Titleist
Not really, red light is more important, as it doesn't mess with your human night vision. Your eyes are more photo sensitive at night to green (i.e Night Vision Goggles) but blue...blue just has no use at night.
Raven 6
True that. I guess I'll just remove it then since I already have 2 white leds and one red on the cheapo energizer headlamp. Edited July 2, 2008 by Raven
SGAT_Specter
Just curious guys, as I want to put a 3 hole Norotos on my MICH, is it difficult to drill through kevlar?
Wrench Bender
Get three sharp good quality drill bits and use something like a block of wood for a backing plate. This will help keep the blowout on the back to a minimum... and don't get cheap bits.
SGAT_Specter
Thanks, why three, because by the time I'm done with one hole, it'll be worn out?
Wrench Bender
kevlar will chew up a bit pretty good and fast. If you don't use all three take the others back. I have used kevlar in fabric form for patching holes on aircraft. It is pretty hard on any kind of cutting tools that you or I can afford.
SGAT_Specter
Ah, okay. Thanks!
The Thief Lord
Anybody have an idea as to what replica MICH to get, I'm looking to make a current U.S. Army loadout, but really don't want to drop $200+ on a real one. I'd like a heavier one and one that's solid and not hollow and plasticky like some of the replica's I've seen. Also, it needs to be compatible with the Blackhawk ARPAT (ACU) MICH cover, as I've already acquired one. With so many different MICHs, I'm a bit lost. Any ideas? nilz
I have a Bulle one that's pretty decent (aside from the chinstrap, which should be replaced immediately). Friend of mine has a Toy Soldier, which has a thick shell and is weighty.
HaVoC
I have a J-Tech. It's alright - does the job well enough. Pads and chinstrap are complete junk compared to the real ones though, so get some if you can. CapaciousZepher
My work in progress PASGT replica. It's got an Oregon Aero suspension system inside (thanks masakarijoe), just waiting on the pads now. I've also got an NVG mount on the way. All that remains after that is a strobe/distress marker thing for the back. Â Â Â Â Cheers! Â - CapaciousZepher

Master Chief Goaty
Ah, I see. Being in the USMC, you don't get a real NOD? Or are you not in an MOS that requires such? Â I noticed your 1X is for sale. Interested in trading? If so, what kind of hardwear would I need to mount it on my MICH?
