How you can help: In light of the recent tragedies that have befallen the USA, I have added the a couple of links here, as I am sure that some of our readers will have been affected. The ribbon (to the left) links to a page that Lycos have created:

"...Charities need money for supplies. Victims and their families need support and prayers. And people are talking about how the U.S. should respond. You'll find important phone numbers, community links and contact information for agencies on this page...."

Another link I would recommend following is this. Amazon.com have setup a new system where you can donate money. As of the 11th of September they had collected over 4.6 Million USD. I was also kindly reminded recently that some local charities are now suffering from lack of support. Please continue to support your local and national charities too at this time. Thank you.

Website quiz/competition: Our 1st Anniversary Competition is in the works, we're just finalising the last few details so it'll be up shortly. Many thanks to Matt Lutynski (aka Sniper) Tom Andrews of Elite Action Games, Jono of PhoenixAirsoft, AirsoftDynamics and WolfArmouries for their generous prize donations.

GremlinGunworx updates: AndyR has added a few new and interesting bits of news and info to his website. Recently added you'll find the manual for the TOP M249, the L96a1 and the original TM Spetsnaz.

There's also some info about interesting titbits that have caught Andy's eye over at DENTrinity, WGC and a few other websites, so why not check out GremlinGunworx now ?

Click here to read 888's reviewNew Tanaka M629 NATO review: You remember those Tanaka revolvers that we've been banging on about since before they were launched? Well if you still don't believe us, then we highly recommend reading 888's website, as he's just added a gorgeous review of the Tanaka M629 Performance Centre NATO, including (get this) extra info on how to fine tune your revolver, and get that extra power from it that you've always wanted.

Hey the man's got real class.. not one but two Tanaka revolvers! No go on, go out and buy that Christmas prezzie you've always wanted, a new Tanaka PEGASUS revolver: simple, effective, powerfull, accurate, and reliable, what more could you want?

Yup that's DJ on the right in the oh.. so dodgy black coat at Sanko. He's a really great bloke honest :)

DJ out of action for a bit: DJ Ashmore (aka Nautilus), the wonderful fellow in Japan that sends over here all kinds of news and info, has sadly been taken ill this week.

Because of this Darren won't be able to reply to any of his friends and fans via email until later next week, so please do bear with him. Darren just wanted everyone to know that he's not ignoring you in any way, but is obviously indisposed at the moment.

I'm sure that you (our readers) appreciate all the effort he goes to, to send over the latest breaking news, and join us in wishing him well, and hoping that he gets better soon. Do remember that this is the fellow that sent us the news of the TOP M249, MP5k GBB, FirstFactory kit.. and so much more.

Want to wish him well? Please do send him and email with your thoughts about the wonderous articles and photo's that he's sent us.

AirsoftShop Updates: Eddie of AirsoftShop has updated their retail website with some new bits and bobs. New last night are the WA BladeMaster III, and the WA BladeMaster III silver slide version, both retail for 187 USD. AirsoftShop also has the Marui Tactical Launcher in for 137 USD.

One word of caution, the WA BladeMaster III is an IPSC Airsoft pistol, which means that it doesn't feature a hop-up unit. Having said that you can easily retrofit the standard WA Beretta hopup barrel unit to it, but it'll cost you extra.

Click here to visit GuarderAre these guys crazy or what? Richard Chou has sent in some more news about Guarder's new products. (click on any of the images for a larger version)

News in from them includes the launch of their LargeTactical Handguard (LTH), and their QuickDetachable Silencer on Sunday, as well as news that their AK wood kit has also been released.

Oh and they decided to dangle two fire extinguishers off their new LTH to see how much it would support... :) Here's the full news from Richard himself:

"...First, the Large Tactical Handguard (LTH) has just been released today. There is one story about it I have to tell you. Just a couple days ago, one of our dealers was worried about the strength of LTH, because the handgrip is made of FRP and not metal.

This got us thinking as to how strong the LTH actually is. So, we decided to conduct a little test to find out how strong the LTH is.

