michael_collins
http://www.azexarms.com/big50who.jpg Saw this online, it seems to be a line of G3s with ak style mags. How would one do that?
Antagon
Those are HK33s...they actually fire 5.56 rounds, so the magazine is closer to M16 mag specs.
PlasticMag
While those are 5.56mm varients, there are indeed G3-family rifles chambered for 7.62Soviet.
michael_collins
Thats funny they seem identical in size to the G3s, the HK33 is smaller. Im certain those are G3s with ak mags.
Antagon
http://hkpro.com/HK33.htm No, theyre HK 33s, look at the pic you posted and compare the G3 on top, and HK33 right below it. Plasticmag, the gun you're talking about is the HK32...uncommon at best.
Vindicare
The mags look quite similar to the old mags for the STG44. Makes sense I guess as germany invented that too.
Ilovenapalm
Looks like a HK33 with 40 round mags to me but I'm not an expert. http://world.guns.ru/assault/as13-e.htm
Coop
i really like those wood stocks
Catchv22
Those are the longer HK33 magazines.
michael_collins
Okie dokie then. Love the blonde coloured G3 on the left though. Wonder how hard itd be to get a custom made set for a CA33E? Then stain them a cherry or a olive colour so that you can still see the grain?
Catchv22
First question is, can you even get real steel wood forearms for the G3 in the UK?
1000_mile_stick
Here's a link for the oh-so sexy HK32 (7.62x39) that Antagon mentioned -->http://www.hkpro.com/hk32.htm I thought about an airsoft version too, surely it would be an easy enough conversion? enzo100
Isn't TM planning a gun similar to the HK? I believe I read something about that. The AK mags on HK style guns did indeed start back in WWII with the German MP44. The MP44 was the first true assault rifle as well and the AK was based on it a great deal. michael_collins
It does match up doesnt it? Or am i looking at a 33 in my pic, and a 32 in yours.
Samm
Lol enzo The AK mags on HK style guns did indeed start back in WWII with the German MP44. The MP44 was the first true assault rifle as well and the AK was based on it a great deal. The MP44 had nothing to do with HK, and the G3 was invented by CETME and HK bought it off them. Catchv22
But the CETME inventors were from Germany after the war, and many aesthetic features from the STG44 were carried to the G3. Look at the buttstock and pin system.
Phoenix
the guns with the wood are G3's with wood stock and foregrip. The others are HK33's with 40 round mags. Jeez people. Oh and the top one is a regular G3A3
