G model is a shortened version of the k98

no, it is not.

atleast not when it comes to the Tanaka Kar98,

i have two and they are just the same size of the Kar98 made by Mauser in 1941.

The G on the Tanaka Kar98 means it has a option to put in some hollow

screws inside bolt to regulate the gas flow.

you will be lucky to still find a brand new Tanaka Kar98 for sale in shops,

try to look in the buy/sell ad's for a used one is your best chance.

actually, they're still making them

how do i know? because i bought a brand new one just over 2 weeks ago, and it had the new restrictor valve to limit the power to comply with the new japanese laws.

stuka, if you want a new kar98k, check the hong kong sites, hey have them in stock. tokyo-model, UNco and den should have them.
