SCENARIO DETAILS:
Operation: Midas Touch
Welcome to Argentina and to one of the largest gold mines in the world. The Alumbrera mine which is located in the far west of Argentina and closely borders Chile is owned by a Swedish based company called XStrata. XStrata has hired Backwater to provide their facilities and transports with security. Backwater is a Private Military Contractor (PMC for short) who employs highly trained and motivated operators mostly made up of ex-special forces. Up until a couple days ago, everything had been transported by air, but one of the transport planes carrying the gold to the shipping port in Chile dropped off the grid and has not yet been found. Since then, all transports have gone over land and seemed routine, until today…..

It was cold this winter morning along a dirt road outside of a remote village near the coast of Chile. As a small group of Backwater operators ride along in their transport truck, it was no different from any other day except for the cargo it carried. Besides the few Backwater contractors on board to guard the cargo, was the cargo itself, 32 million dollars worth of freshly cast gold bars from the Alumbrera mine.

The trip had been smooth and worry free, but when they entered the remote flatlands the driver noticed something odd. The road was completely vacant, not even the livestock that roamed these old dirt roads were anywhere to be seen. A cold chill came over the driver, as he turned back toward the Backwater troops and said “I got a bad feeling about this!” No sooner than he utters those words, there was a big explosion which forced the transport off of the road. When the Backwater troops exited the back of the transport and examined the scene. It seems that they had run over an IED which destroyed the engine of the transport beyond repair, the driver was dead, and worst of all….. The armored doors had been damaged and would not stay closed. After radioing for help, HQ said backup would be there soon but another transport would take a few hours to get there. “Defend the gold at all costs! It’s what we are paid for!” barked HQ over the radio. “Yes, Sir!” responded the squad leader. “So we sit and wait until help arrives?” asked one of the squad. “Yeah, we wait.” said the squad leader. Then one of the other men yelled, “Guys! I got movement over here! Lock and Load!”

Teams:
(Backwater – PMC) – Desert, Multicam, Black and Civilian Clothing
(Militia/Rebels) – Green Patterns

The Objective: (In addition to the main objective, each team will have several missions throughout the day)

Backwater – Protect the gold and retrieve any gold that is stolen.

Rebels – Steal as much gold as possible and keep it safe in your drop off location.

Each brick of Gold in the truck at the end of the day scenario is worth 15 points per brick.

Comm Code + Box – Bonus 100 Points
Rebels:
Each brick of Gold is worth 30 points that is in the bank at the end of the day scenario
Transport Box – 100 Points
Transport Box Key – 100 Points
Transport Box + Key – Bonus 100 Points

Game Rules:
FPS / Minimum Engagement
Airsoft guns must measure BELOW the following velocity limits:
* 1.48 Joules for fully automatic guns (AEGs, etc…)
This equates to the following specs:
400 fps with 0.20g bb´s
* 3.0 Joules for non-full-auto guns (snipers, etc…)
This equates to the following specs:
570 fps with 0.20g bb´s

– If your gun shoots under 340fps with a 0.20g bb then you have no minimum engagement limit and can fire full-auto.
– If your gun shoots over 340fps but under 400fps with a 0.20g bb then you have a 20ft minimum engagement limit and can fire full-auto.
– If your gun shoots over 400fps but under 450fps with a 0.20g bb then you have a 50ft minimum engagement limit and can only fire semi-auto.
– If your gun shoots over 450fps but under 500fps with a 0.20g bb then you have a 75ft minimum engagement limit and can only fire semi-auto.
– If your gun shoots over 500fps but under 570fps with a 0.20g bb then you have a 100ft minimum engagement limit and can only fire semi-auto.

Eliminations:
A player struck anywhere on their person, including any equipment they are carrying on them such as: web gear, canteens, ammo pouches, hat, etc. is considered a hit and eliminated from the current game.

Gun hits and BBs that ricochet off nearby objects do not count as eliminations. If a BB hits a small twig in front of you and is deflected only a few millimeters and still hits you it is not considered a ricochet and you are eliminated. Please use good judgment.

Call “OUT or HIT” when hit, you are eliminated, wave your hand or gun to let your opponent(s) know that you have been eliminated. Once eliminated place your “dead rag” on top of your head and call for a “medic” (if medics are used) or make your way back to the staging area or designated re-spawn zone.
Do not talk to teammates or opponents on your way off the field (dead men don´t talk). It is a good idea to keep a hand up to signal that you are eliminated and call “OUT or HIT” before you walk around a blind spot that an ambush could be coming from.

Anytime you feel you have “the element of surprise” on an unsuspecting player at close range and you believe it in their best interest and safety to give up, you can ask them to “Surrender” instead of just shooting them point blank. If your opponent accepts this surrender, that player is eliminated and counts as a kill. However, if this player decides not to give up then you are clear to engage them.

If you believe you have hit another player and they have not called themselves out, you may call that player and yourself out. You and the other player are eliminated. This helps to keep players honorable.

Medic Rules:
Everyone is a Medic.

Each player gets two heals, on their 3rd elimination they must return to their respawn to re-enter the game and can only do so in groups of 3.
To be healed a live player must place both hands on the dead player and count to 30.

Dead players cannot talk or move, aside from calling for help.
If a player is not healed within 10 minutes they must return to their respawn.
Respawn points will be located on the game field.

EYE PROTECTION:
Shooting Glasses are the minimum eye protection required.
Eye Protection must be ANSI Z87.1 or better rated and be able to withstand a direct hit (1″) from a .20g BB at 400fps.

Eye protection determined to be unsafe will not be allowed to be used.
Keep your eye protection on regardless of the game being over until all players are accounted for and all guns are made safe.

Full face protection is highly recommended this includes wiremesh face masks and paintball masks.

GUN SAFTEY:
Keep your gun pointed in a safe direction while in the staging area. For more information and registration, go to this link.
