Own Firearms?

In Finland shotguns or rifles with a total length of less than 840 mm or barrel length less than 400 mm is considered "other weapon", unless they can be classified as pistols or revolvers. For example, my AR-15 is an "other weapon", because the barrel length is 14.5", but even with a 16" barrel the total length is 800 mm. According to the current law, "other weapons" are no different than full length rifles and shotguns.

Suppressors are not registered or legislated at all.

By the way, please don't post lists of guns your daddy owns.

I read that: "Two weeks time to thoroughly grease and seal the guns and put them into a secure stash of your own."

Except the police had records of what you had, and if you could not account for it that was considered as possession.........so not good

NFA weapons are also sometimes called class 3 weapons, because a class 3 SOT (special occupational taxpayer) is needed to deal in NFA weapons.

Thus calling NFA weapons Class 3 weapons is not incorrect.

There is NO such thing as a class 3 license.

Correct. But there's no such thing as an NFA license either. All you have to do is go through some bureaucratic junk, and then pay a tax on each NFA/Class 3 weapon you buy.

To get a Class III firearm all you have to do is have a cooperation in your name and pay a nice little 200 usd tax to the government and wallah after the background check you can be planking targets in the comfort of your own home. :) (without the neighbors hearing you that is)

yearger... wiki is not a legitamate source  :waggle:  :P

www.onlythebestfirearms.com this is where we got our silenced P22

Hurrah for Florida's loose gun laws!

Doesn't the state have a say in Class 3's? I only ask because I have been told it's damn near impossible to get a Class 3 or permit to carry in California. I know the carry permit is a state law but don't states have a say in Class 3's?

Wikipedia is not 100%, I would suggest you talk to the BATF if you want that kind of information. I have never heard of a NFA Liscence, but I have heard of a Class 3.

The state shouldn't have a say at all, seeing as that is technically unconstitutional. But then again, people have been trampling all over that thing for the past several years. I don't live in the PRK, and I don't plan to EVER due to the political climate, so I can't really offer any advice on the issue other than it's probably going to be absolutely rediculous.

My dad just put himself on the waiting list for a military surplus M14, big fan of the 14s. He said that he might let me apply for a licence and get a gun. Im thinking of an SKS, in Hawaii you can only have semi auto or bolt action guns so it would fit the criteria, not to mention it never jams.

I highly doubt that the US Gov't will be surplusing M-14s. The Navy still uses them, some are being put over to DMRs, and not to mention that in order to surplus them for civilian sale they will have to modify the recievers to remove the select-fire capability. I highly doubt that the .gov would surplus NFA items.

I've never liked Mini-14s. The barrel and front site looks like something from a Daisy airgun.

The barrels are way too light. Once they heat up, the groups become ... "undesirable."

They're good for plinking and varmits, and they're a whole lot of fun... Although I will say that you're probably better off getting a SKS for a much better price-performance ratio.

Since I don't intend on using a rifle for combat, I just get the rifle that looks good.

I don't either. I'm just saying.

You can get a SKS for under $150. It has better a bit better accuracy, and higher reliability, and is about 400-500 dollars cheaper. Economically speaking, the SKS may be a better buy... But its all tastes. I mean, I do have one after all :P

Benelli M1 Super 90 for upland birds

Ruger .22LR bolt action rifle

And, hopefully by this time next month:

FN-Herstal FS2000

SiG Sauer P220, P226, or Springfield XD

If no FN-H FS2000 then I might have no choice but to buy a Kimber Desert Warrior.

Having handled and shot both the P226 and XD, I'll say you're going to be in for a tough decision ;)

The P226 just has an amazing fit, but the XD has a feel resembling a 1911... (your mileage may vary, of course)

Not to mention, 15 rounds of .45ACP :D

Add "preparing for jail time" to the two week period then.

Sekiryu: What kind of an AUG you are going to buy for 4000 USD? In Finland they sell for around 2k...

Yeah...

The cheapest AUG I've found is an A1 with an "upgraded A2 bolt and carrier" for $2,895.00.

The most expensive is an A2 at $7,749.00.

All from gunsamerica.com, which to my knowledge is the only place to get them.

There's a rare tan version going for only $3,450.00. But some tard decided to put an M4 flashhider on it <_<

Basically I need $4000 to be safe. Unless that nice $3000 is still there if/when I get the money.

And why haven't they been imported, you ask? Because those *fruitcage* bureaucrats don't like guns that aren't made in America.

Someone is garage-building "Stg556", an American version of the AUG, and selling for only 2k, but I don't trust it.

Oh yeah, I've heard of this import problem. Didn't even think of that, sorry. :P

So it's that hard to get 7 US made components for the AUG? I thought people get around this rule with AKs by changing the plastic furniture and firing mechanism to US made components to make it "American enough to import".