Wow..... Do you know how much weight the LTH hold ? One of the extinguisher weighs 10 kg. The other weighs 11 kg. Don't forget the full metal MP5, it also weighs 3.5 kg. Briefly, It sustained almost 25 kg !! It's really amazing! =P ( I proposed to strap one SR-16 onto the MP5 originally. Because I thought that the SR-16 weighs 3.5 kg and is quite heavy. But the boss considered that the LTH can hold much heavier object than a SR16. That's why we use the extinguishers - we can't find any object heavier than it in our shop. :o)

The other news is that the AK-47/S wood kit has now also been released. The recommended retail price is 195.00USD for AK-47 kit and 135.00USD for AK-47S kit.

The last of our news is that the MP5 QuickDetachable Silencer was also released together with the LTH. The QD mechanism for MP5 is the best one I had ever seen.

It also comes with laser engraved markings. Each one has unique serial number!

In my opinion, the QD mechanism is the essence of the what a silencer should be. Whether you install the silencer on your MP5 or not, your MP5 will look always perfect and beautiful.

I have seen a quick-detachable silencer designed by another company. It needs a special/additional adapter for quick detaching. However, the adapter looks quite ugly..."

M249 / FN-Minimi fault list: Regarding the rumours of a TOP recall - DJ Ashmore (aka Nautilus) had a chat with his friendly Airsoft shop Sanko. Here's what DJ came up with: "TOP said yesterday (Taeko filled Fred in on the rumour and then he called the guys themselves) that not all of the first 200 guns had been sold but that a few of them demonstrated one or more of the following faults.

1: Safety selector a mirror image of real steel.
2: Gun firing on safe.
3: One or more of the of the body pins being weak enough to break.
4: the barrel locking lever not holding the barrel in place.

Not to worry though folks, as TOP will be sending out replacement parts, so if you have purchased a M249 / FN-Minimi all you will have to do is talk (nicely) to the dealer that you originally bought it from.

TOP will also fix guns themselves (in Japan) and are setting up the infrastructure to handle this - this is may be where the 'Recall' rumour evolved from. They did not say there would not be a recall, but they did say that at this time that there were no plans to effect one. They also assured Fred that only a limited number of the first batch of 200 were affected (the next batch of 200 has not apparently been sent to the distributors yet and is being checked even now).

Mr. Ito added that had a recall been issued the distributors would have found out seconds after TOP made the call and they would have FAX'd the shops with guns on sale seconds later. TOP did send out the news that a percentage of replicas need work, but it is not as drastic as it seems (apparently)."

MoA website overhauled: Chiff of the Ministry of Attack (MoA) has emailed in to let everyone know that their website has undergone a major overhaul recently with many new articles, reviews and pictures being added. Go on, take a peek.

Systema M90/100 springs dead - long live the new 1J? Not necessarily new news, but it's been unmentioned as far as I'm aware, so here it is: Furey has sent in word that his team-mate Pyro recently heard from (Guns and Guys) GnG that Systema are ceasing production of the old M90 and M100 springs and are now producing a new 1 Joule spring instead.

New G19 review at PlanetAirsoft: Stan of PlanetAirsoft has managed to snag a new KSC Glock19 for review, here's what he had to say:

"...I have managed to borrow one of KSC's newest gbb for review, the Glock 19. The Glock 19 is a shortened, more compact version of the famous Glock 17, which makes it an extremely effective concealed carry firearm. KSC is probably the number one airsoft Glock manufacture favoured by most airsoft players and this shouldn't be a surpise to anyone, from the release of the first Glock 17 to the newest Glock 19, each new glock was built to improve from the faults of the earlier versions..."

I have to say that I'm impressed with KSC's new GBB myself, as it certainly looks like KSC have improved upon some of the failings and oversights of the previous models, the metal guide rod is a great improvement in itself.

Click here to read the full reviewNew Tac Launcher review: Mark W (aka Hustler) has emailed in details of a new review that he's done. This time Mark brings you the new TM Tac Launcher, check their review page here for more details:

"...Those familiar with the Marui M203 launcher will recognise most aspects of the Tac' Launcher. But for those of you that are not it uses a triple barrel system (shared with the Marui SPAS 12 and Benelli shotguns) allowing it to fire three BBs at a time. BBs are loaded into a 'Shot-shell' magazine which has a capaity of 30, allowing ten shots before the fake shotgun cartridge needs replacing. .."

