Tokyo Marui AEP's

As of right now there are 3 TM AEP's currently in the market. The Glock 18c, the M93R, ad the MP7. there are also many custom accessories for these such as the TM Pro Light which increases the battery from a 200mAh(only around 400rd) to a 1200mAh(about 2400rds or so), the G18C and the m93R both have 100rd extended magazines while the MP7 has a 190rd high-cap magazine, and there are many more rails and other things to talk about, but that is not the purpose of this thread.

There are 2 ways to get an smg, get a gun that finds a way to hold an 8.4v battery that is really hard to change, such as the TM MP5K's and the Uzi, or get a 7.2v aep.

Tokyo Marui is not done with aep's, not even close. Thanks to the information found at Red Wolf we know that TM is interested in making:

A M9 and USPc

I feel that AEP's are going to excel in the airsoft world, but that is only my opinion, what's yours?

for pistols i dotn see much point in them. for SMG's, they are a much better idea.

however even then, they need serious work before i think they're any good for hardcore skirmishing. i was un-impressed by the fps of the MP7, and they arent easily upgradeable at the moment. the FPS stopped me getting an MP7.

Marui once started a revolution by inventing the AEG. It had many advantages compared to classic gas guns. Now they're trying to apply the same principle on pistols and SMGs. As good as it seems to work - the main point is, is successful in Asia ? No matter how good we think they are, Asia is the main market for Marui.

If they accept AEPs, this will be the future.

I prefer GBBs, for the realism and power. Am I outdated ?!?

i'm looking forward to the m9 aep, not because its an electric m9 but because it should be easy to mod into a clerics pistol

i wouldnt mind getting a tmp as well, the mp7 is impressive (fps isnt everything) but it just doesnt grab me. i'm thinking about getting a glock 18 as a more practical sidearm as the m93r is a *badgeress* to holster, not to mention its broken atm :(

that said i wouldnt give up my gbb's cos when they work the grin factor alone is worth it, but i want something that works at -5°c so i'll keep my aep too.

Personally I find AEP's to be more...cleaner if you will. they do not require you to carry around a power source, it is right in the gun.

The TMP and Skorpian will be some of TM's biggest hits when they come out. All of the guns isted above are rumored to come out this year, but who really knows?

Lacking in power you say, but there is the light...upgrades. AEP's can be upgraded just as AEg's. Most of the partsa are in Hong Kong, but you can get them and upgrade it to about 350fps, can you even upgrade gbb's?

i have a mp7 and its cracking, also have the glock18c but it only arrived from hk this week so not skirmished or had a decent go with it yet but hopefully will provide some amusement and more importantly lots of kills :P those soon to be releases look pretty fun and thats what its about at the end of the day... well mostly :P

MMM AEP Skorpian!

Kinda making me firm.

I agree, AEP is kinda the way to go.  None of the tempremtalness of gas, just slap in another battery, job done!

I am also thinking that AEP's are the way fo the future, but AEP's lack the realistic blowback and power of a gbb. I own a MP7 and i cant say i am dissapointed (fps is not the best though), and the MP7 has an optional 190rd mag. The main pro in my opinion for AEp's is you put the battery in and you are good to go (no worries). With gbb you still will have to carry around a gas supply, and gas+cold whether= not good bed fellows. The maintenance is also more with the gbb, and the clips will be about the same.

I too have an MP7 and I'm completely in love with it. When my G3 goes empty, I'll pull out a weird-looking gun and start shooting... Having fully automatic firepower with a 50-round low-cap or a 190-round hi-cap at your finger tips is a Godsend... I've fought a fellow in a sidearms-only game when our main guns were empty. He pulled out a GBB, and I pulled out my MP7. The distance was 30 feet and we opened up. A shower of BBs from my MP7 owned his single-shot P226.

I'll admit the MP7 has it many flaws, but with new SMG's will change all of that. TM should be listening and will deal with the MP7's problems. But the G18c is a masterpiece. I want one so bad(I plan on ordering it with the pro light when poweredgeusa gets them in). And if fps is your problem then upgrade youe MP7 to shoot harder.

If the popularity of the MP7 is any proof that they're here to stay, then yes, I'm pretty sure that the future looks bright for Tokyo Marui's AEP line.

TM... always the innovator.

BTW, that's just a regular USP, and a M92f. Unfortunately, they aren't exactly the same thing as a USPc and a M9, but close enough. :P:D

Whoops, my bad. What guns would you guys like to have for future AEP's? Personally I think the PP-2000 would be awesome, unrealistic, but so awesome. it holds 2 magazines, one in the mag well and one where the stock would go, it acts as a stock. genius.

LOL, thanks to Redwolf who copied everything I had to say about thier new releases, check the forums here under "Shizouka Hobby Show"

As for AEP, they are in huge demand in Japan, Tokyo Marui only caters to the Japanese market and the directors have no intrest in overseas demand, FACT.

The AEP and AESMP's were born due to the demand of hand guns that were usable durring the winter months here, CO2 and Propane are illegal here so gas guns must use HFC134a, which is incapable of producing enough presure in the winter months, So Tokyo Marui released the 18c and 93r to fill the demand for sidearms durring winter.

As and when we will see other AESMP's and AEP's is another matter, Tokyo Marui are not sure where they will go next with new releases and are currently in talks about what should be thier next release, It could be a long long time before we see the Scorpion or the MAC10, et alone the USP .45

I own the G18c and despite its poor fps it does get pretty decent range. I hope to upgrade it to about 300fps someday. My friends and I often play "pistol only" games and the glock stands up to GBB's just fine.

low fps.... still provides great range and amazing accuracy. Do not overlook the G18C as a revolution in AEG/P design..... I always said smaller AEG's are better... well this one is so small it's a pistol. Compared to my M14 it has less range etc.. but is still good for it's tiny package and not inferior... just a specialised piece.

FPS is not necessarily everything... consistant/accurate/flat shooting its :)

TM have a crystal ball and have seen the future... and it's compact...

Happy Hunting
