Sanitarium
So, after reading all of these posts on how to build the assault and battle rifles from Halo, I figured I'd try my hand at something easy. How would I go about building a M6D Magnum from Halo?I'd like to use a spring pistol because I'm low on cash. Sanitarium
Well, that was nice and quick, and the thought of using the P7 didn't even cross my mind(must've been from playing CounterStrike on Xbox for the past 8 hours). One question though, is that GIGANTIC grip safety functional? And if it is, any way I could do away with it?
Longhairedhippy
it isn't a safety. on the real one, squeezing the grip actually cocks the gun for the first shot. dunno how that works on the springer.
Sanitarium
I know it's not a safety, I believe it actually engages the firing pin, or something, I'll have to consult my library.

Leez0
why did someone do that to their pistol!?
Longhairedhippy
i believe the original goal was to make a USP in the style of the detonics 1911s. if i remember correctly, a short magazine is in the works.
BigAl
it isn't a safety. on the real one, squeezing the grip actually cocks the gun for the first shot. dunno how that works on the springer. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> From what I can remember the Squeeze Cocker required a heavey initial pressure on the lever to cock the striker then a greatly reduced pressure to keep it cocked. Once the grip is released the pistol it uncocked and cannot fire again until it is drawn back again. From the one time I tried one, it was kind of weird but i'm sure you'd soon get used to it.
