The front handle mount and joint is metal - this is a MAJOR problem in the TM - as the TM is plastic and breaks rather easily.

Ok, someone clearly duped you into buying a BE AUG and passing it for Tokyo Marui. I'm staring at the same part right now, the thin tube that connects the folding foregrip and the barrel. Its broken into 2 pieces and its clearly made of die-cast aluminum as I can see the sand-like texture. I broke mine because I dove into a pile of rocks looking for cover.

Defintiely true Renegadecow, this really sounds like he was talking about the BE AUG instead of the TM one. If DarkLite was comparing the BE AUG with the CA AUG, his stories are true. I was once talking to him about the TM AUG vs. CA AUG with its differences, however if Darklite suggests that the TM grip joint is plastic, this is not a Marui AUG he has handeld. Just to make sure Darklite, the fake AUG box is very identical to the Marui box, with the black and blue coloring with white letters, however the acronyms are very different on the box. Double check if you have handled the Marui or the BE AUG or take a picture for proof. I'm sure the BE AUG is very not worth it compared to the CA.

They have more metal, the plastic mix is MUCH stronger, the forward handle's joint is metal instead of plastic, the gearbox is re-inforced and comes with 7mm bushings and the plastic hop-up is not really that much of a problem.

Where does the CA have more metal than the TM? They're the same damn gun. I've had a TM for five years and have gone completely through several CA's now that my local store carries them. It does irk me how they cast the rear section of the outer barrel in green...would it really have been that much more work to cast them in black, or at least just paint them?

I'm splitting hairs though. From handling, I wasn't that impressed with the much-overblown CA super-realistic body. It certainly wouldn't be a selling point to me, as I've yet to find any weak points in the TM body over five years of abuse. The things don't break if you don't use them like a war club. Still, for an AI I would go with the CA, because they are readily available. It remains to be seen how the fit and finish are on the A2.

As stated, the foregrip pin is metal. I've yet to ever break one in five years though. The Guarder steel pins are still a recommended upgrade for the CA or TM guns because it greatly reduces wobble.

Let me also explain, both the TM and CA gun has identical metal parts. As for the body, I've handeld the real steel AUG too including the real P-90 as well, but the CA gun's don't really feel all too real in my opinion. The charging handle also doens't lock in well compared to the TM. The magazine catch also sounds different when a magazine is placed into the gun. Now because I work at an airsoft dealer locally, I have both guns, the TM and the CA to compare and constrast both. Not only the TM and CA, I have ToysnJoys with thier BE AUG to compare. So I've compared all three of them and all this time I thought you were mentioning of the Marui AUG Darklite. If you were handling the BE AUG all this time, I'll forgive you, however if stating numerous times that the grip join on the TM gun is plastic, then I can't really say much about you.

Well then, which one do you consider as overall superior? What would be your aug of choice? And why?

After using and examining all of the AUGs on the market, I have a firm decision with the TM AUG A2. Overall superiority is given to the TM AUG instead of the CA. In terms of packaging, the TM box is also appealing to the eye compared to other markets.

Now the reason why I prefer the Marui AUG more than the CA is because of the overall quality. Now people can argue that CA has quality. I have to disagree on this. CA does not have the quality of standard airsoft replicas. The mold lines on the CA is very poor, the motor is also not of high power, the gearbox has poor mold, the piston is also not as durable, the trigger locks, safety is clumsy, the grip wobble is still the same, the barrel has a two peice metal and OD rear barrel, plastic plates area also cheaply done, and the rubber parts are not the best.

There are many reason why I prefered, and why I tell my customers the Marui AUG has more potential over the CA AUG. The TM AUG gearbox is the best reason as to why I chose the gun. The gearbox itself is very sturdy, can take upgrades and high speed upgrades way over the forum limits. The magazine catch is more solid on the gun, the safety, trigger, and reciever is also very sturdy. As for the body, the TM AUG plastic body feels more like the real AUG at a local gun shop here compared to the fiber body of the CA.

In terms of upgrades, the TM AUG will be able to take more upgrades compared to other brands. Systema parts and Prometheus parts as well as other third party parts will fit in the gun and perform better compared to other brands. All critical components on the TM AUG can be replaced by third party products like GNP. Besides, most people who have opened thier own CA guns to replace parts in the gun, while the same can be done with TM guns.

Now because CA's AUG comes with a high cap magazine, pretuned geaerbox, fiber body, and diecast parts, that is not the selling point. The reason why people buy the current CA AUG A1 is because the TM AUG A1 is rare and the only option left is to buy the CA to fill the collection. The selling point of guns here is mostly upgradeability and performance as well as quality of the build. As for a player's gun, the TM AUG has the reliability, performance, and room for customs.
