My buddy's been shot from ~70 feet with a 300 fps AEG and his arms started bleeding. I've been shot from the same range with a 550 fps PSG-1 in the cheek and it was just red for a couple of minutes. 600 fps, if used in conjunction with a minimum-engagement distance rule and an operator who isn't a retard shouldn't pose any real danger.
