Forums: we now have $15 of the needed $31. When we get the whole total, our forums will be popup/advert free for 6 months. Thanks to our current contributors "Stg44" (Lyn) and "sumirp". If you feel it's worthwhile then please make a donation to the Community Chest. For latest contribution information please read this thread on the forums.

New articles: I've uploaded two new articles that I've been sent via email, you can find them added to the appropriate 'articles' page...

The first article is entitled "So you want an Airsoft M14?" by LT Mac, the second was kindly translated by Jeremy Kao and is about fitting and installing a custom battery into your TM P90.

I would add a reference as to who wrote the original P90 battery article but, at this time, I do not know the original author's name.

New M93r Link: I've added to the M93r review a link to a page written by Stefano Mattioli. The page contains a well written article about the real-steal Beretta M93r.

Mobius-Strips's latest pet project: Matt (Mobius) has sent me some images of his latest project, a custom SVF/Prokiller Hybrid. I'll let him explain what he's done himself:

"...Well here it is, basically, I put the long inner barrel from my Prokiller 2000 6" into the Prokiller Mark 2 F3.9 Full auto pistol, thus giving me higher velocities of the PK 2000 on full auto.

There was an about an inch of inner barrel poking from the silencer when I originally fitted it to the F3.9, because the PK Mk 2 F3.9 is essentially a 5" gun and the PK 2000 is a 6" gun. I needed to make an longer "outer" silencer shroud which would slip over the PK's silencer to cover this extra inch. I constructed one cut from the magazine tube of a Marui Benelli Shotgun. It was just a tad too tight to fit over the Prokiller 2000's silencer, so I slotted the bottom, prised it open to a fraction to a bigger diameter, then filled the gap using cyanoacrylate adhesive. Thus now it was a perfect fit (with a strip of masking tape to protect the "inner silencer" as it slid on". Of course a suitably sized hole was drilled in the muzzle end. The silencer was then sprayed with cellulose satin black..."

Here's the images (2 are already linked above):

I must mention that the images of the custom SVF are by Sam, who kindly took them specifically for this website, and for you the reader. (Thanks Sam)

New Forums: We have a chance to change our current forums, I'd appreciate peoples' thoughts on this new layout that Montauk has been kind enough to setup. Submit your comments to me either via email, or (preferably on the current forums on this specific thread). The new setup isn't a final version, merely a demonstration.

Remember folks, the forums are for you, so the choice of what we change to is down to you, so I need your feedback.

Strange piece of kit - Answers: I had a whole load of emails regarding the mystery bit of kit at Club Michelle found on this page here. The correct answer (I gather) is that it's "a reflector gunsight of a Mitsubishi Zero (WW2 Jap fighter plane)" (Thanks to Richard Williams for that one)

SVF 3.9 images: Matt (Mobius) is our resident Western Arms guru (he has far too many WA GBB pistols =).

His latest aquisition was an WA SVF 3.9, and I thought I'd put these lovely images online of the SVF that he sent to me.

"Barnes Kit": Those nice folks over at Airsoft Dynamics have just informed me of a new kit from Head 1950 that they've got in stock. The Head 1950 kit includes;
  • XM177 TN Barrel
  • M16 bird cage type flash hider
  • Extended outer barrel with 14mm threading
  • Metal front sight post
  • Replacement Sporter sized front hand gaurd
  • Metal hand guard cap
  • Replacement fuse wiring

Turn your XM177 into something a little more interesting with this kit from Head1950
"...Dubbed the Barnes kit after the character in the film Platoon, the Barnes kit will turn you standard XM177 into an M653...this kit requires some HEAVY modification ... you will have modify a standard 8.4v mini battery to fit the handgrip."

For more information check the Airsoft Dynamics website news page.

Forum donation appeal: Do you use our forums? If you do, and you feel it's worthwhile then please make a donation to the Community Chest.

When we get 31USD or more in total submitted, everyone gets all the adverts/popups removed for a month, which is (in my opinion) well worth it.

