ianhaz
Im sure somewhere in this thread a guy had covered the polymer parts of his L85 with desert dpm material, and it looked ace. There are some pictures of squaddies who have done the same floating around somewhere too, i guess thats where he got his inspiration. As to plain tan plastic parts, never actually seen it, but it sounds awesome! If i had a desert to play in i would love to do one of these methods to my L85, but unfortunately its my woodland weapon (well, my everything weapon till i fix my G36 or downgrade my m733), and it would stick out like a sore thumb
Lerch
Yeah, there's that one shot from Iraq or Afghanistan, of the soldier with an L85A2 and UGL that were covered in the desert DPM fabric. There's other pictures of recce tape being wrapped around and sprayed, or the odd case of someone spraying the furniture itself, although I'm sure that's frowned upon
TheFull9
Yeah, wrapping it in some sort of tape or DPM fabric is always reversible, I would expect the bloke that actually sprayed the parts could well have been marching around in Number 1s at 10pm for a few nights when he got home. With the grenade launcher it looks really bulky. afallan as long as you're strong, no problems. it's actually balanced out with the UGL so you can sometimes move a bit easier. king_P90
Out of interest where can I get hold of one of those mounts for a maglite? Cheers  Rich  The maglite & attached bracket are fairly easy to get hold of, the difficult bit is finding the strip of metal that attaches to the handguard (top right pic) I have only ever seen two complete units for sale.  Ebay or militaria fairs are the places to look.

Would you mind sharing the pictures with me too. For that matter, keep us (or at least me please) updated on your progress if it's not too much trouble. How are you planning to do it?
