  1. Awww yeah. The midwest mount is pretty nice. The diode for the primary arms micro dot is in a terrible place so I can't get it to co-witness though. It's on my real steel right now, and if I don't like shooting with it then it'll get stuck on airsoft duty.

Sorry for the terrible picture, this thing really needs some paint and I need a place to take pictures that isn't cold and covered in snow.

    loving the new RDS mount!

you know what i reckon would look REALLY cool and unique? lose the ultimAK and replace it with a full length, bare, AMD65 style gas tube. i've never seen it done and i reckon it'd look seriously mean.

  2. Did someone say MAG-K?

:D (sorry for indoor pic, its pitch black outside)

Now if my stupid MIAD would ever come in then I could work on getting that fitted...

I'm surprised no one has mentioned anything about the rails on the BP. CYMA makes that top rail so I guess it would stand to reason that maybe they got them to make the bottom rail as well? No way its the LCT at that price. From the pictures/videos, the rails just look, I dunno, less good.

cool! any chance of a pic with the stock extended to a comfortable length and a mag in the gun? i've been trying to visualise this sort of set up for a while.

  3. hmm, apparently the mustang GT only comes with a 4.6, not a 4.8, but anyway, my point still stands

i'm not so much comparing small turbo jap engines to american lumps, i think the BMW 4.0L is more apt. the fact that zee churmans have made a smaller, normally aspirated engine put out almost as much power as a 600cc larger engine with a supercharger. not only that but from the brief bit of googling i did the beemer appears to produce 100NM more torque at more or less the same RPM (3900 ish). that torque figure is admittedly from the normally aspirated engine, but still, BMW have made a smaller engine produce more torque at lower RPM as well as about 150 more horsepower.

i understand that these big V8s are very much torque focused and not very big on revs, but BMW's engine is smaller and revs like hell while still producing more low down power and tonnes more top end.

  4. i know, its bad especially when you consider what the japanese have been able to do with the evo and impreza over the years aswell. still, the mustang is very relaxed due to its big engine, youre never really making it scream.

or BMW squeezing 420bhp out of an 800cc smaller V8 with no forced induction, as well as more torque at lower RPM. honestly, yank tanks never cease to amaze me with their relative lack of power.

  5. not my ride, but my cousins, which we went to pick up yesterday. i couldnt not show you though, and he does (did) airsoft, so i guess it sort of qualifies it.

certainly not my cup of tea, and if i was spending this much money i could come up with a list of cars as long as my arm i'd rather buy, but my god its *fruitcage* rapid. it has the roush suspension, exhaust and best of all supercharger :death: . 4.8L V8, about 450 BHP. i still struggle to see how american companies get so little power from such huge engines. sounds great aswell, and the acceleration is phenomenal. we managed to go faster than either of us have ever been on land, and that was with a gear and revs still to spare :fear: i saw a brochure for mustang bits, and the supercharger was a 7K option !! my cousin wasnt the mug that paid for it though, hes the second owner. it made me chuckle at all the scoops, vents and intakes you can fit to a mustang - NONE of them do anything, at all. every single one i saw at the dealer was blocked off, no air can get in them. including the one on my cousins car.

bloody hell! only 450bhp from a supercharged 4.8L V8? a honda S2000 with a bolt on SC will make around 350 bhp with the standard compression ratio and exhaust, and that's from a 2L 4cyl. a nice stainless exhaust, a thicker head gasket, a smaller SC pulley and the sky's the limit.

my 1.8 astra coupe SE2, got it back at the weekend after having a GSI bumper and irmscher rear bumper spats fitted as well as having the bumper and centre console resprayed. im currently in the process of painting the smoothed OPC grill gloss black to match the bumper grills and recesses. probably going to get some pressed metal plates for it soon. also it really needs a wash

and my sexy sexy blue/black interior :D

  7. thx guys, in this configuration the AKS74U is a very very comfortable gun :)

@ Ivan le Fou: nope, it was weldered to the receiver, but I don't mind, I've almost never collapsed the original stock before

any reason you didnt/couldnt weld it flush with the back of the receiver? it looks good, but i cant help it'd look more natural if it fitted flush.

  8. I have decided that my next perchase will be ak of some desciption, but i have a few questions, would a gp-30 fit a ak-105? the mounts look like they could still lock to the barrel, but the gas block is all different so i'm not sure, does anyone have this combo? could they take a picture?

not without modding IIRC, i have seen it done though and it looked savage.

  9. frantically masturbating into a crusty Telnyashka and moaning "SOVIET PROGRESSIVE STATE PARTY VAN HURRRGH" whilst rubbing their nipples with their khaki RD54 magpouches.

dont knock it 'till you've tried it :P

seriously though, i used to be a major AK 'purist', now i honestly dont give a *suitcase*. in fact, should i actively get back into airsoft my first build will probably be a magpul'd AK105.

the red alliance attitude really doesnt need to be bought over to arnies. i was a member there for a good while, and looking back i can safely say that it has by far the highest concentration of elitist, intolerant, keyboard-warrior bellends i have ever seen on the internet.

  10. Nice. Definatly trying that with one of my rifles. Although I would imagine it wouldn't do the same to a pot metal CYMA reciever......

probably not considering a. it's pot metal and wont oxidise the same as steel, and b. it's painted rather than blued.
