JCYC5
The fact that green works far better than brown is why all the furry creatures running around are green.

Jagdraben
I think that the green bear is much better camouflaged than the brown one.

Jagdraben
While we're on the subject of using animals as inspiration for camouflage, should we run around in orange with black stripes? White with black stripes? Black with white stripes? Grey? Grey with dark brown splotches? I don't see anyone suggesting that we do that....
special_combat_force
Closest to that would be a tiger stripe, but don't know HOW effective they are Here's the pic of the brown bear in leaves... I know, not very good lol

bad aim
What? Diya think it's a good idea? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> It won't catch on... Grey and black in a desert setting? Coyote Brown can be used in 90% of the terrain in CONUS (can't speak about the rest of the world) and is versatile. Grey and black is quite limited.
Jagdraben
Thank you for making my point. Mostly. The point being this: Just because an animal uses it, a camouflage pattern that is the end result of millions of years of evolution, doesn't mean that it works better than any number of camouflages evolved in the mind of some poor sod somewhere over the period of a month. boosterboy
For some reason, that replica "brown" Ciras looks awefully "tan", probably due to photography. just get the brown version and roll around in dirt , it will look brown (or at least MJK) Once you reach brown, it should match well with woodland or desert cammies. Titleist
Wait, are you a bear?! Does the CIRAS make you a bear? OMG my mind has just been blown.

Survival of the fittest. The reason why I chose Coyote is because of the versatility. It can blend in pretty well in different kinds of terrain.
JCYC5
That's the point I was trying to make. In theory, CB should work better than OD. If not, furry creatures would be OD by now.
Skarclaw
Alot of animals don't see colour though, so you have to factor that in aswell. Cheers.
