  1. What is rubber undercoat?  Is that like truck bed liner?

    Cheers,

    Daniel

nope, its marketed by Mar-hyde in big spraycans as "Ruberized undercoating" "guarenteed to cut down on engine noise by 65% or your money back!"

IIRC I bought my can at Walmart..

  2. Whats the best way to paint the body of the P90? Do you need to remove the surface layer first or can you just spray?

I am probably looking to spray it jet black - can anyone recommend some good paint?

theres a few body screws that are infact real and can be removed. Be careful though because they do have a tendency to look like the faux plastic screws! IIRC they're mostly around the grip area for whatever reason and theres around 4 I THINK. Oh also remove the trigger, sel switch, and trigger bar before painting.

Then just cut to shape some masking tape on the other faux screws and make sure to cover up the ejection port.

Optional: if you want to be picky you can also mask the magazine release, I did it on one receiver I painted but not on the other and it dosen't affect looks one bit.

If your using krylon apply one coat of a light gray primer then coat it in whatever textured paint you want followed by a healthy coat of OD and sealent. However its reccomended that you cover up areas where the trigger meets the body as well as where the upper meets it.

Later on you can apply OD to these areas without fear of gumming up your trigger and quick take down abillity.

If your using duracoat get a good plastic safe degreaser, I used rubbing alchoal and a washrag. Rub it down in alchoal let it dry then just follow the above steps to masking off the tiny parts, taking out the trigger, ect and of corse the directions included with the duracoat.

Optional: when done apply rubber undercoating to the inside of your P90 to further cutdown on noise and whine. Leave to setup overnight and wait 48 hours before firing the gun again.

    whew.. hope that helped some!

  3. For shame :)

You need to shoot every  gun in anger at least once a month.  :rifle:

Otherwise you have the airsoft equivalent of a safe queen.

Fixed, and of corse my guns both real and airsoft are all safe queens.

I quit playing a number of years ago, I just keep buying guns because I'm in the same boat as mighty jebus. They're entertaining to tinker with and fun to shoot around the house without spending a fortune on brass and range fees.

Heck, I've got guns that I can't even fire because I don't have the approiate battery for them or the battery I have is long dead.

  4. Yeah, looks like Hawaii, probably Kawaii--Kipu Ranch.  Where they film a lot of non-discript latin american films.  (Jurasic Park, the Rundown, Raiders of the Lost Arc (beginning scenes, anyways) etc.)

    Steve

    Um...Grant, they're flocking this way..

God, that was the first thing I thought of when I saw that field..

AIM makes a clear plastic m4. It looks like the one you have - plastic front sight, plastic buffer tube, etc. Yours may have had TM parts added, but plastic furniture such as buffer tube, weaver rail, and front site and outer barrel are clear signs that AIM probably manufactured the externals. You might want to check into that.

then why is my upper clear?

    Edit:

    Also note:

Clear mag catch vs Black metal mag catch

Clear Bolt stop vs Black metal Bolt stop

Orange Plastic Flash hider vs Clear plastic flash hider

Steel piece in the buffer vs Totally clear plastic buffer w/ Marui marked endcap

  6. All I will add is that, in terms of the stock, I've found that CA generally have "more solid" solid stocks, if you get what I mean  In essence, my G&P Solid Stock creaks a little, not much, but it is noticable at times, whereas CA Armalites I've handled have nil creak whatsoever

    :geek:

just a random totally off topic question..

But would your Live tag also be BoB Soil?

  7. Nobody got owned, people had legitimate doubts about the rifle in question and hopefully I put any doubts they may have had to rest.

However, I still welcome more questions about this weapon and will answer them all to the best of my abillity. :)

  8. I'm planning on making this into the real thing someday. Its very heavy and has a ported barrel & rubber buffer to reduce the massive recoil from the yet invented 10.9mm Mag +P load. Magazine capacity is 7+1, the trigger guard also doubles as brass knuckles if things get bad enough.

Comes from the factory equiped with a match hair trigger & adjustable combat sights. 1x6 twist rate bbl length ranges depending on model (6 in - 9 in) Military and police models come packaged with a shoulder stock enabling the gun to operate in 2rd burst, 3 rd burst, & FA modes.

And this was for a novel that I wrote entitled "The Republic". Of corse, this will be the marine's issue rifle if I can ever get the damn thing made into a movie.

  9. It could be an old display model for shows and whatnot.  You know, to see what goes on inside the old model Marui M4A1.  It beats having to make a cutaway model and this method still allows the gun to be used for firing demonstrations.

Hell, H&K made a UMP45 with a clear plastic exterior for similar purposes.

One of those must be worth a shedload.  Great collector's piece!

    Ding! we have a winner!

The tale behind this show piece is weirder than truth, however I'm required to keep my mouth shut for various reasons..
