BoB SoiL
The pattern came through nicely. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I'll say, even surprised myself how well the digital came out Oh, and will definitely work a lot better in woodland than ACU methinks
darkchild130
hey, that looks nice. Did you use less dye than me, as yours seem to have a stronger pattern and less generic greenness. I like yours better than mine. Darkchild
Cyber Soldier
Looks like he might have used ACU MK2. ACU* ACU MK2* *Pics from Flecktarn.co.uk
Maple-Leaf
I would hazard a speculative opinion that the Mk.2 version would produce a better result as it look a lot less "blue" than the Mk.1. To me, the Mk.1 dyed with green ("Jungle Green"?) produces a strong blue-green tint which looks a bit odd.
BoB SoiL
Nope, I used the regular ACU It may be worthwhile if I put it into context, I used XXL BDU Bottoms, an XL BDU Top, and XXL Boonie and Cap Oh, and the whole packet of Olive Drab (#34) Dylon I still need to try them out but I'm off to Grange Farm Airsoft on the 21st so I'll give them a go there
BoB SoiL
++EDIT++ *albartroth*, double post...
navymp28
What kind of ACU's are you guys useing for this? Actual issued sets or knock-off?
BoB SoiL
Knockoff ones, from Flecktarn.
Maple-Leaf
Here's a thought - what about a fall/winter version done with a shade of brown?
BoB SoiL
I'll admit I am tempted to try it, then again, it costs the best part of £50 for the full set (top, bottoms, boonie and cap), so, I may give it a go when I get my bonus in March
YukiRoh
Anyone thought of dyeing Cadpat Arid or Marpat Desert? The shades are more distinct so it may show the pattern better than Acu.
CobaltSky
But they don't need improving while ACU does, thats the whole point...
navymp28
Tried Tan Over Issued set of ACU's. (The Boonie Hat is Propper and not issue) Here are the results...They do seem more tan in person and the Boonie seemed to take the dye a little better than the Uniform. I will have some filed pics tomorrow.
Wege
looking at those.. I think you may be re-dying in green?
pjones
Both the tan and green dyed ACUs look a lot more effective than the original. They also remind me of some of the Soviet camouflage patterns: http://www.kamouflage.net/camouflage/00164/en_index.php
navymp28
looking at those.. I think you may be re-dying in green? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Nah, I might do another Tan session on them. But I like it. This was from a game today.
Wege
Hmm. you are going for 'cam effectiveness' then wearing Jeans???

Maple-Leaf
They look like solid OD green TRUs from this range....
rolling-thunder
Yeah! You can just about see the pattern,it still looks cool close up though.
Kyrian_Zenda
Aye, yeh, it's a lil' difficult to make out at range, and it's darker than I thought it might be. But still, lovin' it
Maple-Leaf
I think over-dying them with brown for a fall/winter look might be more effective.
Treadhead
am curious to see how they'll look after they've faded a little.. rather good I'd think...
tomster
I think you've used too much green, because they really look like OD's to me.
