MadBull C02 conversion.

Recommended Posts

Ok first off, this thread isn't about the FPS this thing will pump out, so SHH no one mention it.

To me it doesn't look like it's gunna work... a C02 powered gear box.. EH?

By the looks of it, the C02 bulb would go where the motor would, how on earth will that fit in an AEG grip.

Also the recoil bar thing poking out the top, where would that go? The only AEG i can think of with room for that poking out the top is an AK.

They also say it's out April... April fools anyone?

I've just been told that this is infact real.

Do i feel stupid?

Yes.

Do i always feel stupid?

Yeah, I don't think it is a joke, I think it is a great idea.

My 1991 Shell-Ejecting Marui MP5 has a gas cannister (134a of course) that goes into the pistol grip, much like this design would. You'd need a replacement for the grip cap -- instead of screw-mount it would need to be a trap door design so you can change the co2 bulb easily.

The picture is obviously just a CAD rendering. Any info on the MadBull company? Will they really complete it?

And it should be adjustable for power -- there could be a 328 fps version.

Recoil?? Will it make the bolt cover blow back and forth on models where it would be possible (like the G3)?

Yea,

Romour has it that one bulb will last for around 100 shots... That quite alot, considering C02 pistols (real BB guns/pellet guns) only last for 60-70 shots.

...Nevermind! Changing c02 bottles when I change mags would be annoying.

Of course we are discussing the possible 328 fps/adjustable version. :D

So, a lower FPS would increase shots-per-bulb.... (?)

I'll get one, but only if it has a cool recoil-blowback effect...

Yea if they chucked the idea of 12g Bulbs and made them ready for external C02 rigs they'd be awesome!

They should do that!

They could then be adjusted and fire at 328 FPS.

Thought just hit me... I bet this thing is going to sound great! No more motor noise! :D

edit: It should be possible for this gas gearbox to use the c02 bulbs, and also accept an external connection.

If they make a Version 6 gearbox styled one that would be nice since it could take up some of the unused space in the butt.

Although I might have to come through on my promise of giving up my left nut.

Will the CO2 gearbox fit any AEG from the Marui and CA gun line up? And wouldn't the gun need steel geers to handle the FPS the Gearbox delivers?

If there are still gears in it, it will win the award for "worst design ever."

Hmmm I don't know much about how the thing will work so I have no idea how different it will be from the normal gearbox.

Either way I'm buying one of those gearbox great power and blowback.

If they're smart they'll ship it with an adapter so that you can run it from an external CO2 tank with a better regulator, that way you can make it operate below UK fps limits.

If they're even smarter they'll make the internal regulator adjustable aswell, so that you have the choice of running it at sane FPS levels with the internal 12g CO2 capsule too.

This will obviously also lead to more shots per capsule.

If done right this might be the most important airsoft invention in a long time.

Loud muzzle report, strong kick, no trigger delay, no more noise from spinning gears and electric motors, possibility of using LRB's instead of regular tightbore barrels for more range (if the CO2 pushes the BB itself and not just a piston, so that the gas can expand continuously that is).

If needed you should also be able to submerge it under water (SEAL scenarios?) like you can with an ESCORT based GBB like the YE MP5 or SP M16, aslong as you dry it and lube it after playing.

All of this with the wide range of available AEG models out there.

They really need to post more info about this thing.

Realistically a 12gram is going to get a realcap's worth of good solid "pops", so I think its going to have to be externally powered to gain widespread acceptance. (the hi-cap AK kiddies will be whining when their c02 powered mechbox stops after 50 shots)

I'm extremely excited about this. This could eradicate my problems with putting gas internals into an AKSU - if it does, I'm super happy.
