have setup a new system where you can donate money. As of the 11th of September
they had collected
over 4.6 Million USD. I
was also kindly reminded recently that some local charities are now suffering
from lack of support. Please continue to support your local and national
charities too at this time. Thank you. Website quiz/competition: Our 1st Anniversary Competition is in the works, we're just finalising the last few details so it'll be up shortly. M249 / FN-Minimi fault list: Regarding the rumours of a TOP recall - DJ Ashmore (aka Nautilus) had a chat with his friendly Airsoft shop Sanko. Here's what DJ came up with: "TOP said yesterday (Taeko filled Fred in on the rumour and then he called the guys themselves) that not all of the first 200 guns had been sold but that a few of them demonstrated one or more of the following faults.
Not to worry though folks, as TOP will be sending out replacement parts, so if you have purchased a M249 / FN-Minimi all you will have to do is talk (nicely) to the dealer that you originally bought it from. TOP will also fix guns themselves (in Japan) and are setting up the infrastructure to handle this - this is may be where the 'Recall' rumour evolved from. They did not say there would not be a recall, but they did say that at this time that there were no plans to effect one. They also assured Fred that only a limited number of the first batch of 200 were affected (the next batch of 200 has not apparently been sent to the distributors yet and is being checked even now). Mr. Ito added that had a recall been issued the distributors would have found out seconds after TOP made the call and they would have FAX'd the shops with guns on sale seconds later. TOP did send out the news that a percentage of replicas need work, but it is not as drastic as it seems (apparently)." MoA website overhauled: Chiff of the Ministry of Attack (MoA) has emailed in to let everyone know that their website has undergone a major overhaul recently with many new articles, reviews and pictures being added. Go on, take a peek. Systema M90/100 springs dead - long live the new 1J? Not necessarily new news, but it's been unmentioned as far as I'm aware, so here it is: Furey has sent in word that his team-mate Pyro recently heard from (Guns and Guys) GnG that Systema are ceasing production of the old M90 and M100 springs and are now producing a new 1 Joule spring instead.
Airsoft Network news: Pikachoad's other baby brings you a fountain of glorious Airsoft goodies including the following (check AN for more info):
AirsoftCanada updates: Primus has added a good few updates to Airsoft Canada including these nice little titbits:

News Updates: here we go, I've finally cleared the backlog of news that we haven't had time to put up for the past couple of days. Sorry for the delay folks, but it's worth the wait honest...
AirsoftArmouries updates: Jon Kilvington of AirsoftArmouries has emailed in a small update. For those of you looking for the best UK mail/web-order bargains: "...Not really
huge news, but, I have made a price reduction on the Maruzen GBB MP5K,
it is now priced at: £130 and spare mags are £32, these are
the long type 50 round ones..."
RedWolf Updates: RedWolf have also been updating their website this week, and they now have a review of their custom AK47/'Drugathingy', and some new holiday packages, (check their website for more details). Also of note is their latest customer notice: "Holiday Shopping Notice - We have been informed by our express shipping companies that due to the recent world events, you must have your order finalized and shipped on or prior to December 5th to ensure you receive your order before December 25th." This is worth remembering for any retailer, if you want to get those Christmas prezzies in ontime, make sure that you get your orders in by the end of this month, as there will likely be a large rush in early December.
AirsoftSupplies temporary closure: With the recent issues regarding AirsoftSupplies, that some of our readers may be aware of, I asked Graeme if he'd be kind enough to type up a quick explanation of what was going on to clear things up. This also means that for the time being the AirsoftSupplies section in our forums will be replaced with another retailer. Here's what Graeme had to say: "Hi Arnie, it's Graeme Haddock (Fish) here from www.airsoftsupplies.com Just to clear some things up for all your readers I thought I'd send this in. Basically, 2 months ago because of some personal issues I was advised to close the business. Not something I wanted to do (I love the job) but I didn't like the thought of going against my doctors advice. There were some people who were waiting for stuff from me after A.S. closed, but thankfully they have since been sorted out and everything is pretty much cleared up. The good news is AirsoftSupplies (the guaranteed cheapest Airsoft retailer in the UK, with guaranteed 100% customer service satisifcation) WILL BE RE-OPENING again. It's going to be a while though as I don't feel up to it at all at the moment. I'm planning on opening in early February of next year. It seems a long way away but I don't want to push myself and open sooner. I'll have some nice deals for the re-opening, which I'll give your readers a little sneak peak of now (Please note these are estimated special offer prices for the reopening). :
The website is also going to have HUGE descriptions of ALL products, instead of the tiny things we have there now. It'll also be updated every 2 days, providing there is stuff to add to it. Until I reopen, I'm only available through e-mail for personal things (not business related)." |