We run the website on a very small budget (about £20 a year), and any contributions would be greatfully accepted. It'd be great if we can get all the adverts and popups removed - so please help if you can folks!

New CA MP5 review: Pikachoad has just informed me of the new review over at Airsoft Players. WGC sent him an custom CA MP5A2 for review. (Image to the left is from Airsoft Players)

"...When WGC approached me about reviewing a Classic Army MP5, while excited, I wasn't REALLY excited until I realized they wanted me to check out one of their WGC special editions, and that it was the A2 model..."

Club Michelle updates: Several interesting bits of kit have appeared over at Club Michelle, so have been mentioned before, and some are rather obscure. If you aren't fluent in Japanese, and can't remember the Yen/UKP ratio, then you'll need to use Altavista's language translator, and UCC CurrencyConverter.

WA SVF 3.9 again: Of obvious interest is the WA SVF3.9 Prokiller, I won't bore you with translations and info (you should already know that this is a top notch piece of kit), so just have a look at their page, and the images and info there. (The image to the left is from ClubMichelle)

"...when realizing full automatic it does not have stress, it probably means that certainly happiness gives temporarily in you..."

Club Michelle list price is 22,800 Yen, 52 round mags are 5,500 Yen.

Previously mentioned here (if you read this news page a bit), is the KSC STI Titan 5.1. It looks like KSC are finally getting better at "ahem" copying Western Arms' designs. Honestly though, this looks to be one of KSC best 1911 based replicas.

This version is the Racemega version. Answers on a postcard, as to what KSC mean by that one. Retail price is 19,000 Yen.

Power is quoted as 73.3m/s (most probably with HFC134a), capacity is 26 rounds. Mobius (Matt) was kind enough to send me a scan of the relevant ARMS Magazine page - You can find a larger version by clicking the image to the left.

Size matters!: Yes ladies and gents, my personal favourite, the S&W M29 Classic MAXI 8 3/8 (by, I assume, Marushin). It's big, brutal and kind simple (a bit like me, really). With only six shots you have to make them count, but with an 8 and 3/4 inch inner barrel, this one's going to be punching rounds out really hard (it does have hopup).

Please note the speedloader to the bottom left of the picture. The pistol is 14,000 Yen, and the speedloader is 1,900 Yen. Cartridges are 3,000 Yen for a set of 6.

"I .. have... the .. POWER..!"
Get some respect, and some hits at the same time in a CQB scenario with this formidable sidearm.

"I keep this for close encounters": "So what are we meant to use - harsh language?" Well no actually.. use this, the TM M3 Shorty.

My personal favourite in the shotty replica market at the moment. Using the standard Tokyo Marui spring shotgun internals, TM have reduced the M3's size and produced the refined "Shorty". Tweaks include a rubberised grip and pump handle. Retail price for the M3 Shorty is 18,000 Yen.

So what is it? For those of you that read every last bit of news here. Anyone got a clue as to what this is? It's expensive, so it must be original, and from the looks of it, I'd say it was a WW2 collectable of some sort (possibly a weapon sight?). Again answers on a postcard. (For those of you that take things literally don't send me a postcard.. send me an email =)

APS2 Custom Parts : Airsoft Dynamics have just informed me that they have some new accessories for the APS2 on their way, the new parts from First Factory include a new cocking handle (and one for left handed owners), and a new trigger guard to house the 'ZERO trigger' assembly.

"...The cocking levers tough, one peice design will eliminate one of the main problems with upgraded APS2's at around half the price of existing models on the market....The trigger guard also acts as a safety for the APS, with a simple slide mechanism you are able to lock the trigger into position making it impossible to fire the gun..."

Click here to read the short review for the M1100 Defender M1100 'Defender' Short Review: Nautilus has kindly sent me a short review direct from Japan of the Maruzen M1100 shorty, nicknamed the 'Defender'. The Defender is a shortened M1100, which has been converted to fire from a magazine (this magazine design isn't new), rather than from pre-loaded shells. Reliability and range is greatly improved, and the shortened length makes it a respectable backup. Go on, and have a read in the reviews section.

