Airbana Airsoft Map Ver3

Airbana

Recommended Posts

Hi All,

Apologies to those who may have seen this already on ASCUK.

Mods: Airbana is non profit and non commercial. I'm just trying to help out!

I've revamped the design to make better use of the screen:

You no longer need to signup to Add Sites, receive SMS's or anything like that. Information such as your mobile number is stored on your local computer (cookies for those who care).

There is a lot more AJAX in the site now so it should feel a lot smoother and there is now an array of servers in the back end of things to keep it running fast.

The XMLRPC functionality is now complete so whenever someone clicks on the 'Prices' link for a site in Airbana the XMLRPC function will trigger and request http://yoururl/xmlrpc.php and render those prices straight into the Airbana interface ensuring you have the very latest prices on show! For those of you who don't want to get involved in programming just use the Airbana XMLRPC Generator and upload it to your site!

I've put together a how-to that for the moment should whet your appetite for when the site goes fully live and help new users in the long run.

Version 3 also includes an Application Programming Interface which will allow you to expose / utilise Airbana Functionality on your own sites (or Desktop widgits / whatever). Version 3.1 of the API (already in progress) will allow remote clients to trigger push elements (changing elements in the database) and User Comms (sending SMS's etc).

Users with standards compliant browsers (firefox, opera etc) will be able to make use of the 'One Click Co-ordinates' feature when adding a site, simply click on 'Add Site', zoom into where your site is then right click, the co-ordinates are saved and you are onto Stage 2!

In response to the defacement attack earlier in the month I've had to resort to using Captcha's on some elements of the site.

Adding Event Dates (Retail sites can have 'events' now too!) is now simplified, the map is now also capable of displaying multiple events for one site in a given time period (oversight of mine). You can also edit Event Details upto and including the date of the event. Events that have happened in the past can not be edited.

Looks Really Good!

One suggestion though would be to have FPS limits, green fees walk on and rental on the scroll over link saves going to each link when trying to find whats suitable for your gear.

I.E.

FPS 330AEG 500sniper 350support

Green Fee With Lunch

£20 Walk on

£35 Hire Gun

Just an Idea

Hi,

Thanks for suggestion, originally all details were pulled from the DB and displayed but it adds an extra element of load which at the moment doesn't return useful enough data as not all sites have added prices / XMLRPC files.

Clicking on 'Full Details' will show both the local Airbana stored prices, remote prices acquired via XMLRPC and the wiki (which can be used to add custom info such as FPS etc) and all the other info.

If there is enough demand for static FPS sections (Sniper, AEG, Support etc) then I will of course add it to the todo list.
