She seems very down-to-earth and 'normal' rather than being overtly dynamic. If manga is permitted then Rin Akusagi from Blade Of The Immortal comes in first out of Japanese anime. (I actually have this (without the text) as a framed art print, 28"x36", overlooking my bed...). But Im afraid for favourite cartoon character, I have to look south to France.