Airsoft Network news: Pikachoad's other baby brings you a fountain of glorious Airsoft goodies including the following (check AN for more info):

  • Hi-Low mount from AirsoftElite for the AE5 series (fits the M4/SR16 and MP5 series too)
  • ClubMichelle pics of the TM Lac-Launcher
  • New Shibuya Custom Works Combat Defense Pistol
  • FirstFactory's new RIS system for the MP5k
  • AirsoftNetwork new 'headline feature'

AirsoftCanada updates: Primus has added a good few updates to Airsoft Canada including these nice little titbits:

  • IntruderShop news updates
  • Evolution Airsoft's M4 SMG
  • News of the new KSC G26 in the works (another bloomin Glock?)
  • Evolution Airsoft updates (new chargers etc.)
Thursday, November 22, 2001 7:05 PM

Is your boom-stick big enough? Ha - thought not. Thankfully CAW have some to the rescue with the barrel set for their new Moscart 40mm Grenades. DJ Ashmore (aka Nautilus) has sent over reviews and imagery for his latest M79 inspired purchase, the CAW Moscart BarrelSet. Check the full review for the complete news. Here's a brief quote:

"...So, you gas up a grenade and take her out. What can you expect. Well, a bloomin good increase in range I can tell you. With the hops all aimed up we found that the increased power keeps the BBs groups in a rough 5 foot circle for about 20 metres before the hops sends them on the up and down ride. Young Fred actually hit me at around 30 metres (with all of about 2 BBs and the wind in his favour, but that still counts in game^_^)..."

Click here to read the full reviewScopey thingies! Rob K (aka RK00 of www.airsoftdepot.net) has emailed us with some news of a new review, and one that you're not very likely to find elsewhere. Rob has been lucky enough to lay his hands on some 3rd Gen NVGs (Night Vision Goggles). You can find the full review here:

Other news from Rob is that it has been heard from a reliable source in Japan that TOP is recalling the first 300 or so M249's with a list with about 6 or 7 items that need to be fixed. This is understandable though as some bugs and issues only come out of the woodwork when the locals get their hands on the final product.

Click here to visit Airsoft ArmouriesAirsoftArmouries updates: Jon Kilvington of Airsoft Armouries has emailed in some updates regarding stock and available products here's the latest from him:

"...News from Airsoft Armouries
KSC M11A1 £85, that right only £85
KSC G18C £90, yep you read it right £90
this offer is NOT on for ever, grab them while you can..."

Gunmart Dec 2001 is out! Righto.. time for all you UK 'softers to go down to WH Smiths and buy GunMart (we've got our copy). 'Why?' we hear you ask? Well for one thing the Airsoft section is actually worth reading as it's been taken over by Roger Stenning (aka RedCap). Not only can Roger write, but he enjoy's Airsoft, so the articles now have meaning and a great deal of thought put into them - no more reviews of a 4 year old TM Famas's (yay!).

Turn to page 200 to find some new articles this month which include:
- A review of the Classic Army MP5
- Visit to WolfArmouries
- Airsoft skirmish site profile: AmbushWargames
- Airsoft news section

The news section is supported by yours truly, so you might recognise the odd image or three. The front cover is shown to the left so you can easily spot it on the news stand (click on it for a larger image) -buy it quick, 'cos the January issue is already in the works (goes on sale Dec 21st), even better why not buy a subscription (Tel:01454 620070)?

Just so you (our readers) are aware, we don't have any type of financial arrangement with GunMart, but we wholely support any publication that puts Airsoft forward in a good light, and a sensible, mature manner.

Roger Stenning (aka RedCap) is on the lookout for material for the coming issues of GunMart, specifically Airsoft skirmish site reviews (with photos), please do contact him via email for more details.

Maruzen MP5A4 Kurtz review: Well to compliment the photos that DJ Ashmore (aka Nautilus) took Chris Yue (aka Deunan on ASZ & Gugesmk3 - Everywhere else) has kindly sent in a review of the new MP5K GBB. So has it been worth wating for? - Be sure to check the review to find out.

