snowman
Hey thanks for the compliments, I figured i would get laughed at because of all the sweet WA 1911's on this thread. I sanded the paint off the slide using 220 grit, then did it again using 400 then 600. Then I polished the slide with my dremel using NOXON metal polish which gave it a pretty good shine. Lastly I hand polished it with BLUE MAGIC. The only things i painted were the grips, I guess it just looks more matte because of the bad lighting in the picture. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Nice job - Did you just polish the sides of the slide, or the top too? Cheers.
junior
Thanks, I did polish the top also. Trying to keep the grain looking nice around the sights was a pain in the rear but it came out OK. On another note, does anybody know if this Sheriff Trigger trigger will fit my WE 1911? I think I rather just buy one than attempt to take off and polish the trigger thats on there now. Edited January 5, 2007 by junior
phoenix360mute
that things made for a WA, and barely fits it at that, that peice of junk cost me a trigger bar due to rage

Guinness
Well, lighting is not exactly the same, so I can't tell. BTW, scw grips look better. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Yeah, sorry about the lighting, it was in a cold-a$$ garage and that plywood was the best looking backdrop available I agree the SCW looks better, but that is probably because its the one in a metal kit with real wood grips. $10 bucks from CheaperThanDirt BTW. I think the TM's looks great once kitted out, and I plan on throwing a Guarder Springfield kit on the one I buy. HitmanNo2- Excellent work as usual! Question: one of the things that has kept me away from Springfield kits in the past was the slide serrations through the 'Springfield Custom' text on the front, none of yours have that though- are those older slides or was that just a fluke? Slainte! -G
BigAl
Hitman, lovely guns mate. If you ever sell that Compact or either of the full size silver guns give me first dibs please.
hitmanNo2
Guinness, the Springfield slides with the serrations through the custom logo are only found on the PGC MEU late kits to my knowledge (and the J-Armory MEU late) The PGC kits are correctly based on the real MEU where the front serrations were added to an existing slide with the custom logo. Prime decided to leave out that detail on their MEU kit (which mine is). BigAl, if I get desperate, i'll let you know. Edited January 7, 2007 by hitmanNo2
