Just had to spend 10 minutes of my time sorting through that PUTTING BACK all the entries (and I mean all) that were defaced by someone with the mental agility of a hippo ("hungy hungry hippos", indeed).

The source IP has been banned from the site. If it happens again, the authorities will be involved.

I have my suspicions as to who it was. We'll see, won't we.

The more the better, mate. If you can get all of that in there, then great ;)

If you want to submit something close to a review, please put a brief description (plus history, if you want) before the review so people know what it is :)

I'm in the process of trying to set up an anti-vandal bot, too. Every Wiki should have one, and this seems to be pretty reliable. Hopefully it won't happen again...

It would also be nice, when you update the pages, to add credit where credit is due, in particular the references to PLCE. Check out my original article on the topic: http://www.practicalairsoft.co.uk/plce-assembly.asp

Then check YOUR gearpedia - http://www.teamsnafu.org/wiki/index.php/PLCE - note the pinched parts :(

Other than that, nice articles.

Hmm... the version's, sorry I added those. Someone sent that info to me a while ago on msn. Sorry I assumed they had written it.

I can change the wording if you want?

I should probably add a disclaimer trying to exempt myself from this sort of thing :P

Like I've said, this is open to public editing (which can be a problem when some of the public are morons :P). Sadly, that means people will sometimes copy and paste stuff by other people. I've had a warning up NOT to do so since day 1, but naturally some people will always ignore this.

Not much I can do about it, I'm afraid.

Follw-up -

Good point, LJ, and it DOES show this on my copyright page, http://www.practicalairsoft.co.uk/copyright.asp , as described in numbered paras 1-4, and the follow-up para regarding permissions below that.

PariahWolf - I accept that you acted in good faith on this occasion however, you need to be assured of source ownership veracity before you republish data passed to you; the only fully sound method in this regard is to perform your own research prior to re-publication, gaining permission beforehand, if required.

I would point out that had the information come from somewhere like, for instance, Janes Defence, you'd be looking at a C&D followed by a possible copyright violation lawsuit - this HAS happened before to other, less lucky, individuals.

By comparison, I'm relatively laid back, never the less, if I don't protect my own work, I stand to loose any/all rights to it under the Berne Convention, so, if you'd like to move swiftly to correct the credit omission, I'd appreciate it :)

Thanks in advance :)

I'll see if i can go edit it.

Edit: Done.

Redcap - about these 3 variations of PLCE. Have you seen any of the second variation yet please? I've seen the OG pistol holster, but i'm yet to see OG double ammo pouches that don't come in pairs. It's just a mystery to me.

Thans LJ :)

Re Version 2 PLCE: Yeah, I was issued them in the latter stages of my TA Service, oddly enough - that was in December 1996, and I believe we were amongst the first TA Units to get it, which was nice :)

However, I've not seen many of them on the open market - it's possible that they were a limited run, but I don't know for certain, not having seen many since then.

Regards the single ammo pouches - I'm fairly certain that they were originally intended to be issued to rear-echelon troops (the hated and frankly appalling "Scaling" system at work again), but cost cutting measures meant that again, not many were made. I think that single ammo pouches are also available from third-party vendors (although I must admit that I only saw those once, a couple of years back, and can't remember where).

Hope this helps :)
