I don't have a good photo of the entire suit put together...but I thought you folks might like to see my Smartgun

Some custom made linked 'caseless' rounds.

It's all built with a wide assortment of parts- MG-42 replica, UK and Japanese motorcycle parts, MG-42 parts, and some custom pieces. The switches do still work. I have the big red horn switch wired to an RCA connector so I can use it to trigger a sound-effects card linked to a speaker. If only there was an affordable MG-42...I might CONSIDER giving it the treatment. The wiring would certainly be easy enough. But then again, I would probably use it as-is. A smartgun is a pretty imposing piece of machinery though :D

The only tutorial I had was the movie (Aliens, of course) and some behind the scenes photos of Jeannete Goldstein and Mark Ralston with the guns.

It was built on a pretty low budget, probably about $450-500 spread out since mid 2002. Time though, tons. When I was building it I would spend a good 6 hours a day well into the middle of the night out in the garage. JB Weld and my Dremel are lifesavers.

I mounted it on my car at one point for grins:
