AqualungJM
Hey, My very first AEG is in the mail ( ) and I wanted to know if ought to run out and buy some .25 gram bbs or just stick with my .20s? In other words, is there really that much of a difference in performance? -AqualungJM-
Hissing_Sid
If it's under 1J then .2s will be fine. If it's higher then you're probably better off using .25s
AqualungJM
Ah God, I hate bein' a newb. How much is 1J? I 'm guessing it means unusually high fps. I'm pretty sure an uncustomized AK47 is below is below 1J since fps is 265 to 285. -AqualungJM-
sp00n
1J = 328FPS I use .25s in my AEGs, my Uzi is stock, and its much more accurate with .25s, but the range is cut slightly.
Hissing_Sid
1J = 328FPS<{POST_SNAPBACK}> That's 328fps with 0.2g BBs. With 0.25s it's closer to 290fps.
AqualungJM
Alright, thanks people. I think I might use up my .20s then I'll go buy some .25s. Its not like you have to be accurate with an AK47 anyway...you just have to point the gun in their general direction and most likely you'll get a kill .
Longhairedhippy
i know the feeling. just yesterday, i discovered that my AK has sights.
Corporate_Black_Ops
Your stock AK will put out somewhere in the region of two hundred and eighty feet per second on a 0.2g BB, if you use 0.25g BBs it should put out something closer to two hundred and fifty feet per second - note that this will reduce your range by what may be quite a significant margin. Most people (that I know at least) use 0.2g BBs in AEGs, because it's their primary and the range advantage is more important to them than the slight increase in grouping... Plus 0.2s are significantly cheaper than 0.25s.
Megalomaniac
I thought the best BB's for AEGs were .23s since they were a middle ground good range and still accurate.
Un_FriendlyFire
Pfft .20s are cheaper, i tend to use a lot of ammo... end of discussion for me lol
AqualungJM
Do they really decrease the range that much? I thought .25s would only decrease them by 10 fps or so. Well, good thing I got about 10,000 .20s in my room I think I'll go for .23s instead. Thanks again everybody. -AqualungJM-