"...This gun is hot! In many ways, the detail is very authentic and the action works in the exactly same way as the real-steel. The charging handle moves the firing mechanism into the ready position, then when you fire the door opens and closes at a rate close to ~20 rounds a second..." (image to the right courtesy of DEN)

Airsoft Players updates: Pikachoad has added a review of his gorgeous custom sniper rifle - be sure to check out AirsoftPlayers to read the full article. Guay Guay updates: Norman Hsu of GuayGuay has emailed in some updates. Updates this time include details of the new MC51 RIS, the G3 RAS, and the AK RIS.

TOP M249 review! For those of you that missed it, the TOP M249 has been released and is finally out. Thanks to Darren-Jon Ashmore (aka Nautilus) we can we can now bring you a review of the M249 (aka FN Minimi) with some lovely yummy pictures too. Here's what DJ had to say:

"...Seems like an eternity ago I had the prototype sat in my lap (bloomin ugly thing it was then - all rough casts and barely fitting machine parts). Still we have the real deal now and I think it has been worth the wait.

Even for me this is going to be a short review, as I have promised not to steal AndyR's thunder on this one - he is the UK's number one Minimi fan and has had this beast on order longer than I care to think about (keep yer eyes open on Gremlin Gunworks for his breakdown)..." (image above and to the left is from the film SwordFish and is courtesy of WarnerBros)

New TacLauncher/MP5kGBB product imagery: Darren-Jon Ashmore (aka Nautilus) has also very kindly sent over some imagery of the new Maruzen MP5k GBB and the new TM Tac Launcher.

Be sure to check those pages for the latest and greatest photos direct from Japan. Thanks DJ!

Click here to visit GuarderGuarder/IntruderShop: Richard Chou of Guarder / IntruderShop has updated us with news that the MP5 tactical grip is on its way out now.

"...We are going to release the Large Tactical Handguard with Rail for MP5 Series this week.
It made by FRP, and the texture is the same as real version like SureFire Handguard.

The package includes three removable rails and one vertical foregrip and the removable design gives you the maximum selectiveness.

The main advantage is that it can accommodate Large-Type battery. It will allow MP5 to upgrade its fire power as well as range.

By the way, it can also be installed on MC51 with a slightly modification. But, unfortunately, when installed on MC51, it can accommodate 9.6V 1700mah Twin-Type battery at most. It is because of MC51 does have even narrow space for accommodating battery.

Finally, if people have any questions or comments about our products, please do not hesitate to email to our service mailbox. We are very glad to answer their questions and comments..."

News Updates: here we go, I've finally cleared the backlog of news that we haven't had time to put up for the past couple of days. Sorry for the delay folks, but it's worth the wait honest...

Click here to visit GuarderGuarder/IntruderShop: Richard Chou of Guarder / IntruderShop has updated us with news that they are going to release a mount which is specially designed for G26/G27. Click on any of the following images for a larger version. Here's what Richard had to say:

"Although the accuracy and performance of G26/27 is very impressive, there is no any mount for G26/27 yet. That's why we designed this baby for.

The lock mechanism is redesigned in order to eliminate the shortcoming of G17/18 mount. (When you turn the screw and try to tighten G17/18 mount, you'll find that the frame is also changing its shape.)

It is made of Aluminum Alloy which makes it stiff and eliminate unnecessary weight. I think it will be a very useful accessary for G26/27's owners. :o) With the mount installed, you may still use the stock sight for aiming."

AirsoftArmouries updates: Jon Kilvington of AirsoftArmouries has emailed in a small update. For those of you looking for the best UK mail/web-order bargains:

"...Not really huge news, but, I have made a price reduction on the Maruzen GBB MP5K, it is now priced at: £130 and spare mags are £32, these are the long type 50 round ones..."

Click here to visit DenTrinityDENTrinity product updates: DEN 's new site has been updated, sadly it's still running slowly, but they've assured me that it'll be fixed shortly, as soon as their server upgrades are complete. Hopefully everything should be running faster sometime early next week.

DEN have couple of new products in - they feature the Tanaka S&W M29 Performance Center Flat Side which is now available in silver for 199USD.

The pistol features a magazine capacity of 15 BBs, is 22cm long, and comes with a real wood grip (as shown), it's pricey, but it's a pokey little backup.

