Advice on Taking Good Pictures

Recommended Posts

I searched, and I didn't find anything. I think its important that when we do have photos, to have good quality, clear, and nice looking pictures.... So, I would like to make a thread of people's tips on getting good, clear pictures. Including backgrounds, angles, size, photo editing, style, etc....

So, Anyone?

this is of course including examples of good and bad, and showing differences. I think it will be a helpful thread.

it seems to focus too much on the lighting and stuff that isnt very readily available to people. I'm hoping a lot of the stuff also applies to people with cheaper cameras.

Well, all you need basically is a camera with a macro mode, and a mini tripod. Those are the only 2 tools I use in airsoft photography, and the lighting I have around me. The reason why most photos are shaky looking, or blurry is simply because people take hand held photos. Simply put, if you want to make decent photos use a mini tripod that you can easily and quickly position around your gun.

Here's a tip for all of you budding photographers:

Don't take photos without your shoes on!

I'm sorry, its just a pet peeve of mine  :P

I don't understand.

Or your shoes off...

He simply means alot of people that take pictures from the top view --> ground usually catch a snip of their toes in some pictures, which detracts alot of "photo-respect," shall I say.

Edit: Just saw an example:

No offense to the photo taker, of course.

could we put maybe tips in bold, and side chat in regular font? just a thought.

I would say, focus your camera, get a good lighting, interesting angles, and no other objects in the pictures.
