ACOGS do look above the front sight post of the M16. The red triangle just clears the top of the front sight post. Aimpoints on their low mount do not line up with the front sight post. I do not know how EO-Tech's line up with the FSP, but I think it would clear it so you could co-witness the sights easily.

oh, the reason i hate them is not so much because of their reliability or looks, mostly because of what was stated earlier... colts "a good old american company" ;)

ive heard reports of FN weapons malfunctioning, and seen a few, but im sure that COLT weapons are the same. im just ###### that FN gets the A4 now because they beat colt by like $25 per rifle

bastards

Colt a "good american company"?

The last good thing that came out of the Colt factories was the SAA and the Browning 1911.

Since then it's been pure ######.

That is just being ignorant. To say the Colt M16 series is pure ###### is a ignorant statement.

While the M16 is not ######, there are for sure better assault rifles.

Take the HK416. Is M4 sized, but improved in almost every way. The US military should have chosen the H&K offering rather than relying

on the classic M4 to replace the M16.

But politics and arms lobbies usually prevails over giving the best equipment available to the soldiers (not only in the US).

I'm not saying that the AR-15 or the M16 is a bad rifle.

What I am saying is that Colt is a second rate company unable to produce quality firearms.

true, the m16 is not the best rifle currently being produced, but it is good enough. i mean, if the military adopted every rifle that was better than the previous, we'd never have any money. currently, the military is searching for a replacement... maybe the masada, we dont know yet. but the point is, nothing out right now really improves on the original design THAT MUCH. plus, we are still trying to find a new caliber! so, why get a new rifle, before the caliber? 5.56 just isnt good enough. we need something like the 6.8spc, or the 6.5grendel.

and none of this has anything to do with the company colt; yes they originally produced the m16, but all other companies produce m16s on par or similar with them, so if you say that colt produces ######, you are saying that bushmaster, FN, panther, alexander arms, noveske ind., and pretty much every other weapon company sucks... therefore, they are all equally bad.

Mmmm, gorgeous. Anyone know if madbull are planning to release the JP recievers? (always thought they were really sexy)

Oooh, on another note - What do people think of the current WGC customs? I heard a while ago they had tappet issues, was wondering of that was still the case?

No disrespect intended, but just out of curiosity, what experience has made you come up with this conclusion?

I currently own 3 pistols, a Kimber TLE/RL II, Sig P220ST, and Colt MkIV/Series 80 - all .45 pistols. The Kimber, completely unmodded, has had parts fail on me literally while shooting (after about 200 rounds). I've purchased the Colt 2nd hand in the late 80's and I've had very very few issues with it given how old it is and how many rounds its fired (I did have the trigger pull adjusted professionally and has given me some problems). My Sig is by far the most comfortable to shoot, most reliable, and probably the most accurate in my hands.

However, I personally would not say Colt is 2nd rate company given my Series 80 is almost 20 years old and is functioning nearly flawlessly. I wouldn't even say Kimber is 2nd rate even with my bad experiences with my TLE - their customer services is top notch (unlike a certain German manufacturer who can give 2 sh1ts about their customers).

Whatever...I suppose you are entitled to your opinion.

EDIT: btw I use Federal on all 3, all the time :)

The M16 has the best open sights of any weapon in the world. Just remember its been in service for almost 50 years....there is a reason for that.

I'm not saying its the best rifle in the world, but to say its no good is being ignorant, and most people who say its no good have never fired one. Do i think its time to move on to another weapons system for the US military? Maybe, the XM8 was a very nice prospect, but you can blame the Army for killing that project.

As far as getting a new caliber....the 5.56 has made a lot of people stop breathing over the past 50 years, the caliber is fine when you go with 77 grain 5.56 rounds, you just have to double tap them, yeah 7.62 is a much more powerful round, but we will not be going back to a caliber of that size for a service rifle. IF anything a 6.8...and that i do not see happening.

But enough of this bickering, lets just get to the pics.

Anyone have any SPRs? MK12s? or anything, lets see some.

Here is an interesting little fact, when you pair a M16 or M4 with an ACOG like the Marines did in Fallujah, they were scoring so many head shots they actually brought an investigative team in to make sure they weren't executing the terrorists. Just to find out all the head shots were from far away.
