socal_recon
Those black mags are actually plum coloured I'm assuming your replacing the fake wood with real wood? and most defiantly replacing that sling with a real one <{POST_SNAPBACK}> i have a real sling, actually two haha dumb clerk. anyways its not one of the ones with the clips on the ends its with the leather straps and im having alot of trouble getting the pin out to put it onto the sling mounts http://steelhawkairsoft.com/akslinggr.html and ya i may eventually replace the fake wood, but i've heard just about everyone has problems with the top piece of the foregrip being wobbly Edited August 19, 2007 by socal_recon
my_plague_666
i dont. its wobbly when the reciever cover is popped up, but when its down the pin holds it rock solid. my VFC seriously feels like a brick when the stock is folded, the only thng that lets it down when the stock is open is the little bit of rattle, but electrical tape will fix that. neoptolemus
As a reference, the slings sold as "AK slings" with leather connectors are in fact SKS slings, making them a waste of your money. You need a sling with a metal clasp on one end and a loop of canvas on the other; also there are specific slings for the AKS-74U, you can check them out on either Tantal's site or K-Var. Fin
As requested my AK74 with wood grips re fitted and with a plum magazine. Personally for wood AKs black looks better than plum for magazines (and bakelite wins easy) For some reason it feels more toyish than it did with my plum grips
my_plague_666
should be ordering some plum mids tonight. i'd go with bakelite but im too poor for RS mags and dont have the guts to experiment on mags in an attempt to make them look more real.

socal_recon
dont get the MAG mids, they dont fit properly in the mag well. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> they work fine for my vfc aks-74un. you have to push them a little harder foward but they go in and feed fine. it takes a few tries to figure out how to put it correctly since it looks like the mag well is a little different, lip in front is higher up in magwell, then most ak's

Forze
@the people who asked about fitting the romanian stock: you need to saw off the stock connectors, then saw & file off the inner hole of the body to fit the metal plate that connects the stock mount to the body. if you want: i can draw a picture of it greetz Forze

Hatman
What are all the bells and whistles on the rear sight for? Superb AK by the way! Inokatsu front set?
TheKurodaVagrant
That would be for windage adjustment. Gorgeous gun! I really dig the short PBS-1.
nicktheww2fanatic
what kind of sight is that?
lovecraft25
It's a PBS sight : It was used in conjonction with the PBS-1 silencer on the AKM / AKMS. Top side on the rear sight leaf assembly was designed for standard ammunition (calibrated up to 1000m) used without the silencer, and the other side was for subsonic ammunition to be used with the PBS-1. Elevation and windage are finely adjustable so no need to adjust the frontsight anymore. I love it, since it's pretty rare. I only saw another one on Ting's AKMS (Russian Mania Workshop). My PBS-1 shorty is the one sold by FSU Connection. Perfect for Inokatsu AK since it's 24x1,5 CW threaded. By the way, the whole gun is an Inokatsu AKM with AK104 barrel and gas port. I modified the receiver to accept a RS east german side folder (needed to modify it too). The magasine is a MAG 7.62 waffle type : they fit tight and perfectly Inokatsu AK receivers.