More updates: We've received a load of news and information updates from various people around the globe via email, but sadly they'll have to wait until later tomorrow for your cogitation and mental musing. Sorry folks, but there just aren't enough hours in the day to get everything done... now back to my plans of travelling back to 1985. (Gigawatt?) |

News for WGC
New retailer link: Lewis Hunnicutt of New World Warehouse has emailed in to inform us of his Airsoft retail company and we'll be adding their website to the links section very shortly. New article coming: Sykobika has submitted an article covering his thoughts about when he did some work on a ClassicArmy M4 metal body, we'll get it only shortly after I source some images for it.

New review in the works: We're working on the finishing touches for a new review, that hopefully we'll have up later today, I won't spoil it for you, but "If I'm not back in fifteen minutes, call the President". (awaits the surge of emails from like-minded individuals... :o) ) News from DJ: Just a few odds(nope no 'sods' today) of news from that nice chap DJ(Darren-Jon Ashmore aka Nautilus). DJ's planning on taking some photos of the GBB MP5k the second he gets a chance, so stay tuned for that. Oh and the FN Minimi release date has been pushed back to the 16th.

DEN Issues: I don't know how many people are aware, but Nelson Chen (one of the top bods at DENTinity) has been having some big problems with their email server. This means that he's having issues replying to emails sent over to him. On the bright side, they're working on a new ordering system and website, which should be up online in a few months. |

New from afar: DJ (Darren-Jon Ashmore aka Nautilus) has sent over news that he's going to be playing with the new barrel extension set for the CAW 'Moscart' shell, so keep your eyes peeled for text and images for that one, due to appear here shortly.
WA BlademasterIII imagery: Tokyo Model Co. have added some images of the new WA BladeMaster III Berettas, so if your interested it may well be worth popping past for a quick glance. Weight is given as 1120g, which is heavy for a pistol of that size. Just another bit of kit to add to that ever growing Christmas list. Sci-Firearms updates: As you may or may not know Sci-Firearms is under new management for the time being, and is now receiving regular updates from TrooperPX. Why not drop over to have a read of what's going on? - It's not strictly 100% Airsoft, but definately worth a read. New this month:
David Ramsay (a.k.a. Citizen Dave) has taken over their PulseRifle resource (mentioned several times on our own M41a project page). The PR resource has been updated with several worthy titbits of news and reviews so go on and head over for a look. BBGunLand updates: BBGunLand have been busy at it (you know what I mean), and have added an update or three. You might even recognise some of the folks mentioned on the front page..ahem. Updates include info imagery of the KSC Mk23 PhaseII (admittadly not that new, but interesting none the less), and images and news of the new BladeMasterIII. They also have some nice imagery of the GB-Tech AAC Spider Suppressor (for TM M9). Sorry folks it's in Taiwanese, and I can't translate that easily. If anyone out there feels like lending a hand and translating a bit of Taiwanese, or even pointing us in the direction of a handy online translator please do drop me a line, please? :) News from Wolf #2: I promised I get round to typing up my notes from my conversation with Lee and his trip to HK, and here it is. Sorry for the delay, but the past week or two have been busy as hell. Anyway back to the updates - apologies if some of the prices are hazy, but you can get exact prices from Wolf themselves: Wolf Armouries ClassicArmy M24: CA have produced 2 versions of the 4th generation of their M24, of the metal barrel and metal fluted barrel. Both of these can be obtained in the UK, and are fully upgraded by CA to 500fps (with the reinforced internals) for about £350. The only minor possible problem area is the aluminium chamber, which isn't great, but for £50 or so you can get an upgraded steel cylinder. The M24 also features a new uprated trigger, barrel catch, and a better mag release system (no more sticky mags). Replacement M24 magazines are expected to cost around £10 but could be cheaper. Wolf also have a full range of scopes that can be fitted (my apologies but I can't remember if Lee said that CA made these or not). You can also get a replica Harris bi-pod for about £35 which will fit straight onto the M24. Other bits: Of worthy note is that Wolf now have in sets of new laser mounts, for about £40. They are effectively copies of the Beamshot sets, but come with 2 mounts. Wolf also have the KSC G18 for £99 and the new M11 for £109. Wolf are now a DEN agent: For anyone that missed it, WolfArmouries are now an official DENTrinity agent in the UK, so if your looking to buy from DEN you might want to check in with Wolf first. TM woes continue: The best selling TM AEGs are the Armalite and MP5 range (their M4/SR16 models are some of the most popular), but currently CA are beating TM in HK because of their price. With the launch of CA's new Armalite range, and their competitive prices, this spells nothing but woe for Marui. Could we be looking at the new leader in Airsoft manufacturing? - only time will tell. On the bright side this means only good news for the consumer, prices are set to drop with several manufacturers, and new products are on the distant horizon. Remember if you're interested in anything in the WolfArmouries post, don't email us, go and visit Wolf themselves in London (or give them a ring), it's worth the trip...honest. (Small disclaimer.. we're not in league with Wolf or anything.. it's just that Lee is a top bloke and runs the best UK Airsoft retail shop, and really deserves a bit of advertising. =) |

