  1. I've just set up the site sections so that each now carries a geographical location in the category name.

However, I don't realy feel there is a need for 'WTS / WTT' tags as the 'wanted' posts are much less numerous and easily covered within a single section. As the sales sections were always much more diverse in nature, this is why I categorised these.

  2. I must confess I am struggling to see the benefit. Certainly it appears to carry none for the majority of forum users who adhere to forum rules and thus never need to know which moderator has done what.

If a member wants to know which moderator has done something, they can simply contact myself or Arnie. As Misfit correctly states, the forum logs all action.

  3. I've had a lot of requests recently for a carbine picture thread, so here it is.

For clarification - by 'carbine' we will, for arguments sake, take it to mean any pistol based airsoft replica which utilises an extended body / stock. This includes the most recent wave of FPG and HERA variants as well as older variants such as the M712 Carbine.

Basically, if it's not quite a pistol any longer but also not quite a SMG / Assault Rifle, it probably belongs here...

  4. There are two photographs used for your account.

One is your avatar and is displayed when you post on the forums.

The other is your profile picture (set by editing your profile) and is used when members view your profile or when status updates are posted.

You have currently set an avatar but not a profile picture. Go to your profile and add a photograph to resolve. Generally pictures should be 100x100.

  5. Yep. We've said this lots before but just to confirm, if you DO have 100 posts, and DO NOT have access to the sales section, it means you are one of the few people who have not posted in an area which INCREASES your post count since the rule was implemented 2 years ago.

To get access simply POST WHERE YOUR POST COUNT WILL INCREASE - THIS INCLUDE AREAS LIKE GENERAL DISCUSSION OR HERE.

Please remember to make sure ALL posts on the forum are productive and positive. This community exists to benefit all, not to serve as a depository for inane (that is what offtopic is for!);)

  6. Due to the popular demand, I'm pleased to announce the latest fun-orientated Arnies event!

MA weekenders are small community-driven events that focus on fun, Arnies-themed games.

Games will involve woodland, urban and night games with a range of different games throughout the weekend - see the previous event sections for more information of the types of games seen.

The event is a regulars-themed event but non-regulars are also welcome - contact me for more information.

As this is not a sim weekend, any dress code / weapons are welcome - the only restrictions we have are that we must ask all players to have boots with ankle support, appropriate eye-protection (any under 16s require full-face protection) and weapons with a velocity not exceeding 330fps (500 single shot).

    Core Facts

Venue: Gunman Airsoft, Tuddenham (near Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk)

Date: March 19-20 (Gates Open Friday 18th at 5pm - I'll aim to be on site from 3ish onwards.)

    Green Fee £50

Facilities: Portaloo (provided kindly by Gunman), Genny & Charging Facilities (remainder TBC)

Game Ideas: TBC. Due to the popularity of the last two MAs at Tuddenham, we will play similar games, with a few new additions and tweaks as always! If you have ideas for events, please let us know!

    Booking & Payment Options

In order to keep the weekend as friendly and 'intimate' as always, we'll be sticking to the tried and tested '30 player cap' rule. To secure your place at the event, you two choices available:

A - Pay now the full amount (£50) + paypal fees (go to http://morningafter.konstipation.com)

B- Pay now a deposit (£20) + paypal fees (go to http://morningafter.konstipation.com) and then pay remainder on gate.

Note: Due to the limited spaces available, coupled with a small number of individuals claiming a place only to both not attend and not inform anyone so as to free up their spaces for others, we won't be offering the the 'pay in full' option this time - sorry. Also please note deposits are only refundable in the event that the weekend is cancelled - so please make sure you can attend before booking!

For more information or to book visit the Information thread or contact me directly. :)

Yes folks, the time is almost upon us for the latest Morning After 6 weekender!

Morning Afters are the spiritual successors to the Arniegeddon weekenders; small, friendly community events open to all Arnies members of all shapes and sizes.

The focus is on making friends, having fun, and then shooting the friends you've just made – so please don't expect any serious milsim business – there are plenty of other excellent weekenders out there for that!

These events are kept small to keep them fun and friendly – so limited spaces are available. 15 people are already booked, with a further four interested, and we only have 30 spaces – so apply soon if interested!

    Here's the critical details:

Venue: Gunman Airsoft's Tuddenham site, Suffolk, UK.

Date: August 21-22nd (Gates Open Friday 20th at 5pm – arriving on the Friday is best if you want to meet people before you shoot them!)

Cost: £50 (a range of payment options are available – see the payment link below for details.

If you're interested or have any questions, feel free to pm me. Please remember that this is an Arnies event – but you are welcome to bring guests if you check with me first!

  8. So to summarise:

I want to buy a RIF without the legal right to do so. I am angry as this forum will not help me achieve this illegal act. Because you are being all selfish and follow the legal precedents of the UK, I wish to complain.

You're clearly a troll. I'm banning you now.

  9. I'm obviously biased, but I prefer access to a dedicated IRC option. This enables the use of a variety IRC clients, which means we do not need to rely on a browser / java for access, and which grants access for Android / Iphone users on the move.

Although the java functionality of a chatroom makes it accessible for first time and occasional users, the majority of members on the IRC channel are regulars who use dedicated IRC clients due to the superior functionality and the fact that it's a dedicated client.

If you really want this function also, that's great, but I suspect this will face a lot of resistance from the regulars and that it will result in a bit of a split with the regulars who socialise on the chat feature staying on IRC, and the chatroom being used by beginners who find it increasingly hard to get the instant answers to their questions that they expect, if all of the regulars refuse to use the new section.

  10. Our work terminals use a combiation of IE7 and Firefox 3.4.

Firefox - no problems - some sluggishness though compared to the old forum.

IE7 - so unresponsive I couldn't use it long enough to check for white spaces.

If, as Panoptes stated, the UKAZ forums use the same IPB and are much more responsive, it seems odd that this is just affecting us - unless posts are still being processed in the background. Is there some sort of code optimisation that we can do, Arnie?

  11. Arnie: The image is resizing correctly here.

I've also checked the forum in Chrome, Firefox 3.6 and IE8 (sadly I don't have any more outdated versions of the browser than this), and I can't replicate the white space issue Panoptes etc referred to. I'm sure it is an issue in IE7, but it looks like it must be restricted to this browser. As Tink suggested, the best quick fix I can advise is using a more up to date version of IE - those unwilling or unable to do this will unfortunately simply have to wait for Arnie to sort the issue out. :)
