ViciousV10s
I like the wood grips better myself. The second set of grips look like a triscuit cracker. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> LOL you read my mind! All it needs it some cheese! On a serious note tho, nice 1911s Mr Sylvia. I also prefer the non-Triscuit style grips tho.
pokethepope
TM Springfield Armory M1911A1 <snip> <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Thats the Guarder Springfield kit right? How does it compare to the PGC 1911 kit? cheers
ViciousV10s
Thats the Guarder Springfield kit right? How does it compare to the PGC 1911 kit? cheers <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I've owned and fitted both kits as well. The PGC is MUCh nicer, fit and finish is way above the Guarder. Fuser
But almost too nice to skirmish with, lol.
pokethepope
But the Guarder kit is good enough for the money if you dont want to spend the extra on the PGC due to Render's reason?

hkssr20det
what outer barrel did you use in your Springfield? I'm in the process of building my Springfield out of TM 1911, but haven't found a outer barrel yet. I'm thinking of a sliver one, but haven't found it at any retailers. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> The silver barrel is a Nine Ball, Dentrinity is still carrying them. The Springfield has a Tanio Koba fitted, which is very nice. Barsto markings, threaded for use with an adapter. Both are good choices. I would prefer SD, due to the extra weight, but these options work just fine. The Guarder kit is not as nice as the PGC. The action is not as smooth (but mine was just fit). It isn't noticeably heavier. I think it is worth the cost, especially if you buy from HK. But this gun does shoot hotter than my PGC. Could be just the fact it is brand new or some tolerances are different between kits.

the cleaner
Too bad this doesn't have a full length dust cover/rail like the RS I've seen. . never seen this variant in RS w/ square trigger guard. The end of the dust cover/rail is suppose to at an angle, not cut straight 90 degrees. It shoot line up with your "R".
SamJacksonFan
You really wanna go hard on me and make me ruin my key board from all the water dripping out of my mouth … uh A Springfield 1911 G.I. wolfstein5
I don't like the look of the trigger guard on the Operator (or the rail, to be honest), but the Springfield M1911A1 with the wood grips had my mouth watering. hitmanNo2
hkssr20det, is that PGC Operator kit from a new run or is it old stock?
hkssr20det
The upper is older stock, but the frame is supposedly a new one, according to BoomArms.
the cleaner
I'm sure others have heard about the full metal AMT Hardballer kit?
hitmanNo2
Yep, someone posted in the user review of the AMT. It's in stock at redwolf and BoomArms. I had just decided not to get a Hardballer when I went to order one at GnG and found they were out of stock. However seeing this kit makes me want one now. The finish looks quite different to the WA finish though, so the parts will stand out possibly. edit - Kind of a mini review on the site - AMT Hardballer review Edited August 24, 2007 by hitmanNo2
axl
The review you're talking about was that on this forum or somewhere else because i cant find it here? EDIT: aha! thank you hitmanNo2 Edited August 24, 2007 by axl
r.ocelot
I like it, looks like they finally redesigned the plunger tube so it won't fall out as much. EDIT: I may be wrong, but it looks as if they redesigned the bushings as well. Edited August 25, 2007 by r.ocelot

ruchik
I thought the older Operator's had the straight, partial dust cover? Or did they only have the full length dust covers, and the one with the angled cut at the end? *edit: here's a pic of a real steel operator, I can only imagine it must be an older version of the oeprator, the one the Boomarms kit is modeled after. *double edit: Hmmm, doesn't have the square trigger guard.