CAR15 reviews: We all know that the TM CAR15 isn't exactly new, but DJ (Darren-Jon Ashmore aka Nautilus) was kind enough to send over a review of this TM AEG, and I had one from Inferno (David Jones aka Inferno) too, so I've uploaded both of them today. Both reviews are well worth a read. Thanks to DJ and Inferno for these! Both reviews need a few more bits and bobs adding, but they're readable as they are. |

News from Wolf: Lee of WolfArmouries has been busy over in HK recently and sent over a bunch of news direct from the source. This news is brought to you direct from the kind chaps at: Wolf
Armouries Classic Army: As we all know Classic Army (CA) are working on their new full metal M4, as you may or may not know they're also working on a new M16A2 and a new M16A3 (basically an M4 with a solid stock). First off the M4A1's release has been dropped back as CA want to get these puppies perfect before releasing them to the hordes of drooling 'softers out there. Tech Specs: The new CA Armalite mechbox features a new polycarbonate piston and cylinder, steel gears, uprated bearings, and out the box fires at 328fps with 0.2g BBs. The foregrip is essentially completely hollow and is mounted on a sturdy strengthened outer barrel, perfect for fitting those custom 'horse shoe' batteries. The weight is also very well thought out, and the new AEG is very nicely weighted and balanced. How fast? Now here's for some interesting news: the new CA Armalite range are rated at up to 12 Volts! Now this means that they're not just able to take upgraded batteries, but have been tested and designed for use up to that speed/voltage. Now with a 12v battery you can expect 1000-1100rpm, and can just watch those hi-caps empty themselves in a spray of streaming plastic in just a few seconds. (Time to buy some shares in Excel?) On the downside, the shell ejection port doesn't work in the same way as the TM replica (used for accessing the hop-up), which is 100% true to the real-steel. The CA M4 range come fitted with EG1000 motors as standard, and the UK models (sold exclusively through WolfArmouries) are fitted with a fuse holder - something that was previously missing. Now for the M16 mags. The CA M16 mag is reported to be incredibly well made - the anodised finish to the magazine is almost completely scratch proof and, unlike the CA MP5 range, there's no winding problems to be found. Expected price for the M4A1 is £295 from WolfArmouries! - Not bad for a full metal upgraded AEG with a hi-cap as standard, and from the only dedicated UK Airsoft retail outlet. There's also word of new MP5s in the work, and more to boot, but you'll have to wait until our next news post to read that. =) Could this be the end of TM's domination of the Airsoft Armalite market? Stay tuned for the next installment. |