Bollé T-800 Goggles review: Airsoft Canada has put up a nice review of the Bollé T-800 Tactical Goggles. These are some of the most comfortable goggles that you can get (if a little pricy). I've personally had a bad experiance with these goggles, but don't let that deter you, as there are always bad stories about every type of equipment.

The review is well researched, well written, and a credit to the airsoft community, it's worth reading even if your not after some new goggles.

Project Plans: Phil of USMC Blackwatch has kindly given us permission to host copies of his plans for the MORITA and PulseRifle project (Thanks Phil). You can find the plans for the MORITA here, and the plans for the PulseRifle here. These plans are for laser-tag replicas, but they are great for showing you how to easily make replicas from sheet steel, and for getting the dimensions correct.

More Reviews: I've two reviews in the works; a Luger review and a Glock18c review (which have been kindly submitted to me by Lyn and Andi, respectively), so expect to see them online shortly.

Updates: Righty ho! Here we go, more news and info than you can shake a rather large stick at (and on time too, will wonders never cease?). I've got some more content to add - If you've emailed me with news/reviews, and it's not here, just give me a small reminder via email to get it online. I reply to all emails, and get everything I can online, but with a 200 email backlog, some things are likely to be forgotten (I have 2 reviews that have been submitted to me in the pipeline).

Click here to visit the page that details how to make a custom P90 battery

Another custom P90 battery: If you are still looking for ways to get some huge batteries in your P90, for those new hi-caps that are shortly going to be released by TM, then I'd recommend having a look at this link. You'll find some nice clear images and instructions, it's in Chinese, but a nice chap has emailed me offering to translate it for everyone here (Many thanks go out to him). I'll get the translation online as soon as I receive it. In the meantime, try this link from BabelFish (Yup it's a very poor translation, but it's readable).

The image to the left is from the link given, I'd give credit, but I can't find who published it, or any names or email addresses to contact on the page.

SR-16 Review: Stan of PlanetAirsoft, has kindly informed me of a new review they've got online of the TM SR-16. The review is well written with high quality images, and detailed information. You can find the full review here:

"...This is one of Tokyo Marui's latest masterpiece, the KAC SR-16. I am extremely impressed with the finish and performance of the gun not to mention the A2 stock and RIS that comes standard with it. The SR-16 is a replica of the KAC SR-15 but to avoid getting into legal issues, TM has decided to call their's the SR-16..."

"They're all over the place" - Airsoft Pulse Rifle: Spotted over at AirsoftRetreat, Airsoft Extreme are now selling an Airsoft PulseRifle replica for a mere 2000USD (cough splutter..).

This is a small pet project for myself and a few site members, so if you are at all interested, have a look at our project page for the M41a - you'll find a host of links and details there.

Western Arms SV F5 Images: Matthew (Mobius) has been kind enough to send me a new scan from ARMS magazine of the 5 inch slide version of the new full-auto gas-blowback from WesternArms. (Matt is a great bloke with an extensive collection of mags, loads of WA GBB knowledge, and the infrequent use of a scanner =)

Click the image to the left to get a larger view. You'll find all the usual technical info, including the expected price of 22,000 Yen (£124 / $176)

0.2 link: I have a link in the links section to a team by the name of '0.2' in my links section Fugu, was kind enough to contact me, and I've updated their details. Previously I had little knowledge about them (other than the website link), as they have no text on their website.

Holiday: Well I'm officailly back from holiday, and I've had a very relaxing break, a big thankyou to everyone that asked. I'm got loads of new info, articles and reviews to get online, but I'm a bit snowed under with work and emails. It'll take me until about tomorrow night to get back into things.

I'm currently working my way through the 183 emails that I received while I was away, and writing replies to all of them, so as you can imagine I'm a little tired at this moment.