Next in from DEN is the Tanaka Sturm Ruger Super Redhawk .44 Magnum for 172USD, strangely cheaper than the M29, but that's most probably down to the M29's wooden grip.

Again the magazine capacity is 15 BBs (it uses the same gas/loading system), but it's longer (33.4cm) which will mean muzzle velocities of around 340fps/0.2g with HFC22.

AlamoWargames/CustomAirsoftZone updates: Ben Palmer asked if we could give his 2 websites a mention www.customairsoftzone.homestead.com - (his information website) is now up and running with reviews, info, a web poll and a 2nd hand page.

The website www.alamoairsoftwargames.homestead.com - (a skirmish site in Cornwall, UK) is also up and running, now featuring on-line booking, a site map, skirmish gun rental, and updated pricelists.

Click here to visit RWRedWolf Updates: RedWolf have also been updating their website this week, and they now have a review of their custom AK47/'Drugathingy', and some new holiday packages, (check their website for more details). Also of note is their latest customer notice:

"Holiday Shopping Notice - We have been informed by our express shipping companies that due to the recent world events, you must have your order finalized and shipped on or prior to December 5th to ensure you receive your order before December 25th."

This is worth remembering for any retailer, if you want to get those Christmas prezzies in ontime, make sure that you get your orders in by the end of this month, as there will likely be a large rush in early December.

AirsoftNetwork/NewsFlash updates: Pikachoad's chain of websites has been updated, be sure to check the latest NewsFlash issue - Airsoft, 'TheOnion' style. Updates over at AirsoftNetwork include:

  • FirstFactory AK47 bullpup kit
  • ClubMichelle MP5k imagery
  • Operation SnowBlind
  • Airsoft Atlanta updates

Be sure to check AirsoftNetwork for the latest news and info listed above.

AirsoftCanada updates: Primus has been updating his glorious website, AirsoftCanada , recently too including more news from Guarder (check his webby for more details).

You can also find a nice comparison/review of the RIS grips available for the M4 replica series, the article covers both the TM grip, and the Mosquito Molds version - a definite read for any Armalite fan!.

AirsoftSupplies temporary closure: With the recent issues regarding AirsoftSupplies, that some of our readers may be aware of, I asked Graeme if he'd be kind enough to type up a quick explanation of what was going on to clear things up.

This also means that for the time being the AirsoftSupplies section in our forums will be replaced with another retailer. Here's what Graeme had to say:

"Hi Arnie, it's Graeme Haddock (Fish) here from www.airsoftsupplies.com Just to clear some things up for all your readers I thought I'd send this in.

Basically, 2 months ago because of some personal issues I was advised to close the business. Not something I wanted to do (I love the job) but I didn't like the thought of going against my doctors advice.

There were some people who were waiting for stuff from me after A.S. closed, but thankfully they have since been sorted out and everything is pretty much cleared up.

The good news is AirsoftSupplies (the guaranteed cheapest Airsoft retailer in the UK, with guaranteed 100% customer service satisifcation) WILL BE RE-OPENING again. It's going to be a while though as I don't feel up to it at all at the moment.

I'm planning on opening in early February of next year. It seems a long way away but I don't want to push myself and open sooner.

I'll have some nice deals for the re-opening, which I'll give your readers a little sneak peak of now (Please note these are estimated special offer prices for the reopening). :

  • FN P90 - £200
  • Glock19 - £100
  • ALL hicaps - £20

The website is also going to have HUGE descriptions of ALL products, instead of the tiny things we have there now. It'll also be updated every 2 days, providing there is stuff to add to it.

Until I reopen, I'm only available through e-mail for personal things (not business related)."

Wednesday, November 14, 2001 9:10 PM

"But monsieur, it is only wafer thin." Darren-Jon Ashmore (aka Nautilus) caught me on the hop again. Just when we'd finished reading and enjoying his (Taeko) better half's review of the KG9, we get a 'pocket review' to add to the collection. This time it's the First Factory - Front 14mm Rail Attachment System.

