[VT]Mofo2000
That mountain region looks familiar. Was the game held near the campus of Chinese University of HK?
doc_newstead
I love how they give a *beep* out there. Over here, every sadsack is content to buy the cheapest kit possible, and then proceed to look down their nose at everyone else, under pretensions of moral superiority. If I turned up to that game in full kit, I'd expect to either get no reaction, or maybe a compliment, as it seems that half the fun is the dressing up. Over here, people will make back-handed comments like "Wow, do you really need a vest that big?" etc... ¬_¬ Edited April 10, 2006 by doc_newstead

indefatigablematt
Hi all, this is Matt from HK, i actually study in London but I am currently in HK for my Easter. I was fortunate enough to be able to take part in this game. I am the one with the blue UN beret (in the pic with all the British players) or the maroon RE officer beret (in the pic with everyone) that you see from the above. It was a great day with 180 or so participants. here are several answers to the questions above: Re up2wind: The entry fee was HK$160 (this includes free transport from the city centre, lunch and a free drink), which is around 11 or 12 quid, Gears are available for hire for an extra cost of $100, which is around 8 quid. This includes an AEG of some sort, 3000 BBs, a mask and a set of camouflage. Re BARsrule2: Yes that is a Gimpy that belongs to those RMs you see in that british pic, i have played around with it and it is not actually that heavy. I think they DIYed it a few years ago. For more info, visit www.RM45.com, they have full descriptions there. Re DirtyMoFo: That hummer was made from a frame added on to a trolley. I was the 'driver'. It was actually buletproof until the door hing fell of after i hit a pothole. The wheels twited that the same time....so it only lasted for 5 mins in the game. I was rained with a hail of BBs, fortunately i had my Mk6 helmet on. It was a pig to 'drive' since it is so darn heavy....This is how it looks like without the bodywork Re [VT]Mofo2000: It is no where near the Chinese University, this was actually in Yuen Long, northwest HK Extra info, There were a total of 180 participants split into 4 teams, the maximum power for all AEGs in the game was 1.2J. There were a total to 3 missions. The first was more or less a conventional deathmatch, which A team played against B, C against D Second mission was A and D Vs B and C, this is the mission where the 'Humvees' were used to 'evacuate' the players of A and D while B and C tries to attack the fort defened by A and D. Both humvees broke down after evacuating the first round of 4 players. So for the rest of the game there were no evacuations. A second round was played with A and D attacking.(sorry about the chinese, this is from the offical website) The final mission was a free 'capture the flag mission, each team plays against all the other teams. I was in team A, which was stuck in the middle surrounded by all the other teams, we made an alliance with 2 of the other 3 teams to start with, but amid confusions, it went pear shaped and we started to attack each other, and we were slaughtered. It was a good laugh though. here is one of my personal pics me and 14692
hivemind
Why all the face blocking? Surely no one really cares...
indefatigablematt
Why all the face blocking? Surely no one really cares... <{POST_SNAPBACK}> This seems to be a traditional mindset of the Chinese people prefer to be humble and remain anonymous...this is why most would rather have their identity covered especially some of these pics were used in forums in HK remember HK is a small place, and there are only a few places where aisofters go. I personally don't mind showing my face
