Kousnik
Hello. On some occasions I have wanted to leave a message on a person's rep status, but havent felt that they deserve a plus or neg rep for what they have done. Basically, it is just a peice of information about what they have done, not a reward or reprimand.

PariahWolf
I'm guessing he wants others to be able to read it. Â Like if they messed around on a deal but got it sorted, doesn't deserve a plus and I wouldn't leave a minus either.
Kousnik
PW - exactly.

Kousnik
Well, that did cross my mind, but would just clog it up if people were giving 2 reps at a time.
PariahWolf
Well, that did cross my mind, but would just clog it up if people were giving 2 reps at a time. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Yeah I'd like to see this as well if possible.
Classicx
good idea
Lord Jebus
I endorse this.
phoenix360mute
if jebus endorses it, it must be bad
101matt1
I agree.
Anteater
so, if PersonA gives PersonB a +1 for whatever reason and you don't feel PersonA's reason justifies a +1 or you just feel PersonB doesn't deserve that particular +1 for whatever your reason, you would like the ability to make the +1 void or invailid/neutral? Â or is this a case of, you gave PersonB a +1 but changed your mind and want to remove that +1?
HaVoC
I endorse this. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Â Yep, I'd like to see this as well, or at least some way of making a public comment on someone's profile without attributing a 'good' or 'bad' tag to it.
Onechance
Why not get rid of the rep system in its current form and use this system Kousnik on about, that way people won't jump to conclusions by looking at their rep bar
rtrdpenguin
I like the idea of neutral reps but I don't know if the board software would support it... I've never seen a forum with neutral reps before.
Sledge
So this would be a system for saying "I do not feel this persons post is worthy of praise or criticism"? Â
Arghoslent93
Also known as, not giving them a rep at all?
Runner
Wouldn't a dedicated "Comments" bar be better?
Sledge
What, like, oh I don't know... posting in the relevant thread? Â
TheBauer
Maybe this is aimed more at the sales side, such as the way ebay does feedback. Â I still think the rep system should be used for sales only.
doc_newstead
Well, that did cross my mind, but would just clog it up if people were giving 2 reps at a time. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Â Whereas spamming them with neutral reps would be keeping it neat and tidy?
Sledge
I have no particular feelings about Doc's post. If I leave him a -1, could someone immediately leave him a +1 so it will have the effect of a neutral rep point? Â
Pablo
Can someone do the same for Sledge's post? Â I can see the value of a neutral if they were only for sales, but at present they're not. I have no idea at present whether that will change.
Kousnik
Whereas spamming them with neutral reps would be keeping it neat and tidy? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Â 1 rep instead of 2... yeah, it would. Â Â I guess the idea was aimed at sales but elseware in the forum after thinking about it, its role would be more of a watered down neg rep point.
Erestheux
Neutral... reputation points? Â Is that not an oxymoron? Â "I just want everyone to know that I feel indifferent about this post."