Want to know how to add many many more RIS/RAS bit's of kit to your beloved Armalite AEG? Well here's your chance folks, just when you thought DJ's gorgeous custom TM SR16 couldn't get any better First Factory pull out the stops and another fine product to tempt him (not that they had any stops' to begin with, but I'm sure they'd build some if you asked them nicely). :)

More updates: We've received a load of news and information updates from various people around the globe via email, but sadly they'll have to wait until later tomorrow for your cogitation and mental musing. Sorry folks, but there just aren't enough hours in the day to get everything done... now back to my plans of travelling back to 1985. (Gigawatt?)

Tuesday, November 13, 2001 8:20 PM

"This is going to take crackerjack timing. " The new review of the Maruzen KG-9 GBB by Darren-Jon Ashmore (aka Nautilus)'s better half Taeko is now ready, thanks to some help from several sources including Josh Horowitz of WingKong.net, which has to be one of the best 'BigTrouble in little China' recources I have had the fortune to come across (Thanks Josh!).

..Anyway back to the review go on have a read, it's gorgeous. There's a bit more tweaking that needs to be done (as ever, but that's my fault) - this will all be done in due course. Here's a small quote:

"...I have heard it said that the Maruzen KG9 guns - both the BV and the GBB - are classified by some as a poor man’s way into the classic airsoft market - I think this is a little unfair. I have also heard it said that non-hop guns are a poor choice for a player. I think this is, when you have the right gun, utter nonsense, but it is not really part of this review..."

WGC Shop updates: There's a few new things in from WGC - (WGC's Shop) that Leo has emailed over. There's two parts to the news, firstly news about new products, and then some news about WCG themselves.

Click here to visit ADNew updates from AD: AirsotDynamics(AD) have added a section for their custom Thompson contender. Check their news page for more information. Here's a short excerpt:

"...Our Custom Digicon Target (based on the real steel Thompson Target Center) ... features a 20inch barrel unit and a Nakaya Beech Wood Front Grip and Rifle "D" Stock. As well as the obvious external changes we have also upgraded the internals with a new strengthened Trigger Link, Trigger Shear and Cart Ejector - all replaced with high grade steel parts. We have also installed a 50% Up Hammer Spring for a faster, and harder impact. A Supe Up Valve ensures an increased flow of gas for extra power..."

News from DJ: Just a few odds(nope no 'sods' today) of news from that nice chap DJ(Darren-Jon Ashmore aka Nautilus). DJ's planning on taking some photos of the GBB MP5k the second he gets a chance, so stay tuned for that. Oh and the FN Minimi release date has been pushed back to the 16th.

WGC Shop updates: There's quite a few new things in from WGC - (WGC's Shop) that Leo has emailed over. The big news is that the Maruzen MP5k is finally in stock, so head on out and order it now for 148USD. Hey why not get two for that real two gunning experiance?

Click here to vist the G19 review pageG19 review : Mark W (aka Hustler) has emailed us, to let everyone know that he's been lucky enough to get hold of one of the new Glock19s that have just come out. He's also been kind enough to take time out from playing with it to write a review for all you lucky folks out there. Go on have a read and find out why the G19 is the new 'pocket rocket':

"...The newest of KSC's Glocks is without doubt the nicest of the bunch. The G19 features a smaller frame than the G17 or 34, and it is made of a dark grey resin/polimer which has a definite metallic feel to it. The slide is made of a similar material to the others though lacks the Glock trade marks of the older models. The markings on the frame describe this as a 'Mil Spec Standard' model. The hand grips also lack Glock markings, and the smaller mag (23, two less than the G17 mag) has a plain bottom cover. Note though that both 25 and 50 round Glock mags will fit the G19, good news indeed..."

DEN Issues: I don't know how many people are aware, but Nelson Chen (one of the top bods at DENTinity) has been having some big problems with their email server. This means that he's having issues replying to emails sent over to him. On the bright side, they're working on a new ordering system and website, which should be up online in a few months.

New from afar: DJ (Darren-Jon Ashmore aka Nautilus) has sent over news that he's going to be playing with the new barrel extension set for the CAW 'Moscart' shell, so keep your eyes peeled for text and images for that one, due to appear here shortly.

