammer, make sure you order hammer and sear for old magnal or if youre living in the states, and real steel parts are easily available, just order hammer and sear from Chip McCormick. They should be a drop-in fit.
