Jagdraben
I wonder why... <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Because we've never had a single African colony? Because we've never sold a one to an African nation?
CobaltSky
You took the words right out of my mouth Jag. Although I'd have said "they've" instead
Belladonna
Because we've never had a single African colony? Makeing up for lost time? Jagdraben
Makeing up for lost time? What's that supposed to mean? why dont i beleave that? (your govt sold them to everyone else! <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Possibly South Africa and possibly Egypt. Other than those? Nope. Most of them have wound up in Israel, the other Americas, the Phillipines, various states in the Baltic and Balkans, and the Republic of China.
Ubar
just when you thought it was all over from the top secret FIST proving facility...
doc_newstead
Because we've never had a single African colony? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> The American Colonization Society established Liberia as a place to send freed African-Americans. Match point. And Ubar, you're not supposed to talk about it mate. See you at H.
Jagdraben
Match point. And Ubar, you're not supposed to talk about it mate. See you at H. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Which would be the American Colonization Society. Not the United States government. Saying that the United States established Liberia as an American colony is like saying that the attack on Harper's Ferry was launched by the United States government. Blackwire
Nothing like a war to increase military spending! but in all seriousness, It's about time the MOD start investing in new equipment for our boys, be it new vehicles, body armour or scopes. It's a good thing.
rifleman
Agreed, SUSAT is a fantastic system, especially so at 100M plus. You can't fail to hit things with them when shooting. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Which, at the end of the day, is the most important thing in combat. The further away you can shoot the enemy, the less chance he has to stick pointy bits of metal into you.
starburst
How about get a SCAR and stick an SUSAT on it? yes, no, mayb? Thats a thought, can you get an adaptor to bolt a SUSAT onto other weapons (the mountings different isnt it?) as Ive seen a STAR adaptor so you could put other sights on their SA80 but how about other way round? Lance Jackass
Army code make a 19mm dovetail rail to fit SUSATs to other replicas.

Lance Jackass
I've seen SUSATS on airsoft minimis - which looks very nice. So i figure with some bodgery, you should be able to fit them to anything. Might look good on the new CA Hk53, perhaps? There was also a mount to fit a SUSAT to a diemaco apparently. Spacemonkey
Interesting reading... Notes: The Dutch use ELCANs on their Diemacos, and their own bastardisation of DPM hence maybe the confusion? FN FALs were/are Belgian, although the SLR was made in Britain under license. The M14 was great in it's day, but even the new versions don't quite live up to expectations according to most current US gun mags 'serving' contibutor's. The FN FAL is the most widely used postwar military rifle. Ok, more AK variants have been produced, but more countires have adopted the FAL than any other mil rifle- over 30- more than the AK. The FN FAL has legally culled more elephants than any other gun. Totally off topic, but interesting and surprising fact I'm sure.. ) The US Army has ordered and receieved DSA's FAL Shorty with folding stock and obligatory rails for issue to some specialist units that require a compact 7.62. ps, I'm a big fan of FN FALs.. Anyway, carry on chaps..
Jagdraben
That's interesting, given that we already have two other rifles for that: The Mk17 Mod 0 SCAR-H-CQC and the Mk14 Mod 1 EBR-CQC.
Spacemonkey
Indeed... but you gotta admit, the folding para stock equipped DSA58 is kinda sexy... an AS variant would be rather tasty too..