Click here to visit GuarderGuarder updates: Richard Chou of IntruderShop emailed in and sent in some news of their new products on Tuesday, so I'm putting it up here for you guys. You may have seen similar images over at AirsoftCanada, as I believe that Richard emailed Eric too. The PDW flashhider isn't hugely new, but as with all Guarder products it's very accurately made, and highly realistic. The new wood grips for the AK are very appealing, and I for one can't wait to see them in the flesh. -Click on any of the images in this article for a larger version. Here's what Richard had to say:

"...IntruderShop have just released a couple of new products, the first is the PDW Flash Hider! It is CNC machined and made of high quality steel.

We also proudly introduce the new P-PROCESS technology, which makes the PDW Flash Hider look extremely close to an real one. In addition, since it is made of steel, its weight is the same as the real one.

By the way, it must works with threaded adaptors (whether stock version or custom version). Because of the stock version unthreaded adaptor doesn't have proper shape. Neither does AE's stock MP5. Of course, it can work on all our MP5 threaded adaptors! =)

Comparison of available PDW Flashhiders (My best guess is that the two right replicas are TokyoMarui and CA respectively)

The other news is that we are going to release the AK-47/47S wood stock kit ! In order to mimic the real AK series' color and luster, we especially bought a real AK wood stock set. In addition, the shape of the handgrip is also redesigned which makes you be able to hold the grip comfortably.

It also show the traditions of Guarder's policy - Quality Design. If everything goes smoothly, the release date will be in the last third part of November..."

Click here to visit ADNew from AD: James (aka Ghost Dog) over at AirsotDynamics(AD) has very kindly emailed in again to remind us of a few updates over at their website:

Click here to vist AD"...Just a quick note to let you all know that we now have the new Glock19 ready to ship to anyone who wants them! Price = £115.00. I also have just been informed that the Gunsimikichi G36 kits have been built and will be shipped to us in the next few days, as well as the new SA80 we told you about so hopefully we will be able to give you test results within the next few weeks..."

The brief news is that it no longer has the original glock 'G' logo, but a 'G' of a slightly different style. The weight is high with the high metal compound content, and the recoil is crisp with a fast cycle rate. The range is much that of any other GBB, although the hop-up is very sensitive, which allows for accurate zeroing. Checkout the AD website for more info.

WA BlademasterIII imagery: Tokyo Model Co. have added some images of the new WA BladeMaster III Berettas, so if your interested it may well be worth popping past for a quick glance. Weight is given as 1120g, which is heavy for a pistol of that size. Just another bit of kit to add to that ever growing Christmas list.

Sci-Firearms updates: As you may or may not know Sci-Firearms is under new management for the time being, and is now receiving regular updates from TrooperPX. Why not drop over to have a read of what's going on? - It's not strictly 100% Airsoft, but definately worth a read. New this month:

  • PulseRifle updates
  • TombRaider guns - some info
  • S.F.3.D original

David Ramsay (a.k.a. Citizen Dave) has taken over their PulseRifle resource (mentioned several times on our own M41a project page). The PR resource has been updated with several worthy titbits of news and reviews so go on and head over for a look.

BBGunLand updates: BBGunLand have been busy at it (you know what I mean), and have added an update or three. You might even recognise some of the folks mentioned on the front page..ahem. Updates include info imagery of the KSC Mk23 PhaseII (admittadly not that new, but interesting none the less), and images and news of the new BladeMasterIII. They also have some nice imagery of the GB-Tech AAC Spider Suppressor (for TM M9). Sorry folks it's in Taiwanese, and I can't translate that easily. If anyone out there feels like lending a hand and translating a bit of Taiwanese, or even pointing us in the direction of a handy online translator please do drop me a line, please? :)

News from Wolf #2: I promised I get round to typing up my notes from my conversation with Lee and his trip to HK, and here it is. Sorry for the delay, but the past week or two have been busy as hell. Anyway back to the updates - apologies if some of the prices are hazy, but you can get exact prices from Wolf themselves:

ClassicArmy M24: CA have produced 2 versions of the 4th generation of their M24, of the metal barrel and metal fluted barrel. Both of these can be obtained in the UK, and are fully upgraded by CA to 500fps (with the reinforced internals) for about £350.

The only minor possible problem area is the aluminium chamber, which isn't great, but for £50 or so you can get an upgraded steel cylinder.

