Jagdraben
Ironic... the Imperial Guard is everywhere. US, UK, Australia, everywhere.
Oliver Twist
Well, yeah, 40k is played on every continent except antartica.
Cyber Soldier
What pond whould that be? I'm about 15 miles from the the Imperial in London so if you fancy putting together an Imperial Guard team I'd be up for doing a uniform.
Rec
I seriously thought of this kind of Imperial Guard for the first 15 posts of this thread... Â
CobaltSky
lol. That would still be an awesome look. Concealment wouldn't be a strong point though.
Cyber Soldier
I'm enthralled by the Cadian look but there are so many other regiments out there. I could really do a Tanith look but what to use for the cape...
Jagdraben
Make one? Buy one from a LARP site?
Cyber Soldier
This isn't any ordinary cloak my friend.
Rogue845
You could try a poncho in DPM. The British Army used to use them before they gave us Gore-tex jackets and Basha sheets. Â Probably hard to find now though. Â The rest of the Tanith uniform would be easy. If I remember rightly, they just wear black combats.
Jagdraben
This isn't any ordinary cloak my friend. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Â I know. But what choice do you have? Cyber Soldier
Unless you're a closet billionaire who has tons of money to spend to push government programs concerning adaptive camouflage technology from theory to factory.... <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Actually now that you mention it... Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â I was thinking maybe having a selection of them in different patterns of one in that oak leaf pattern you get for some ghillie suits. Prolific
Its going to sound stupid but... the torso body armour is basically identical to american football 'pads'. Â You'd probabyl need to get a small and modify the shoulders so they don't stick out so much. But that'd be the gist of it: Â Â They come in various shapes, sizes and fastenings. I guess you want an olive drab or black one. Probably in a large childs or small adults size and one of the more modern looking ones. You'd stand to look a bit of a Tit running around in it, but if you can do it right and spray the pads it probably won't look so bad. All I'd say is - until I read this I didn't know what Imperial Guard were. I honestly thought you might be going for a penninsular war/napoleonic era french elite grenediers uniform... so don't expect many people to know what your meant to be. Â edit: one thing I would say for the US football pads is; you can probably run around in them and smash into trees and such without them disintegrating. Cheapy plastic fake body armour probably wont take so much punishment.
DeathCarrot
Man a IG loadout would be sweet, but it just wouldn't be the same without a couple of Lemen Russ on the feild or a sea of green to shoot at.
Jagdraben
Or Traitor Guard....
Agent Hunk
Way back in the day I was looking into futuristic style kits and must agree that football armor is the best option. Â Gun wise I considered that a G37 could be easily modded to look like a bolter, an M16VN a las-gun, and a Patriort, a bolter pistol.
TOTMS
What pond whould that be? I'm about 15 miles from the the Imperial in London so if you fancy putting together an Imperial Guard team I'd be up for doing a uniform. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Â Sounds good. At the moment I have about 15 players on my society of which 5/6 are serious. If I can get that number upto 8 we can have 2 fire teams! Â Oh and that red cloak reminds me of the Etherials from XCOM - anyone remember how terrifyingly awesome they were
darkchild130
here's my imperial guard loadout: Â Â done (its an old picture, it has long since healed) Â Darkchild
Cyber Soldier
Right then, who's up for doing a proper IG team? Darkchild gets honourary membership for the tattoo and because I think BRADpat would make a great uniform for the unit. I'm itching to try out my Commissar uniform in the field. All I need to complete it is a pair of jackboots, some fringed eppaulettes and a skull cap badge.
Jagdraben
And what of load-bearing kit, headgear, footwear, &c.?
Cyber Soldier
Headgear would be a beret or some sort of side cap, for load bearing I'd use ALICE and footwear should be good old Standard British Assault Boots.
Jagdraben
Grey berets, perhaps? I wonder how well an Imperial Eagle pin would fit on a beret.... And what sort of beret? British/American/German/&c.? French? Russian?
Cyber Soldier
British berets and an eagle sits very well. Â Â Â This is my Aquila badge on my old RGJ Beret from cadets. Think it looks pretty nifty.
Jagdraben
Spiffy. Â Looks like I get to buy a new beret... AGAIN.
CobaltSky
If you wanted one of the helmets then a full cut classic protec, sprayed OD with an aquila moulded on the front would look ace
Rogue845
I've got a Tanith Ghost cap badge laying around here somewhere. I'll post a pic once I find it.
