UMGuy
I was justing thinking about the gas blowback and nonblowback shotguns by the various companies and was wondering how hard would it be to turn one or make a shotgun that was electric? I know it might sounds crazy, but I would buy one. Just your thoughts, opinions, and if you hate the idea. Also, if someone has done this(though I really doubt it) some pics and how you did it. thanks for taking the time to read this thread and hopefully posting.
pillow_pwnage
You'd have to either put a AEP mech in the rear of the receiver, or fit a odd gearbox in the stock. And whats the point of a shotgun without the sound of a racking pump, or shells flying? Conclusion - NO
UMGuy
It would be like a pumping shotgun that you would eject the shell when you pump, but it would run off of electricity, or (if they finally figure out how to fix the electric bloback)it can be blowback. This would give you either.
pillow_pwnage
- There is no room under the bolt track for a EBB mech - There is no room under the bolt track for a gearbox - Even if you could fit the mech, the moving bolt would allow no room for a spring/spring guide/piston etc. - Gas shotguns = god & win
UMGuy
It was jsut a thought. Thanks for the input, yeah, I already knew it was impossible, just wanted to see what people thought.
CapaciousZepher
You already knew it was impossible but you created a thread to discuss it anyway? Me thinks this thread am pointless. Oh, and shouldn't that be "never start a land war in Asia?" Assuming you are quoting that fellow in The Princess Bride. Cheers! - CapaciousZepher
UMGuy
I knew it was impossible, but I wanted to see what people thought about the idea. Not a waste, just seeing how people feel. Guess since almost no one replied it was a waste. No big deal.
alundiel
Something like a electric jackhammer?
renegadecow
Definitely possible, but plain stupid if you wanted to do it on a pumper. The only shotties where a large gearbox can be used would be a USAS, jackhammer, or the Saiga 12 or similar automatic shotguns.
Tinkerton
I dunno... the SPAS 12 is plenty big enough for a gearbox if you're a little... 'creative' i reckon without much work i could bung a V8 mechabox in there. yeah, three round burst baby! Think about it, the pistol grips *huge* and the actual receiver could feasably fit any number of gearboxes in (any thoughts about the G&G L85 one? hmm?). then you've got the shell tube for a stick battery, and find/make some 12g mags! WeAreLegion
I dont know if you would want to, but you sure as hell could fit at workings of a AEP glock or something in there