The M24 also features a new uprated trigger, barrel catch, and a better mag release system (no more sticky mags). Replacement M24 magazines are expected to cost around £10 but could be cheaper. Wolf also have a full range of scopes that can be fitted (my apologies but I can't remember if Lee said that CA made these or not). You can also get a replica Harris bi-pod for about £35 which will fit straight onto the M24.

Other bits: Of worthy note is that Wolf now have in sets of new laser mounts, for about £40. They are effectively copies of the Beamshot sets, but come with 2 mounts. Wolf also have the KSC G18 for £99 and the new M11 for £109.

Wolf are now a DEN agent: For anyone that missed it, WolfArmouries are now an official DENTrinity agent in the UK, so if your looking to buy from DEN you might want to check in with Wolf first.

TM woes continue: The best selling TM AEGs are the Armalite and MP5 range (their M4/SR16 models are some of the most popular), but currently CA are beating TM in HK because of their price. With the launch of CA's new Armalite range, and their competitive prices, this spells nothing but woe for Marui. Could we be looking at the new leader in Airsoft manufacturing? - only time will tell. On the bright side this means only good news for the consumer, prices are set to drop with several manufacturers, and new products are on the distant horizon.

Remember if you're interested in anything in the WolfArmouries post, don't email us, go and visit Wolf themselves in London (or give them a ring), it's worth the trip...honest. (Small disclaimer.. we're not in league with Wolf or anything.. it's just that Lee is a top bloke and runs the best UK Airsoft retail shop, and really deserves a bit of advertising. =)

CAR15 reviews: We all know that the TM CAR15 isn't exactly new, but DJ (Darren-Jon Ashmore aka Nautilus) was kind enough to send over a review of this TM AEG, and I had one from Inferno (David Jones aka Inferno) too, so I've uploaded both of them today. Both reviews are well worth a read. Thanks to DJ and Inferno for these!

Both reviews need a few more bits and bobs adding, but they're readable as they are.

News from Wolf: Lee of WolfArmouries has been busy over in HK recently and sent over a bunch of news direct from the source. This news is brought to you direct from the kind chaps at:

Wolf Armouries
Tel: +44 (0) 870 7549653
Fax:+44 (0) 845 4588311

Classic Army: As we all know Classic Army (CA) are working on their new full metal M4, as you may or may not know they're also working on a new M16A2 and a new M16A3 (basically an M4 with a solid stock). First off the M4A1's release has been dropped back as CA want to get these puppies perfect before releasing them to the hordes of drooling 'softers out there.

Tech Specs: The new CA Armalite mechbox features a new polycarbonate piston and cylinder, steel gears, uprated bearings, and out the box fires at 328fps with 0.2g BBs. The foregrip is essentially completely hollow and is mounted on a sturdy strengthened outer barrel, perfect for fitting those custom 'horse shoe' batteries. The weight is also very well thought out, and the new AEG is very nicely weighted and balanced.

How fast? Now here's for some interesting news: the new CA Armalite range are rated at up to 12 Volts! Now this means that they're not just able to take upgraded batteries, but have been tested and designed for use up to that speed/voltage. Now with a 12v battery you can expect 1000-1100rpm, and can just watch those hi-caps empty themselves in a spray of streaming plastic in just a few seconds. (Time to buy some shares in Excel?)

On the downside, the shell ejection port doesn't work in the same way as the TM replica (used for accessing the hop-up), which is 100% true to the real-steel.

The CA M4 range come fitted with EG1000 motors as standard, and the UK models (sold exclusively through WolfArmouries) are fitted with a fuse holder - something that was previously missing.

Now for the M16 mags. The CA M16 mag is reported to be incredibly well made - the anodised finish to the magazine is almost completely scratch proof and, unlike the CA MP5 range, there's no winding problems to be found.

Expected price for the M4A1 is £295 from WolfArmouries! - Not bad for a full metal upgraded AEG with a hi-cap as standard, and from the only dedicated UK Airsoft retail outlet.

There's also word of new MP5s in the work, and more to boot, but you'll have to wait until our next news post to read that. =) Could this be the end of TM's domination of the Airsoft Armalite market? Stay tuned for the next installment.
